Where do all the racers and families/spectators go after the race? I know that it ends in Epcot, but is that where everyone stays? Is Epcot going to be packed out that day? DH and I are taking some first-timers starting on 1/11, and Epcot was first on the list. HELP!!!!! We don't want to be at the super crowded park! We can easilly go to which ever park is going to be the least busy, I just need to know before we leave which one that will be :confused3

Another question...When do we get to sign up for next year's marathons? We don't want to miss the sign up for the half. DH has been running for the past year and has completed his first 5K. Through 2009 he is going to be doing a few 10K's. I've started running with him with the goal being the half in 2010! :cool1: I'll probably end up in the 10K, but I'm sure DH will be ready for the half :thumbsup2

TIA!

Me, I am going to the hotel for a SHOWER....

Then either Epcot or AK. I am going to let the boyfriend decide. I am NOT doing MK however and I don't think we will do the Studios. A lot depends on when we get going again since AK closes earlier. (or we could do both, we have hoppers!)

I think sign up starts the Monday after the race.

Don't sell yourself short. You are WELL ahead of me a year ago. I didn't start doing anything until this past Spring. If I can do the half so can you.

(Plus the only other option is a 5K not a 10K, so just aim high!)

For me after the marathon I know I am going to be going back to the room (we are staying at the Dolphin so its a walk back through Epcot) and I am going to be taking an ice bath and then hopefully to Epcot but most likely just to see Off Kilter play (I know you want to see them too Carol - LOL) depending on how I feel we might venture over to MGM (or whatever it is they call it now - LOL) I actually have been so busy planning for the marathon that I didn't really plan out my days after at the parks.

The boyfriend goes HOME Sunday morning. I head to Frostproof for a few hours with mom and dad and then Sunday evening... I know I will make the last two shows!

I take an ice bath, a shower and then go find a great place to eat. I am not really into walking the parks but I will if it means food. Last year we went to Epcot and it didn't seem crowded at all.

The race starts and ends OUTSIDE of Epcot so the park itself is not jammed with people once the race is over.

I go take a soak & shower to get the uhhh, ummmm, AROMA off of me.

BTW, registration for next year opens on Jan 12th (next Monday). The Goofy fills the quickest, the full the slowest

Thanks for all of the quick replies! It helps alot with the planning. And sheesh! That is a long time in advance to sign up. Is the $$ due at registration?

WE will walk back through EPCOT back to BWV. But on the way will stop by Rose and Crown and have a beer(as long as it isn't raining like last year).

Yes, you pay for the race at the time of registration. Be ready to register because the Goofy & Half fill up very fast!

On the Disney Endurance page it states the 2010 registration opens January 12th. I would treat it like getting an ADR and sign up early on that day.

I'll probably grab something to eat then bathe oh so cold water-ish and then I'm heading for a nap! After nap I walk. Saturday and Sunday and on and on...

I registerd Goofy in Feb. It was still open.

I wonder if they will open more for Goofy registrations this time. It makes sense to me to do that. If folks want it, by golly why not!

Lily,

Have you done both parks in one year, in order to get all medals? I'm thinking of doing that....I want to do the Goofy, but don't think I could walk that many miles?

I did both parks in 2006 but, alas, they didn't offer the extra medal. sniffle sniffle...wait, I think I hear violin music.

Wherever you go after the race, wear your medal!!

I'm going back to the Wilderness Lodge for a shower and then heading out to the parks w/ my medal on, but I don't know which park yet. I love how so many people say "congratulations!" all day to me when I wear the medal!

:sunny:

I like you idea Robert. What time you plan on being at the R&C? And would you like some company?
