Where do you put the crib in a Pop Century room?

Staying at Pop on our 1st ever trip to WDW and have requested a crib. My questions are 1) Is it a small portable crib or a pack n play? 2) where do they fit?

I am getting concerned about the room size in general for our family of 4 and I also know that you cannot move the beds around at all to help open the floor plan up. Is there any room at all for the crib in the dressing/ sink/closet area? I would love to be able to give our 23 mo old her own space to sleep and we have often used the closet area for placing our pack n plays while on vacation. I know there is no privacy curtain at the values so I would bring my own if I knew placement of the crib would work in this area.

Thanks for any help you can provide with this.

In the dressing/sink area would be the only place I can think of where you would have room to put it...unless you put it right in front of the door. :confused3

It's a pack and play and I think my daughter put her next to the TV/dresser unit. She also got a frig and they put that on top of the table, making the table unusable...but it was only for a couple of days. The real problem was finding parking in the room for the stroller, which usually had to be folded up.

I didn't even THINK about the Stroller issue! Man-the bottom of ours is usually filled with stuff by the end of the day that I would dread folding it and finding a home for it though I guess this would need to happen on the bus back anyways.

So can anyone confirm that the pack n play will fit in the dressing area?

Any space saving tips for making the room more efficent?

( We will be buying a small styrofoam cooler type thing from a drugstore rather than pay the $10 a day as we are cheap that way :).)

The Pack 'n Play is designed to go between the TV/Dresser and the wall to the Bathroom. (It should be noted that this is where the connecting door is located, if you have one.)

An alternative location is between the bed and the bathroom.

It was indeed a pack and play and went to the left of the tv/dresser (if you are facing it) towards the entrance to the sink area. We had our full size stroller and would just put it in front of the window by the door. We did not have to close it. It fit there and was out of the way.

We were in connecting rooms with my parents so that location was out for us. We put it on the other side of the dresser/tv closer to the door.

Cribs are set up by operations folks. Pack and Plays are not.

Does mousekeeping set this up for you, or do we need to do it ourself? :confused3

Sometimes it's set up for you, others times you do it. Depends too it you remember to request it prior to arrival. Checked into the CR last September and the pack and play was already set up for us in our room. Also when we checked into the AKL in December the pack and play was set up for us there too. At Pop, we had to wait for one to arrive. At BWV in April 07, we just had to take it out of the closest and set it up.

When we were @ all Star Sports, the operations people brought in the pack n play, set it up & put the sheets (love the DISNEY sheets on the PNP) on for us. We had connecting rooms so in between the TV area & the bathroom was out. We placed it on the other side near the window. We folded up the stroller *since we had to clean it out anyway because of the buses* and put that in the closet area.

Just realizing that DVC is probably different. The pack and plays are in our rooms, all the time, so no operations person needs to be bring them.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping to partition it off somehow but seems that may not be an option. Glad to hear that the pack n play has cool sheets. We love our pack n play for trips so dd will be right at home!

We were in Pop last year and made arrangements in advance for a "bed" of some sort in our ressie. Upon arrival there wasn't one in there so we called the front desk and they sent up a Pack N Play in no time. We had to set it up.

The rooms are very, very small in Pop so you don't have a lot of options as to where to set up. The full size beds in the rooms are on platforms so you can't even manipulate the furniture into an arrangement that is more agreeable to you. We ended up putting the PNP between the dresser/TV stand and a small table. We then put all our luggage in the sink/closet area. The reason we decided to do this is there is a light in the sink area and we didn't want that glaring down on her. Also, when you use the toilet there is a light in there and the flushing sound is as loud as a jet engine.

We are very strict with schedule and still had her to bed at 8:00 every night so we were able to read, talk, do whatever using the light from the sink area.

You can't beat the bang for the buck at Pop but there was a side of me that wished we had stayed at a moderate. We had stayed at POR the visit before and we were able to put the PNP in the sink area and then use the curtain divider for quiet, light, and privacy.

I am really considering switching to a moderate for this reason. My dd just sleeps better when she has her own space and having this semi private space would make naps easier too (we plan on taking mid afternoon break). If the moderates really do fit the pack and play in the sink area then that 50 sq feet or so may be worth it for us.

Did you like the other ammenities of POR as well? I really like Pops theming /value/ kid friendliness but I also don't want a cranky baby.

We've stayed at both POR and POFQ with DD3 since she was born and enjoyed both. I thought she would have preferred some of the theming at POP more but to be honest I think she really didn't notice. She was fascinated with ducks, birds, and things we pointed out but nothing really stayed with her. I think the theming will have a larger impact when she gets older.

If the expense isn't an issue for you I'd go with the mod for the extra space, the privacy curtain, the now free refrigerators (they weren't free to the mods the last time we stayed), and I think the busses are less congested as well.
