We would like to know what other options other than disney we can use the points on like a trip to Hawaii, Europe or Disney cruise. Is it alot of points to go outside of disney? Are there any other catches to book a non Disney vacation?

There is over 600 locations world wide you can book. Most through Interval International. Some are decend values others are not. There is anywhere from a $75 to $95 booking fee when booking other than DVC. You can book up to 2 years in advance for these type reservations. Point wise, I find the world passport collection a pretty decend value. High week for a 2 bedroom is 270 points from a Sat to Sat - or is that a 1 bedroom..........I have searched the net for resorts in Italy and the Keys........some nice spots.

We have been to The Sagamore on Lake George several times. The pts. in the summer were high, but we knew we would never pay otherwise. It was great. We have also been there in the winter-alot less points but a great time as well.

We have used our pts. for a one night in manhatrtan over Thanksgiving. This I booked on a Monday for a Wednesday night stay. It was great-Shelbourne Murray Hill.

Still Disney but not WDW-we go to HHI and have been to VB.

We've been on tha Holland America Alaska cruise twice using our DVC points. On the first cruise, we were upgraded to a room with a verandah (probably because of the Norwalk virus cancelling the cruise the week before ours - probably got some cancellations on our cruise also). I highly recommend a verandah for an Alaskan cruise. Nothing like having your coffee on your private deck while looking for bald eagles and other wildlife. So on the second cruise, we upgraded to a verandah for about $450 per person (if I remember correctly).

Both cruises were fabulous. Spectacular scenery! I would go every year.

How easy is it to book these other destinations?
Do they need to be booked a year out...or can we easily book a couple of months out? And who do we call to book? Is it as easy as a call to member services?
