Last year we paid over $5 a gallon for gas because we could not find a gas station near the airport that sold gas at a decent price. We will be driving from Tampa area so we will not be near Dis. Where should I fill up?

I have filled up at the Hess station on property near the Boardwalk, more than 20 times. Always among the lowest price in the area.

We always use the Hess right outside the 417 ramp. {across from international drive exit, or Royal Caribe Resort} It is a good 18 miles from airport. But, have never had an issue with national on return. Gas tank always is still beyond full. :thumbsup2

Likewise

I would fill-up before leaving Tampa and then look for a station closer to the airport. You would only need a couple gallons at most.

From the airport exit off 417 take Boggy Creek Rd south about 1 mile. There's a Circle K/Shell station on the corner of Boggy Creek and 530. It doesn't show up on google maps though, but it's there.

Might try the Hess at the 417 on ramp next time.

I tried that a couple of years ago and that station was closed. It looked to be under construction, so hopefully it is open again. Please advise as to whether you have been there recently.

Also, we buy gas near Disney and have never had a problem. I filled up at the Circle K on 192 west of Disney and was still on full when I arrived at the airport.

If you "will be driving from Tampa area so we will not be near Dis.", then you will coming up I-4. You may wish to exit at SR 528 and go east toward the airport. There is a 7-11 on Tradeport Dr., the last exit before the toll booth right before before the airport. You can spot it and zoom in here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Orlando+International+Airport,+7900+S+Conway+Rd,+Orlando,+FL+32812&aq=0&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=29.081881,71.71875&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Orlando+International+Airport+(MCO),+7900+S+Conway+Rd,+Orlando,+Orange,+Florida+32812&ll=28.452694,-81.340542&spn=0.031468,0.070038&z=14

Exit SR 528 to the right. Stop at the signal and turn left. Go under the highway overpass. You will find the 7-11 on the left corner.

Hess as long as I am going straight there. Never been a problem with Alamo returns.

The Circle K/Shell station on Boggy Creek south of the airport exit off 417.

When we rented a car in December, from Alamo, it said right on it that a receipt with a fill up from a gas station within 10 miles of the airport was required if you did not prepay gas. I believe we got off the exit before the airport. Luckily, we did not need that much. I remember it being high.

Yeah, I've seen that note, and saved receipts for that reason, but I've never been asked to provide the receipt when dropping the car off (at MCO and other airports).

This is exit 9 off 528 (Tradeport/Conway)

When done, go left (north) out of the gas station and get into middle lane (May need to take another left to find the middle lane depending on which side you exited the station)

Required right onto McCoy a block or two later. You're only two miles from the airport and you will then skip the last toll booth.

Next light is 436 (Semoran Blvd.), turn right to enter the airport.

That's a good tip and I do this all the time to avoid the toll booth. However, I hesitated to mention it because it can be tricky. Maybe with the map and your directions, people can do it without error.

Take the Lanstar Blvd exit (not sure on the spelling) it is within a few miles of the turn off for the airport Easy on/off and the prices have been similar to others in the area.

Does anyone know a gas station close to MCO coming from Cocoa Beach? We could not find one in Jan, we are going again in July so would be nice to know where one is...my dh typical man, will not look and is willing to pay what they charge at the rental company....sorry guys....:lmao:

If you are driving on SR 528 (The Beachline) exit at Semoran Blvd. north (AKA SR 436) and drive "about" 2-2½ miles north to Hoffner Ave. (SR 15) where is a traffic signal. There is a Mobil station on your left (partially obstructed by trees). Use that one. You may also see two gas stations (on opposite sides of the street) at Butler National Drive. The one on your right side is a "Suncoast Energys" station and I don't know what the one on the left side is. Neither is a major brand of gas station. Do not stop at either! They have the highest prices in the nation. I kid you not. They have been fleecing unsuspecting visitors to Orlando for years.
