We are looking for a new set for our bedroom. We have a kingsize bed, no headboard or anything and we have cherry furniture. We will most likely be painting the walls, so at this point, are open to anything. Was not looking for flowers or anything very contemporary.

Thanks!!! Feel free to post any pictures as well as I am looking for any kind of decorating ideas!!!:goodvibes

I woke up this morning deciding I wanted to redo our bedroom too!! Well after I finish the nursery ... :-)

I want a pattern I like, quality that is decent but not crazy because I like to change it up and something fairly inexpensive. I am going to check Kohls and Overstock to start with. I don't really want to spend over $100 - $150 for a comforter set ...

I'd start with Macy's and Target. Be careful, though, if you go to Macy's since they sell a lot of comforters that are supposed to dry-cleaned. In my house, all bedding needs to be able to go in the washer and dryer.

I've bought at, Bed, Bath and Beyond, JcPenney, Sears (it's surprising how nice their bedding is), Boscov's, and I used to buy at Value City, but our store closed last year. I've not bought at Kohl's, but I've seen some really nice bedding there.

I just went through this.

I ended up getting my set at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (a store I really don't care for).

I didn't want anything shimmery or satiny and a lot of stuff is like that. Macy's and Bloomingdales had nice stuff but most of it was dry clean only and I don't want that.

JC Penney had some nice stuff online but if you read the reviews a lot of their sets get bad reviews from purchasers. I like a lot of stuff in the Cindy Crawford line but all of the sets seemed to get a bed reputation for the fiberfill shifting around.

When I went to the JC Penney's store they had very little selection to look at as opposed to their massive stock on line.

The Kohl's bedding can look okay but when I feel it, I just don't feel like it will hold up well.

I bought my last set 15 years ago (it was Waverly) and the whole thing with window treatments probably cost me close to $400 but it held up well. I don't like to change my bedding often because I generally paint the walls to match.

Anyway, I found a very nice set at BB&B. It was about $250 plus I had to buy the window treatments. It is basically brown with some gold, turquoise, green in it. It is a floral motive but one that a man can live with. It is called Audobon by Rose Tree or something like that.

TJMaxx and Bed, Bath and Beyond. I like that TJMaxx carries Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger linens, two of my favorites.

I found my last set at Home Goods. I've been finding alot of good stuff there lately. Maybe too much. :lmao:

I buy a lot of stuff from Domestications.com. I have been pleased with everything I have gotten, and I believe them to be reasonable.

This is where a good friend of mine gets all of her bedding too and has been very, very satisfied.. Lots of variety and reasonable prices..:thumbsup2 When they moved to their new home they had 3 bedrooms that they wanted to do in different "themes" and she found exactly what she was looking for via Domestications.. :)

The last several quilts and comforters I have bought were from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I just can't pass up a 20% off coupon!

I got a new set about a month ago from Target. :thumbsup2 They had a pretty good variety of styles.

While I didn't read any reviews and thus couldn't say that this information is not true, I have purchased bedding ensembles at Penney's multiple times and have never had a problem. What I've purchased certainly wouldn't be considered their low end line, but I've been pleased with everything I've purchased.

I've purchased bedding from Bed, Bath and Beyond and have been completed disgusted with the quality. I've also purchased bedding from there that I've been completely satisfied with too.

I think top quality can be had at any number of stores and by the same token, I think junk can be had from them as well.

I bought a huge set from HSN when I had a coupon. The set was originally almost $200 but with the coupon I got it for $120 and then had 4 flex pays so that was nice. It came with about 10 decorative pillows, bed skirt, pillowcases, two sheet sets, and a comforter. It still looks great and I had it on my bed for a few years. I wanted something new so I got a set from Bed Bath and Beyond that was on sale for $200 and then I used a 20% off coupon. It came with a ton of decorative pillows too, three sheet sets, lots of pillowcases, comforter, and a bed skirt.
