I plan on ordering a few breakfast items and alcohol on my arrival. And I was wondering where everyone likes to order in from?

I’ve only ever used Garden Grocer so I don’t have much perspective. Super simple interface, good selection, I don’t have to be there for alcohol delivery, and they seem like nice folks. I always read here that they aren’t the cheapest option, which I assume is true, but I’ve been happy with their service.

There is a sticky at the top ;) https://www.disboards.com/threads/resort-grocery-delivery-faq.3693570/

A couple of days ago I priced some items across a few services and the best prices seem to be InstaCart and Walmart. We will probably go with InstaCart because they go to Publix and I have to get some bear claws! Garden Grocer is the most expensive. Almost double on some items.

PrimeNow is also a favorite with really low prices - but I just got rid of Prime so did not research it too much.

Sorry I didn't look hard enough (obviously). I would remove this if I could. 😢

You’re perfectly fine to post your question as you did here. The sticky is good for some things but sometimes it’s good to ask questions in fresh threads....you get more people looking/more people likely to reply, you hear feedback on latest experiences, etc. It’s all good.

I just went and read through it and obviously should've tried there first but already seeing a lot of confusion in regards to alcohol (and cold items). Not that I am going to be drunk during my my trip but I am concerned over that due to so much extra pool time (due to the park hours). lol

Any insight on how that's working out these days?

I can only answer for Garden Grocer, but cold/frozen items are kept cold/frozen at your resort as needed and alcohol can be delivered without you being there.

They don’t chill down the beer though. Sometimes you’re just ready for a cold one after traveling. 😎

I *think* the only one that delivers alcohol without you having to be there is GG. All the others check id - not sure why the difference. Some say it is state law but you would think it would apply to GG too.

We are also considering getting an Uber ($13 each way from Pop).

We used instacart from publix. If you're looking for breakfast stuff, their bakery is amazing. We didn't order alcohol, but I'm fairly certain they will deliver that as well you just need to present an id to the driver when they drop off.

Personally I prefer to grab a Lyft or Uber and go to the closest Publix. No minimum order and taking a Lyft or Uber is probably same cost as their fee.

I generally order from Publix via Instacart. IC has been my grocery delivery service of choice for ages at home even before the pandemic so I have Instacart Express for free delivery and lower fees for orders $35 minimum. Usually we put our cart together the day before we fly down and as soon as we land I put it through. We almost always get to the resort at the same time on DME.

Are they pretty good on delivery times? I am going to assume you have to be in the lobby to sign off on alcohol?

Yeah, you have to be there to accept alcohol delivery because they have to check your ID. Delivery times are never a problem tbh, I don't know what it's like for regular non-Express members but I'm pretty sure it's 2 hour slots available regardless. They never take that long though in my experience.

We lilke to use Prime Now. They give you a delivery time window and you can actually see where they are - kinda like Uber. The only bad thing is if you order alcohol you have to meet them.

I forgot about the tracking of prime trucks. That actually seems like it would be really helpful.

I was going to say the same thing... in the current climate things could differ from info a year ago.
I'm a instacart shopper a lot of people get hot deli food, subs from the sub shop as well as alcohol delivered from publix. You can talk to your shopper via the app to make changes or meet up so they can scan the back of your DL. Some people separate the grocery orders and have the snacks and such delivered ahead of time so it's in the room when you get there. You can order from publix, aldi ,sams club, costco and a page more.
.
On our last trip I ordered food for pick up at Walmart I ordered a foam cooler to keep the drinks in... but we have a car

Interesting question. We always use the Garden Grocer and since we are DVC so we get 7-10 days worth of groceries. I was looking into prices. I found that we would save over $100 if we rented a car and we to a grocery store that isn't that close. It would also be nice to have a car to tour other resorts. Has anyone else researched this?
