DH and I want to do a nicer sit-down dinner at EPCOT and try a country out. I've always wanted to try San Angel Inn because of the atmosphere, but have heard not so good things about the food. What suggestions do you have? DH is sorta picky...doesn't eat seafood or many veggies...but I like different stuff so a place that can suit both is the best. I have checked out menus, but would love reviews based on personal experience!!! Thanks!!!

We ate at San Angel Inn last month and really enjoyed it. Make sure they seat you in the main dining room and not back in the corner by the restrooms. We also ate at Le Cellier where I had the best steak I have ever had. We ate at Rose & Crown pub and it was good as always.

le cellier in canada is fabulous! we have dined there several times and have enjoyed everytime. the cheese soup is wonderful and my husband loves the steaks. also, on the children's menu is a dessert~chocolate mousse~it is great and adults can order it!!! le cellier, you won't be disappointed. :teleport: :earboy2:

San Angel is very atmospheric. The food is excellent IMHO, but not to everyone's taste....if your DH is picky about food, this may not be your best choice. China's sitdown restaurant was ok, but we have better at home. It is lovely, though! Norway was a buffet when we last ate there......lots of fish as you might expect. I liked it, but the choices were somewhat limited. Desserts are great, though and the dining room is very pretty. Italy has some good entrees and I like it here a lot. I love the antipasto offered at lunch. Germany is not my favorite; we ate there a while back and I was underwhelmed. However, many of my friends love it and the atmosphere is fun. France has some wonderful dishes and is best for dinner. I loved it there! The Rose & Crown Pub is fun. Fish and chips and the citrus salads are favorites. It's fun to watch Illuminations if you can time it right. One of my favorites! Le Cellier is pretty basic, but good. Rather costly at lunch; may be a better value at dinner. The restaurant at the Livings Seas is excellent but $$$$. I love the atmosphere. Tables are close together...try for a booth if you want privacy.

Like your DH, Im a picky eater. I would have a hard time trying most of the country restuarants in Epcot. Im sure they are all very good, but Im not very adventurous.
I have been to Alfredos, but not in years. I know I really liked it then though. Friends of ours went about a year ago and they enjoyed it. We have eaten at Le Cellier and it was good. However, since we tried Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club, I would have a hard time returning to Le Cellier for steak. I would most definitely choose YSH first, and its just a quick walk or boat ride from Epcot.
Good luck choosing!

i would recomend Alfredos in Italy it has a great atmosphere and a good choice on the menu. there deserts are irresistable. the only down side is it is slightly more expensive than some of the resturants but worth it.

Chefs de France would be good if DH sees something on the menu he'd go for. Le Celier would be good for him, I don't know about you. Alfredo's and San Angel are okay but there are Italian and Mexican restaurants everywhere.Maybe Rose and Crown, not too romantic but they have some conservative choices and some a little more adventuresome.

Have you considered Bistro de Paris? It is the "upstairs" French restaurant above Chefs de France. My mom and I had a girls weekend and really enjoyed our dinner there. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. You could try new things (maybe even the chef's tasting menu) and your DH could stick with good standby's like salad, beef, chicken, etc.

What a problem...deciding where to take DH for a special dinner! :flower1:

Whatever you choose, I hope it's magical! princess:

DH and I love Chefs de France. The food is excellent. We also like Rose and Crown. The shepard's pie is very good. If you have more specific questions abouth either of these restaurants, feel free to ask! Enjoy your meal!

Do you have to have PS for any of these Epcot restauraunts? Are is PS only for character meals?

We really enjoyed our dinner for 2 at Alfredos. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Can't wait to go again!

You can make PSs for these restaurants. They arent always necessary if you can be flexible with your times and dont mind waiting a bit. But if you really know where and when you want your meal, I would recommend booking a PS. During some busy times they dont take any walk ups. Last year on Christmas Eve we overheard the hostess at Le Cellier telling people who were trying to get in that they were booked through Jan 1.

Depending on the time of the year, it is always wise to ensure you will have a seat with a PS.

If you are undecided, you may make PS the same day at the Guest Relations lobby next to Spaceship Earth.... the side with Mickey's arm. However, you may not get a whole lot of choices, especially with dinner, and ESPECIALLY since they are now offering the Disney Dining Experience to AP holders as well as Florida residents.

I've eaten at San Angel twice and it's only b/c of the atmosphere. I don't know if the food is more authentic or it's just not my style, but I'm not crazy about it.

However, Le Cellier is a winner! My first visit was in October and the best meal I've had to date at Disney (and I've eaten quite a few places). I have a Restaurant Review link in my sig if you are interested in hearing more about it...

Happy Planning!
