Where do you print shirts?

I inquired about printing shirts with one of the advertisers on this board and they require a copyright for the design. It's a Mickey head. I need to do 15 shirts and would rather not do iron ons. Does anyone know of a site I could use? Thanks for any advice.

any site that would do images with Disney characters is undoubtedly doing illegally in violation of Disney copyrights. DISigners do anticipate that our DISigns are used only for personal use, nobody profits from the images and they are DIY projects

Mandy seems to be the other DISigner and will probably concur

Thanks Marion. I had requested a price to have shirts made from a link on this thread. I can do them myself, just was looking for a more professional look. Last time I used an iron on it didn't last long. Any ideas for better results?

Also, these are strictly for personal use. There are 15 in our party and was hoping to have the same shirt for everyone.

I find that dark transfers work better than light transfers. They hold up really well in the wash. I used AmyMickey's transfers to make my family some shirts and they have been washed many times (inside out) and still look good. The only pain in the tushy is having to cut around the images to get rid of the white areas around the image, but it's well worth it in the end. :)

Transfers require heat and pressure to correctly bond with the fibers of the cloth. If the bond is poor, then the image is basically melted to the top of the shirt and will not survive washing.

So, find the hottest iron you can (often measured in watts) and use as much pressure as you can.

That said, follow the instructions that come from the transfer paper manufacturer.

It is also possible that your local library checks out tools (such as a t-shirt press) to the community. You might also check the local community college or high schools. Sometimes sports teams make their own shirts or add names to jerseys. Their coaches might be happy to get some cash.

Finally, if you are making that many shirts it might not be crazy to buy a press, use it, and resell it here.

Another tip: If you use foil under the shirt when you iron, it helps raise the temperature for better bonding. :)

The transfer will work perfectly if you have NO fabric softner, use a hard surface to iron them on, don't use water in the iron(steam) and use Amy's transfers...hers have never failed me yet and I have done tons of shirts...good luck..
