Reporting in!

Thanks!

LOVE your reports!!!! And tell Bill to keep looking at those March airfares! I would love it if you were in WDW the same time we are......

You don't even know how many times we tried to fit in a March trip, I even got one of those codes with a $500 gift card, but his classes are just too hard this year.

I'm here too!! I have high hopes for this trip... after everything that happened last time. :sad2:

Hi Amy!! I think you will like this TR more :thumbsup2.

I think it's great that the manager came to ask you how everything was and for input on ways to improve. :thumbsup2

A little late to the party, Tracy, but I'm here! :wave2:

Can't wait to hear all about this trip's adventures! You and Bill always make me smile! :goodvibes

She was a really nice person. Bill says he is wondering if we will get the same room when we go there in June and if they changed the bathroom door knob.

A little late to the party, Tracy, but I'm here! :wave2:

You aren't late to the party at all. Thanks for joining in!

Wed. Nov. 12, 2008

Wow, 3:15am rolls around very fast. We were ready within an hour and in the lobby by 4:20am.

WDW11-08015.jpg

The front desk attendant was so sweet, she just talked and talked. By 4:40am there still was no taxi, the attendant called the company and was informed that the driver of the accessible taxi wasn’t working that early. We were just about to decide to drive the van when the attendant started calling other cab companies. She explained the situation and another company said they were on our way.

Who was this sweet angel attendant? On her name tag… M I C K E Y, yes, I am not making that up, her name was Mickey. We were picked up at 4:55am and in front of the airport by 5:05am. We got through the ticket counter and security by 5:22am and at the gate at 5:35am.

Bill was thirsty so we got an orange juice and a cookie:

WDW11-08016.jpg

The flight was scheduled to take off at 6:45am, they had us pre-board at 6:15am, and we got to leave 5 minutes early. We landed at 9:20am; we are always the last off because they have to get the wheelchair out of the belly of the plane. The Magical Express line was very short.

Bill getting on ME:

WDW11-08018.jpg

We were at Pop by 11am.

WDW11-08020.jpg

We went to check in, they wanted to stick us in the farthest building in the 80’s section, I requested closer, so they switched us to the 70’s but it wasn’t ready yet. We decided to go to the food court and get something to share. We got an individual pizza, Bill got a carrot cake, I got water and a fruit cup. I loved the Christmas themed napkins:

WDW11-08022.jpg

We were in line for the Magic Kingdom bus by:

WDW11-08023.jpg

Wow, we were there 16 days prior and got to take in all the Halloween decorations, now there is Christmas:

WDW11-08026.jpg

We took a bad photopass picture:

(It just about killed me to post that, I have big arms and with me starting to lose this weight they are more flabby then ever, I am working on them, but arrrgggghh it is slow going, but for the TR I post them)

Then we headed onto Main Street.

WDW11-08027.jpg

We saw Pinocchio with a short line so we hopped in it.

WDW11-08031.jpg

It started to rain, we went into the Emporium and looked around. We continued all the way through it and by the time we got out it had stopped raining. We went to the first aid station for personal care, here is what a low bed looks like if anyone is interested:

WDW11-08032.jpg

I really loved the landscaping at WDW, it is just beautiful:

WDW11-08033.jpg

We headed to the handicap accessible parade area at Liberty Square for the 3pm parade. Look how pretty the sky was:

WDW11-08034.jpg

WDW11-08035.jpg

I can’t get enough of that gorgeous blue WDW sky, can you?

We had seen this parade for the first time back in October, we really enjoyed it.

WDW11-08037.jpg

Well then Tigger had to say hi too:

Stitch dropped by:

I had never seen them have to pull a float around the corner before:

WDW11-08054.jpg

Aww, sweet Minnie:

WDW11-08061.jpg

Then the parade was over, we decided to check out Fantasyland. This is the first time I really looked at the back of the castle, so stunning:

WDW11-08062.jpg

Time to try something new:

WDW11-08063.jpg

I really can’t tell you why we hadn’t done it before. The pictures were really cute:

WDW11-08065.jpg

The CM had us wait for the wheelchair accessible ride vehicle. She wanted Bill to go in forward, from now on he will back in, it was really hard for him to maneuver going in forward.

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!!

Here are some ride pictures:

WDW11-08068.jpg

We got out of the 100 acre woods and wanted to see:

WDW11-08076.jpg

I love the topiaries:

WDW11-08073.jpg

One day I want to go to the Flower and Garden Festival.

I will warn you now, I like taking pictures of WDW light fixtures:

Here is Bill modeling the 3D glasses

Next installment…What did the obsessive trip planner forget to bring with us?

Wow, we were there 16 days prior and got to take in all the Halloween decorations, now there is Christmas:

I am so jealous!!

Aww, Tracy, we understand! :grouphug:

Great start to your trip!! What a beautiful day at the MK!

I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to post pictures of yourself in your TRs - I'm sure it can be hard for you sometimes- but I think you look great!!

Bill really is a character magnet, isn't he?? They all love him. :goodvibes

So cool about the driver's name being Mickey! pixiedust:

It looked like a lovely day. I so can't wait to go in March. :goodvibes

Bill got some great character interaction during the parade. :thumbsup2

Isn't Pooh a fun ride? It just makes me smile. :)

Hoping you didn't forget anything too important!!

I don't know if we would do trips so close again, now it seems like forever until I get to go back.

Uh-oh...what did you forget Tracy? I'm nervous....:crazy2:

Sara

You wil learn what I forgot either later today or tomorrow ;) .

It was beautiful that day, almost every day is just as beautiful there, I miss it  . Thanks for saying that about the pictures. Bill says his wheelchair is a character magnet, they just gravitate to it.

Hi Carissa! I thought it was cool too.

You will have so much fun in March, I can't wait to read about it.

We thought Pooh was so cute.

Wed. Nov. 12th, 2008 cont.

After our 3D adventure we walked toward Frontierland going past Columbia Harbour House on the way. There was a CM with Down’s Syndrome ringing the dinner bell. Bill and I love seeing this, we love that WDW gives people with disabilities a chance at a job. By now it was about 4:20pm, we had a mission.

WDW11-08087.jpg

It was closed in October and we wanted to see it. The show was about to start so we walked right in. It was almost packed. The CM recognized us from October she had been at Big Thunder Mountain when we had tried to see if Bill could ride it.

WDW11-08081.jpg

WDW11-08082.jpg

WDW11-08084.jpg

The show was done about 4:50pm. It was almost time for our dinner at:

WDW11-08090.jpg

Oops it is starting to get a little cloudy:

WDW11-08088.jpg

WDW11-08089.jpg

This was bittersweet, we knew this would be the last time we would have a character dinner there. Bill and I love the character meals, we love seeing the interaction with children, we love how they play around, it is just great fun.

Yummy rolls:

WDW11-08094.jpg

Good salad:

WDW11-08095.jpg

Time for our first character, Dale:

WDW11-08096.jpg

Aww, then Minnie joined us:

WDW11-08100.jpg

Then it was Pluto’s turn, I always worry about his whiskers, they always seem to poke Bill somewhere, looks like they are almost at Bill's jugular!!

WDW11-08102.jpg

Entrée time:

WDW11-08107.jpg

Bill with Goofy, Bill’s look cracks me up:

WDW11-08113.jpg

Chip:

WDW11-08116.jpg

Pluto and Dale were hilarious, Pluto shut Dale up in the closet:

WDW11-08117.jpg

Pluto was stealing rolls from people, everyone was laughing, but me. See, I the obsessive trip planner forgot something, well didn’t forget it completely, just didn’t bring it in the carry on…our ponchos. Not such a big deal right? Well, yeah it is because I looked out the window and it was pouring, POURING. We lingered for a bit, I asked the waiter where the quickest place to get a poncho was, he said right out the accessible door to the Christmas shop.

We left and it was just sprinkling. A poncho was $8 including tax. We looked around the shop. They had some pretty Ice Castle things:

WDW11-08122.jpg

Before the parade started, we meet an older couple and their adult daughter at WDW for the first time. It was wonderful watching the utter joy on their faces as the parade went by. That is what I adore about WDW, watching the wonder on people’s faces.

Some Spectro pictures:

WDW11-08129.jpg

Is this the roadrunners girlfriend? I swear it looks like a female roadrunner from the Bugs Bunny cartoons:

WDW11-08130.jpg

The parade was over and we followed everyone else to the hub to watch Wishes. I could stare at the Ice Castle all night long, it’s stunning. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it.

WDW11-08140.jpg

WDW11-08147.jpg

Time for Wishes, I get teary eyed every single time:

WDW11-08148.jpg

WDW11-08172.jpg

WDW11-08173.jpg

Wishes was over and we always wait a little bit for the crowd to thin out, we wait for the mad rush and the stroller derby to end. I was almost hit twice by men pushing personal double strollers.

More Christmas decorations:

WDW11-08180.jpg

I went to the bathroom by guest relations and when I came out Bill was talking to a lady on a scooter. We had met her at previous SSW’s. Her name is Virginia and we adore her. We talked to her a bit and walked to the Pop bus stop. They had charter busses helping out at closing but they don’t have wheelchair accessibility. Two busses loaded and left, the CM standing there asked the Caribbean Beach Resort bus driver to take us, I didn’t understand this, I told them we would wait. By the time we were loaded a Pop bus had shown up. Our room was in Building 10, 3rd floor, room 303. They had delivered our luggage and the soda and water I had left from the previous trip.

Next installment…calling Reedy Creek Fire Department

Great update Tracy! I love that you and Bill are like little celebrities at Disney - everyone remembers you! Too cute! Glad the rain wasn't too bad, but it always sucks when you have to buy something you KNOW you already have! Drives us planners nuts, doesn't it? :rotfl:

Sara

Those are great pics at LTT with Bill and the characters! I also love your Wishes shots...so breathtaking!

Great update - I'm glad the poncho situation worked out. I'd hate for a little rain to ruin your day!

Those whiskers look dangerous!!!!!!! :scared1:
