Where do you check in for VGF DVC rooms, not resort rooms?

Also, where is the construction for Poly tower? I have not been keeping track, but it seems I read you see and hear it from the DVC building, not the resort rooms. Have I got that wrong?
If so, it sounds like the resort rooms are currently preferable over the DVC rooms. Any downside to staying DVC rooms in Dec?

You either do online check-in which we've found works beautifully or turn to your left after entering the VGF1 (original) building if staying there. There are 3 desks with cushy chairs for you to sit and CMs to get it all sorted for you.

I believe the resort studio check-in is at the GF front desk since it's closer to the resort studio building.

We just returned last Sunday from a week in VGF1 and heard absolutely nothing from the Poly construction when in our villa. Don't worry about where the tower is. You'll see it if you go outside, of course, or ride the monorail which runs right beside it for a short distance. No big issue.

I expect your experience to be like ours, better because you'll be there for the holiday season splendor.

Pick which you prefer and can get, the original studio or the resort studio. VGF is a lovely DVC experience, and the GF a glorious place to be in December. The decorations are magnificent.

Enjoy for me, too. I'd LOVE to be GF-home for the holidays. 🎄

Thank you. Which floor do you pick? I will be staying in a studio, and thinking 3rd or 4th floor.

Quite welcome.

We haven't much choice of location because DH needs a specific handicap accessible room. There are only two in the original building.

You can request a particular floor but have no guarantee you'll get it. Really, I've always been happy there wherever we are; it's such a beautiful building. In fact, I prefer a standard view which often overlooks the monorail. Loves me that Disney monorail sliding past for my enjoyment. 🙂

If you need to do physical check-in or need bell services, anyone with a VGF room reservation (in either building) can check-in at either the lobby in the original VGF building or the main lobby of the GF hotel, except that the original VGF building has check-in and bell services available only between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., so if you arrive outside those hours you need to check-in at the main GF lobby.

Thanks for this info. We've no interest in the resort studios so have always stayed in the original building. Personally, I'd go to the GF front desk for the resort studios building. Much more convenienty located, IMO. We enjoy meeting and chatting with the CMs in the original building so always seek them out even though we use online check-in.

You needn't use bell services at all if going directly to your room upon arriving, easy to do when texted your room is ready. Just stop off at the original building's bell services kiosk that's outside the entrance and ask for a luggage cart if needed. We like that DVC is more DIY than standard hotels, but if you prefer more service, do as you wish, of course. I presume you can get a cart at the GF's bell services desk, too.

You will need to check your bags with bell services at either until your room is ready. They'll keep them secure and bring to your room once you're in it. Great service at VGF.

I would think they will accommodate check in at either location. Although If I were staying in BPK, I would check in at the Hotel main building and if in the Villas check in at the VGF1 lobby.
