Where do YOU go for your favorite beach vacation? And what state are you from?

I live in PA and my favorite beach vacation is either in Ocean City, MD or Myrtle Beach.... though I've been there so many times that I'm taking a break.

Hello from a fellow Pennsylvanian! We go to Ocean City, NJ every summer. I've never been to Ocean City, MD but a lot of folks in this area really like it!

I'm from FL, but my favorite beach is in Long Island.

Well, we've been to Port Aransas (Corpus Christi) more than any over the years. South Padre is nice, but 7-8 hours away.

My NEW favorite beach is York Beach, Maine. We went there this summer. It's beautiful! We've tentatively scheduled a return trip in 2008 to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary.

I live in Washington, D.C., but I'm originally from Baltimore, Maryland. My favorite beach vacation is in Rehobeth Beach, DE but I also like Ocean City, Maryland for a change of pace.

I'm from PA as well.

My favorite is Ocean City, MD and I kind of like VA Beach. I've only been to Ocean City, NJ once and it was okay. But OC MD has the best boardwalk, IMO.

DH is from the eastern part of PA and his favorite beach is Wildwood, NJ.

ETA: I see you're in Hilton Head... where are you staying and what do you think of HH? We stayed there for a few days on our way home from WDW and we didn't really care for it. Though, we blew all our cash at WDW, so we ended up staying at a Comfort Inn... we might have liked it better if we could have stayed at the Disney Resort.

But I also fell in love with North Shore in HI and Sanibel Island in FL.

Living in TX now so I have to explore the beaches here...living just south of you jimmiej!

I live on the west coast of Florida, but we like New Smyrna Beach or Cocoa Beach on the east coast. Bigger waves. In New York we preferred Jones Beach out on LI.

I've alway wanted to go there but haven't yet. What is good about it?

Rehoboth is a nice beach, not a huge boardwalk, but lots to do on the main drag and out on coastal highway leading into Rehoboth. It's very family friendly, but not as great as it used to me IMO. When we were hit by the hurricane several years ago, coastal flooding washed away tons of the beach so there's not much between the ocean and the boardwalk. Parking and traffic are a real pain in the tail as well. For Delaware beaches, I love to stay at Bethany Beach or Fenwick Island and then just drive to the boardwalk areas when we want to go. The beaches are a little bigger and less crowded. Dewey is good too, but it's more of a college partying crowd, so it depends on what you're looking forward to. I grew up going to Delaware/MD beaches, but for me, there's no beach that compares to Ocean City NJ.

When we lived in suburban Philly, Wildwood was our favorite beach. Then again, mostly everyone from Philly goes "down the shore" to Wildwood!

When we lived in Maine, Ogunquit and York Beach (Long Sands) was our favorite.

Now that we're here in Virginia, I prefer Myrtle Beach, SC or Top Sail, NC.

Virginia Beach is nice, but it just does nothing for me! I think VA Beach is boring!
