Tuesday, July 27 (9:00pm show) [No Spoilers!]
1) Front Rail (red Wet Zone, dead center)
2) FastPass
3) Red section
4) For the 9:00pm show, there were 3 lines formed next to the red buoy pointy-thingie. (See photos below.)
5) 99.999 % dry (it wasn't windy)
6) The view was excellent!
Brief summary:
We got red FPs for the 9:00 WOC at 10:14am. We got in line at the WOC viewing area at 6:52pm, and we were at the front rail in the red Wet Zone at around 7:34pm.
We really enjoyed the show!
Here are some details.
To get WOC FPs, we got in line near the GRR FP machines at 9:48am. We waited in line for 26 minutes, and we got red FPs at 10:14am.
On Tuesday, July 27, they set up three lines (red, yellow, & blue) next to the red tower.
Here are the three lines. You can see the colored flags.
Here's a photo that was taken while we were waiting in line:
The FP said to return between 7:30 & 8:30pm, but there were already many guests in line at 7:00pm.
The red line started to move at 7:31pm, and it was pretty orderly as we walked to the right side of the viewing area (we walked from the red buoy toward the general direction of the Golden Zephyr).
If you want to go to the red Wet Zone, then you really have to get over to the far right as you enter the viewing area. We had to backtrack a little bit.
We arrived at the "dead center" red Wet Zone spot around 7:33pm; there were only four other people in the area. We got the zone!

These photos were taken after the show:
Here's the view from the center of the yellow Wet Zone (taken after the show). This spot looks just as good as the "dead center" red Wet Zone spot.
Here's the view from the far left side of the yellow Wet Zone (also taken after the show). This view isn't as good -- you can see that the pole for the lights/speakers gets in the way.
IMO any spot that's between the center of the yellow Wet Zone and the red "dead center" Wet Zone is excellent!
It was not windy, so we stayed dry.
I have also watched WOC from the front rail in preferred, and at the spot that's in front of the VIP section. I liked the view from this spot the best.
IMO with Preferred Dining you don't have to spend "DL time" getting FPs (which is good). But if you want to stand at a railing, then the Preferred Dining doesn't save you time waiting before the show. If you want a front rail in the preferred dining section, you probably should get in line between 6:45 and 7:00pm, and if you want a front rail in the red Wet Zone ("dead center") then you also should get in line between 6:45 and 7:00pm. IMO the view from the "dead center" red Wet Zone was better than the view from the front rail in preferred dining.
Hope this helps.
