Hi

We are planning on going to FL for xmas. We cant decide which year to go yet. Where does people have thier xmas dinner. I was thinking of hiring a villa and having our xmas dinner in the evening. My plans are get up early i.e 5am to open presents etc... get to the park for 8:00am so we are able to get in and then perhaps have a character lunch at Liberty and then have our dinner at 8:00pm. Any other ideas?

I am so excited for this xmas that it has got me thinking about WDW at Xmas.

What is the weather like? Can we go swimming? I am not sure whether to pay for pool heating if its too cold for swimming.

Hi Michelle, cannot answer regarding the dinner as we have never been at Xmas.
However staying in a villa is always a good option, you would definitely need pool heating which is generally recommended between October and April.

Weather , would have guessed would possibly be in the 60s or maybe low 70s perhaps, cooler in the mornings and evenings.

We are going to Ice at the Gaylord Palms on Christmas day and have booked into their restaurant. We decided to stay away from the parks on Christmas day. I'm really looking forward to it, have never been at Christmas.

The only time we went at Christmas, we had Christmas Dinner - in the evening - at LTT. They had the nearest thing to a traditional meal.

I have LTT booked for 6pm on Christmas day so I'm hoping that's going to be fab. I know the park will be busy but I just want to be there for the atmosphere.

Doing the same ourselves. Booked for Ice and then dinner in Gaylord at 6.oopm. :woohoo:

Artist Point is supposed to be nice for Christmas. It'd have to be somewhere with a traditional Christmas menu for me, can't have no roasties just cos i'm in Florida

A friend of mine went last year and they decided to miss out on the traditional meal and had spaghetti bolognese (sp?) I think..but she said it's just not the same as a bit of Turkey :D:D
I hope you have a brilliant time...though I am slightly jeslous :goodvibes

One year we did Christmas dinner in our villa, but we decided that we didnt like doing it as it was just like being at home, the whole reason for going away at this time of year was to do something different.
Last year we had Christmas dinner at 'Ohana.
The times we have been over Christmas we have found it to be too cold for swimming.

We're going to 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian at 6.30pm on Christmas Day, as it is a carvery style meal anyway, with extra "Holiday Offerings" we should have a good time, we will spend a lot of the day at the villa though first!!

How far in advance would you book meals for the xmas period?I am interested as we will be there next year.

I would book as soon as your are able to - bearing in mind you can book up to 180 days in advance.
