Ok, so I think we have decided on doing a wishes wedding.. after 3 years of being engaged, (togther 5 in oct), including one daughter (from previous relationship) and a baby boy (well he's 2 now, but he's our newest adittion).

Where does one start?? I'm feeling so over whelmed and almost don't even want to bother... but my dream is to have a wishes wedding?

It seems so far, that I have gotten negative feedback :( Mainly from my father who thinks i'm living in a fantasy world and neede to grow up! But I know once he's there and sees how wonderful and magocal it is that he will enjoy himself..dare i say even be happy??

I know this is asking alot, but does anyone have any prices on what there total wedding cost?/ including honeymoon..rooms..trip there.. food.. all of it lol I know at the very minimum it will be 10k. But how much above and beyond that? Lurky has been a GREATTTTTT help and I want to thank her 100000000x over!!

Right now, we have about 40 people invited, about 15 of them being kids!!

Please give me any/all advice you can to talk me of the ledge.. I have no clue where to start!! What does one do first? We are hoping for a Oct,09 wedding.. but may do sept due to free dining ( I kow it hasn't been annouced yet, but I'm going with Disney's history)

Thanks so much! I truly enjoy everyones Tr and pj's!

Best,
Jenn

Hi,

I think what you shoul do is search this site for BEO (this is basicly a breakdown of the costs of the wedding) and you will find alot of answers.

You should also phone DFTW and they can answer any initial questions you may have and let you know a timeline for arranging everything.

I think its great that you are going with your dream and having a DFTW and I'm sure that your dad will change his mind once he experiences your special day

Good luck

LINZ :)

Just an FYI... your hotel rooms do not go towards the $10,000. Some good news, is that kids(3-9) eat for about $20 a piece depending on what kind of menu you do for them. Kids under 3 are FREE!!

Yeah i didnt think hotel rooms went twd it :( I'm thinking i can do everything (honey moon and all) for about 17k?? That leaves 7k for dress, tux, kids outfits, invites, travel expenses, hotel, dining plan (although if we do sept it will hopefully be free!),photography,videography..etc.... gosh.. thats a lot of money :(

It all adds up very very fast! Everytime my mom makes me look at the budget spreadsheet I feel like we are working with pennies when really I have a very generous budget. You have to be creative and think about what is really important to you. Spend money where it is important and skimp where it is not. For me: photography and food are important flowers are not. Good luck on all your plans and I can't wait to hear more.

I am so glad that somebody else on here feels the same way as me! And I am really interested in reading everybodies replies!

I used to have the "living in a fantasy world" statement thrown at me all the time. I then managed to fulfill my dream of working at WDW for a year and everbody started to accept it! You can't please everbody, and need to do what is right for you!

inkedupmomma ~ I posted on one of your other threads too... i think you and i are in the same boat on all this  i have no idea where to begin. i just keep looking at all the wonderful threads here! so i wanted to thank you for asking these questions! Good luck and can't wait to hear all about your plans! :wizard:

thats all i keep doing.. looking at threads..looking at invites..looking at dresses... hoping something will pop offthe computer screen and smack me and say here do this lol... obviously hasnt happened yet.

I've been looking at posts, lurking, questioning and such for like a month now, and I've gotten SOOOO many ideas!! I'm SO glad I found disbrides... everyone couldn't be more helpful.

I agree with the poster above (sorry, my crappy short term memory has already forgot who)...decide whats important to you... flowers are down on the list for me too. I'm also using my parents and inlaws as a wedding party-- seemed like it would save friends and family a lot of money... and selfishly, us as well... not to mention, I was always going to have my mom as my MOH, so it all works out.

good luck and happy hunting!!!:cheer2:

Keep up your research you can definately do it!

We are having a wishes with our final number at 33, 13 kids.
We are at about 11500(including tax/service charge), we are using Randy for photo (our pkg-any there are cheaper is about 2300)
officiant -jack day $300
tuxedos- bought kids on ebay $75 for 3!
my dress
honeymoon- this would be up to you for cost! and free dining would help!
AP- get with the wedding so no ticket cost!
There is probably a couple of others but those are the biggies!
