I've noticed that several people have these great photos in their sigs of photos of their families with an animated character in a hat, on their hand, etc. Where can you get those taken? About how much do they cost?

Thanks!

Leaving MONDAY!!!!! for WDW!

Hi

My Dh and I got ours at Animal Kingdom- they digitally add in Simba. They used to do the add in of Tink at MK but not sure they still do. Just catch one of those camera dudes(or dudettes) at the entrance or wherever you see them and ask....

Then you can purchase using Disney Photo pass when you get home. A bit pricey but fun! $10 or $12 for a 5X7 (I think)

Have fun!

We also got one with Stitch at MGM. They will come up to you to take the pics, just keep the photopass card and hand it to the photographer at locations in each park.

There used to be a photo place in DTD that would superimpose you with a variety of diff characters in diff settings. I think the cost was about $25-30 a few years ago.

I don't think you even need to ask anymore, nor do you have to pay more to have special characters added to your typical Disney photographer photo. They usually take one regular and one with a pose for the character to be superimposed.

Just don't be surprised if they don't come out. First time we had the pictures taken at MK in January, Tink was missing from the photo. Just the 2 of us holding our hands out. The second time we tried to do them again in April in MK and this time the photographer cut part of my DH's head off.

If you really want the photo, make sure to check the photo in the park before you leave. That way if it doesn't come out you have time to have it retaken.

Much to the delight of our 4 year-old DD, we had Tink "magically" appear in our photo on Main Street in MK a few weeks ago. The Photographer just took a series of pictures and then had us hold our hands out for the last one. Our daughter was amazed (and slightly upset) that Tink had come and gone so fast that we weren't able to get her autograph!

Is the photopass card given to you at check-in or something? Sorry - just confused at how to get one when we are there. TIA!

When you have your first photo taken in the park they will give you a "photopass" card which is the size of a credit card.

Each time you have a photo taken at any of the parks just hand over your card and all you piccies are saved to it! We did double check ours each day at the park just to check how they had come out. At least then you can always get another taken.

ahh ok I get it now :) do they charge for each pic or do they just hope you will buy off of the site when you get home (I would do both I am sure LOL)

Me and my family got ours when you come out of the Figment ride in EPCOT--After you walk through the image works, you come out into a gift shop--It is in there, you cant miss it. :)

Does anyone know how quickly the photos are downloaded to the photopass website? We will have our laptop with us and I would love to check the pictures each night! If I dont like something we would always have time to have them retaken!

We were there last weekend... by the time we got home that night (only 70 miles), they were already online.

Our photos were ready to print at the park within about an hour or so (I'm not sure if it takes longer for them to post on the web). When you go to one of the photo locations, you give the CM your card and they bring up the pictures on a screen foyou to view. You can pick the ones you like and print them then and there or you can have them printed and sent back to your on-property hotel.

All of your photopass pictures are also posted on their web page for 30 days, so if you want you can order copies there after your visit is over. The Photopass site works much like Ofoto does.

You may have to have the tink imposed on the picture before you see it on the website. We had ours done and went to the camera center and they "dragged" tink into my hand there. At first the girl didn't know what i was talking about and then she said they couldn't do it but i saw her dragging it on the screen! i said, that is how i want it, but it wasn't even on my hand straight. So i asked her to move it over and she did. She wasn't one of the nicer CM's we've dealt with, maybe having a bad day.

I love the DIS! I love all this information that I would never know without this place :flower:
