I have discovered that I LOVE to get a good deal and now find it annoying to pay full price for stuff. But shopping here is not like shopping in the States. I find it hard to find good deals.

Where do you buy furniture and appliances at a good price?

I like to dress my dds (11 and 5) in name brand clothes (abercrombie, Hollister, Gymboree) where can I find these clothes at super cheap prices.

I even have a hard time looking on ebay or anywhere on line because the shipping rates are outrageous!

Groceries are another killer!

I think we should keep each other updated on great finds and sales. Everyone loves to save money don't they?

Do you have a Burlington Coat Factory? They have major discounted prices on expensive stuff. And its all in good condition too.

Major Appliance: Sears Outlet Store. We got a great deal on a front load Whirlpool Washer there.

Groceries: We shop by the weekly flyers. If there's a great deal on some kind of meat, we stock up. Shoppers Drug Mart also has a lot of one day only specials like, this week, Christie crackers and cookies were $1 on Sunday/Monday. You can check out all of the grocery store's flyers online through their websites.

Clothing: We buy a lot of used clothing here. I buy only name brand, only in excellent condition, only if a very good price. There are a lot of facebook groups popping up for this, as well as kijiji. Instead of shipping, you arrange to pick it up. I have gotten dd a lot of excellent name brand clothes this way. I doubt you'd find Hollister, but there is American Eagle, Abercrombie, etc. For your younger daughter, there's lots of gymboree and Gap. Have you tried Once Upon A Child for your youngest? They usually have a ton of Gymboree. We have a great Value Village here, too. I also look for the sales. Right now Children's Place is clearing out their summer stock. I love the Tommy outlets that are popping up in those outlet squares and have bought dd a lot of pants there for under $20.

I know what you mean, I love Pottery Barn Kids but it's expensive and not available in Canada - but I have gotten bedding for the kids on eBay.

I check out www.redflagdeals.com to see if there are any sales or specials going on in my area.

I buy a lot on eBay and make trips to the states often - I go CRAZY on Black Friday in Kittery ME - I bought Gymboree PJ's for $4 (I got 10 pairs ;) )

I have toyed with the idea of getting a US mailing address in Houlton ME (1.5 hrs from here) so I can get the cheap US shipping offered by so many companies but haven't done it yet - most likely before xmas.

Pottery Barn kids 'stores'? We have one nearby:confused3

Not sure? We have one at Sherway Gardens tho...about 15 mins from me

Us Maritime Province people have nothing!!
I want a Gymboree and a Bath and Body Works at the least. I did see that in Dartmouth Crossings we are getting a Bed Bath and Beyond.

I second www.redflagdeals.com. I love that site. They post 'hot' deals in your area. Because of that site, I was able to get a Bosch counter depth fridge for $1199, which usually retails for $3500.

I have used the internet for some amazing deals over the years. I have bought several trips through auctions (usually charity auctions), a top end barbecue through eBay that saved $$$$ even after shipping, exchange, & brokerage, a timeshare, but saved the most in buying a new car online. The timeshare could be considered as the greatest savings if I compared what I paid ($0) vs. buying from the developer. Use the net, it is a great tool for saving $.

Seriously, you need to check out Guy's Frenchy's off of Main Street. I've been picking up loads of very gently used name brand clothing for me and DD9 - all the brand names you mention in your post I've bought seen there this summer. Leave the girls size 10/12 alone though! (j/k!)

I went to the one in Coldbrook last week and it was pretty good as well, but the one in Sackville wasn't nearly as good.

I second redflagdeals and I'm big fan of Sears clearance centre for appliances and furniture - but you have to stalk it.

I have discovered www.smartcanucks.ca for groceries, go straight to the Canadian Shopping Section and there are sooo many tips, sales, coupon insights, plans for deals etc... also I went back to school shopping in Buffalo last weekend and found this site with printable coupons for the USA www.myfrugaladventures.com - it is incredible, I printed off a 15% JCPenney coupon and they had an amazing sale on so I ended up getting my daughter a pair of beautiful embellished jeans for 2 bucks!!!! It was insane, I got secret deodorant for free because of a coupon for $2 off and the site told me Target had it on sale for 1.99 I could go on and on....Check it out befor eyou go to Florida again
