Where do you buy AP's, and how much would it cost for our family of 6 (two adults, kids ages 10, 7, 5, 4) I do not know much about these, but I see a lot of you all have gotten extensive rooming discounts with them! I am all for discounts! :thumbsup2
THANKS!!!

Only one member of your party needs to have an annual pass to get the AP discount. That being said, the discount may or may not be available for the resort you select and the date of your trip. Some of us are waiting for the March 2007 codes to come out. Currently, the discounts only go until February 14th.

That is a GREAT piece of info because when I saw the prices I was scared off being that I don't live in Florida. HMMMMM, excellent idea! :teeth:

And I think one of those APs can be for a child if you opt to get just one to take advantage of the potential discount.

This is one of the many reasons I love it here! :wave2:

I thought it had to be an adult AP to do that.

I thought I read somewhere on these boards that you could use the child's AP for a discount. I think I'll post this question over on the resorts board.

I always buy mine at the local AAA office, and appreciate the Florida resident rate. But I think the price is good for the other states as well at the AAA office.

Enjoy.

You can no longer use a child AP to book a room with discount, AND never buy an AP for the discount alone as you may well not get one. they may not offer any when you want to go and when they do the alloted rooms sell out VERY quickly.

You must have an ADULT AP to get the discounts for the rooms. You need to be an adult to reserve the room and therefore must have the adult pass.

Slightly OT, and apologies in advance if this is hijacking: does the AP become active when you buy it, or when you activate it? I mean, I know you can't use it until you activate it at the park, but for expiration purposes is it considered to expire a year after purchase, or after activation?

If you buy a voucher, your pass becomes active when you turn in the voucher for the activated pass. And expires in one year from activation. If you purch an actual pass at one of the parks, it becomes active at time of purchase. And expires one year from that date. You could conceivably buy the voucher 18 months before your trip as vouchers don't expire and activate it when you arrive at the park.

And my previous post on using a child's AP for the AP discount was wrong, wrong, wrong.
