and the other playhouse disney characters? Are they at universal studios? Is that a park included in the ticket or something I have to be sure to add? We have a 4yo who I am sure will like seeing the different playhouse disney characters even though he is at preschool now and doesn't see them most days on tv anymore. He still knows who they are. My other son who is 8 would probably like the area that has Zach and Cody and other disney program people. Is that in the same place or extra too? Thanks.

Oh Pepper, you need to do some homework hunny!! Universal is Disney's competitor, not at all part of Disney! You will find the Playhouse Disney show at MGM Studios which now has a different name... Hollywood Studios... something like that. BTW, incase your wondering about SeaWorld... that's not a part of Disney either. Its just (If your going to Disney World in Florida) Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, and then DownTown Disney. Get going on Disney.com and take a look at all they have - I think you can even do it by your children's age.
If I'm missing anything (I haven't been to Disney is a few years, so I'm sure I am) let us know!

The Playhouse Disney show at Disney's Hollywood Studios (at Disney World) just added a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse section & a Handy Manny section to the show. If your kids are 4 & 8 there should be no reason to go to Universal (which is a totally different complex & company than Disney.) We did take toddlers to Universal as there is Barney there which was a good show, but not enough to spend the money on a completely different park & company.

You definately need to do more research. I don't know where Zach & Cody are but I know Hannah Montana & High School Musical are represented at Disney's Hollywood Studios as well.

Read, read, read, research, research, research & you'll have a great trip. I recommend a trip to your local library & get every single Disney World book they have & read every page. Then come on here & fill in all the extra details needed. Your kids are the PERFECT age & you will probably fall in love with Disney World, if you do the research in advance.

You can meet Handy Manny next to the Playhouse Disney attraction in Disney' Hollywood Studios. Here is a picture of him with my son!

Don't forget Animal Kingdom!

As as the other posts said, your best bets for playhouse Disney Characters is Hollywood Studios (formally MGM).

And, just in case you don't know, Zach & Cody, Hannah Montana, are "unanimated" characters, so you most likely won't meet the actors in the parks. Not to say there won't be activities centered around their shows, but, unless you are extremely lucky, Miley Cyrus and Cole and Dylan Sprouse probably won't be around signing autographs.

gotcha. SORRY about that! Thanks for the info. I know MK, AK and Epcot. I am not sure what the others are. I get confused especially with all the use of shorthand like ADR and stuff. There is so much to remember about what and who is at which park and how to get ADR and so on and so on. I understand what you are saying about zach and cody not being around. That is not a big deal. The playhouse disney stuff will be cool though for the 4yo.

Sharpmom, I do realize that Sea World is not part of Disney. We are getting free admisson due to DH being in the military so we are going since we will be down there. We live 19 hours away from Disney in PA and will be driving.

Those darn acronyms are a killer, I know! You can find out what all of them mean at www.stitchkingdom.com (I always check there when I come across one I don't know!) I'm from PA, too! Good luck with that drive -- I haven't attempted it yet!

Labdogs, that pix of your son with Manny is darling! Love the pencil behind the ear! Just adorable!!! great shot!:thumbsup2

Thanks! Manny was so excited that DS had his Handy Manny t-shirt on that he made a huge deal about it and after he signed the autograph book, he took the pen and put it behind my son's ear. It was hysterical. DS does that all the time at home with pens and pencils anyway because of watching the Handy Manny show, so it was perfect!

Speaking of ADRs, if you want to eat with Playhouse Disney characters you could schedule a character meal with Jojo, Golaith and Leo and June from Little Einistiens. It is at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM) I think the characters are at lunch and breakfast. If youare interested call Disney Dining.

I too would recommend a guide book. I love the Unofficial Guide to WDW. It is big but just break ti down and it is a great source of info.

Ask more questions, this is a great resource too.

Have fun!

Here's a site that might help you find different characters: http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/disneycharacters.html

It doesn't list Zack and Cody but that is a live action show so I don't think they do character greets.

Love the stitch's kingdom site the pp posted. That's pretty cool. :thumbsup2

Also, Ditto the recommendation for a planning book. We like the Unofficial Guide to WDW in the past (touring plans dot com) or the passporter (www.passporter.com) is a great one too.
