Which resort would you love to try but your family won't budge?

I would LOVE to try BWI, but I just can't get my kids away from the monorail loop. I do love CR and the walk to MK but I keep telling them about the walk back from Epcot dinners, and they are not interested at all. :confused3

On years when I want to spend less, they have enjoyed POR and are willing to try POFQ but I just can't tempt them over to the Epcot resorts.

(Oldest DS wants to try GF, but those victorian interiors in the photos really turn me off.)

I usually just tell my family where we are staying so I don't have that problem. They really aren't picky though so I know we'd probably be happy anywhere

Why not suggest the Yacht and Beach club? The pool is so fantastic and you have the advantages of the walk to and from EPCOT and boat the Hollywood Studios.

Well this next year I wanted to stay in BLT but no one and I mean no one wanted to. So. Not happening cause I really don't want anyone not happy. I am setting for WL lol. Just kidding I really wanted to stay there too :).

The Boardwalk is my 2nd favorite resort. My daughter loves it too!

I was pulling for the BWV as a part of our stay but no one was biting even though it's during F&W. I'm happy with our choices but I'd love to stay there one day. We're staying THV and AKV Kidani Savanah View.

We are going next year, 1st of December, I really want to stay at CR or even WLV's, but my sister is going and her family, plus my 2 adult kids, they all want to stay at AoA, not that AoA is a bad resort, I would like to stay there, just not during Christmas season. I will live, when we go and it is just us in May 2014 (so far away!) will will stay at CR or WL, maybe Poly depending on the construction.
I am weird, I like resorts depending on the season LOL, so I think Polly or WL would be great in May - CR during the holidays

I would love to stay at the Grand Floridian - but it has been a struggle convincing my family to save up the extra money!

Who's paying for the trip? That's who gets to choose.

Well, I did not mean to imply that I cannot stand up to my kids and make an executive decision. I ask for their opinions, we watch the old planning Dvds and have a good time planning together. WDW is not my husband's idea of vacation, so he doesn't go with us. It has always been a real 'Mom and the Boys' special trip, so I like to take their preferences into consideration. We have almost as much fun planning as we do when we get there. It is just that our preferences don't always match. ;) They are good boys and always appreciate wherever we stay.

For now, AKL is pretty much off the table because of DD5. Part of our tradition is getting her one of those Mickey Head balloons at the parks that she gets to keep in the room for the duration of the trip....well, no balloons are allowed at AKL, so DD5 wants nothing to do with it! :rotfl2:

Someday, she'll outgrow the need for balloons...I think!!! :lmao:

Good thing there are lots of other resorts to try. :goodvibes

We're with you, we like to get my DD's involved in the decision of where to stay, I am not a big fan of dictatorship:laughing: In the end they are just happy to be going and have had great times and each level of resorts. Plus it helps that since we have had a couple of rail incidents that our oldest DD does not even want to go on it again:)

I talk it over with my kids and listen to their opinions but I always end up making the decision myself. Usually I try to move us around so we get a different feel each time. We were on the monorail in January, then Epcot resort in March, then Epcot resort again in August, now booked for a monorail resort in January 2013, last year we did Kidani to switch things up. I like hopping around because then every trip feels different. :)

I would love to stay at the campground, but I can't talk anyone else into it.:(

I would really like to stay at POFQ, but the Mardi Gras "people" in the food court scare my youngest.

My family isn't interesting in staying at the Grand Floridian.

No worries though - I figure I'll just stay there on a solo trip sometime once I save up the arm and a leg it's going to cost. :rotfl:

LOL.... Love the Grand Floridian..

My family is happy anywhere in Disney! Last stay was Grand Floridian, next stay BWV (I've always wanted to stay there)

Right but you made it seem in your OP that you don't get to pick. You said you can't get your kids away from the monorail loop. Just book BW and that will be where you stay. You can still discuss all the options and watch your DVDs but in the end you will be making the final decision.

I really want to stay at the Contemporary. Thought I was going to get to in April, but DH suddenly had a change of heart and begged to stay by Epcot, so we ended up picking the YC. (Which was a compromise sort of, he wanted BC but I just couldn't get into all the pastel colors). Maybe I'll talk him into the CR next time :)

I'd also love to try the Swan/Dolphin sometime, which would seem ideal for DH wanting to be close to Epcot, but until they offer the dining plan DH won't even consider it.

We do make the decision as a family, but it's sort of like everyone has "veto power". The resort that no one has a major issue with, and seems the best fit for that particular trip is what we go with. A couple of times we have let DD "pick" the resort, but the truth is, she is so easily influenced that all I have to do is say, "Hey, this one looks cool..." and she's totally on board :)
