Where did you put the...... garneska can't find anything for the next 3 months

It’s Saturday night 9:45. At least I can report good news.

1. Dad is home. He called me at 1 pm a little sad as he thought they would nit let him out and 30 minutes later mom called me to say he was being discharged. He had been waiting on the cardiac dr to approve discharge.

2. we did not paint this weekend. Something to celebrate there.

3. got the condo as clean as I can. Bathrooms scrubbed. Bedrooms vacuumed. one sofa back in living room and lights installed by sofa. (Sofa up from storage was Thursday, lights installed today).

4. laundry all kinds of it done and more to go tomorrow.

5. an easy run in some crappy weather this morning.

so went to moms about 4:30 to help dad at home. Oh boy glad we did that. He is still weak but actually was moving pretty good. I think we will be fine while on vacation assuming mom and dad don’t kill each other. The crabbing back and forth is awful.

one bad thing at the hospital was the orderlies mixed up people. They brought my dad down for dialysis. Seriously my dad had to tell them twice it was not him. @Teamubr wth. I said to dad did you show them your bracelet. He said yes they scanned it and still took him to the dialysis place. Thankfully someone finally listened to him and it was straightened out. will go over tomorrow to check on everyone,

Sunday we packed and went to my folks house. Dad is getting stronger. Mom is sick so I am worried she has pneumonia. They told me to go on vacation. I do think everyone will be ok but man the bickering. Mom is mad because dad’s pants don’t fit. I suggested getting some sweat pants as easier to pull up. Then she complained about the material and I said just let him try it. I am just glad he is wearing pants 😜.

This morning I went for a run. Knee is ok not great but ok.

Right now we are in Florida heading to the hotel on Miami Beach. Hopefully that knee holds up. I am looking forward to 10 to 12 miles tomorrow along the coast.

So you had a problem with your Dad running around with the Man Thongs you got him for last Christmas ?

Last night the internet was slow at the hotel but not at 6:30 in the morning, pretty sure no one is up. going to take advantage of that and try and post some pics.

we got to our hotel, the Betsy, it is quite nice. It is not cheap but cheaper than a Disney deluxe property. it is two buildings joined together by some art called, the Orb.

found a rooftop deck with chairs looking out over the ocean. we just explored yesterday until dinner. I was starving. Dinner was a Byblos. Mediterranean food. Everything was delicious.

we had beets with yogurt, octopus, a black truffle flat bread, and then main. We shared the short rib kabob and had Brussels sprouts and cauliflower. Bert had a fancy drink to kill time so I could have dessert. Dessert was amazing. Baklava but spruced up with a mint ice cream in the middle.

we got back I was exhausted I think I fell asleep at 8:45.

plan for today run and we might go sit on the beach. Our room includes two chairs, towels and an umbrella on the private part of the beach so I figure why not. Oh must do a proctorEd COVID test today before heading on the ship tomorrow.

After posting I wanted to go run but it was raining. Said it stop soon but not really, so to make the most use of sitting around to run we did our proctored Covid test. We were both negative and it worked out fine. It did take a bit longer than I expected but it was done. I went to run then because the weather was not going to be great. I started at 10 am. I did my 12 miles. Generally it was not raining but I had rain and puddles. Bert also did 4 miles. Showered and decided with the weather to stay at the hotel to eat. I had a Cuban sandwich it was really good. The rain will be here all day so hanging out at the hotel till dinner.

Got a parent update. Mom is feeling better. Still coughing but better. Dad is doing good he saw a dr today and it went well.

Great news all around.

I was afraid you were going to say you slipped in a puddle and tore something up. You didn't say how the 12 miles went, but you are in Miami, so it couldn't be too terrible. Great that mom and dad are better.

Hopefully the weather improves for the cruise.

As for the knee it held up better than expected. I ran this 12 miles faster than the last one by 4 minutes still nit where it should be but getting there, especially since my knee was bothering me a lot yesterday. I am Figuring from the travel. Now I also had 39 feet of elevation gain in my 12 miles so that might have helped the knee.

Whoa! I'm glad Donna didn't see that when we were down in March. I would have never got her out for a walk. :love2:

39 ft total? That must have been up and down the curbs about 100 times.

Let’s catch up from Tuesday. The rain stopped around dinner time so we were able to walk to dinner. It was about a 1.5 miles. Nice to see the Art Deco buildings.

Dinner was at Stubborn Seed. We did a lot of research to pick a fancy food restaurant. We had a tasting menu with wine pairing.

First course was a cheesy puff. I forgot to take a pic.

Second was the oyster.

Next tuna tartare definitely a highlight

Next was rigundi or a cheese pasta thing but with truffles. I love black truffles so loved it.

Next was a red snapper stew.

The beef course wagyu beef cheeks. It melted in your mouth.

Finally dessert. The first dish was a olive oil cake with blueberries and then a chocolate fritter. I thought the fritter was better.

Everything was delicious. We were able to walk back to the hotel and hung out in the lounge listening to the piano player.

Fell asleep last night watching the braves game. This morning was sunny and warm. I did get out and run a little faster than I should have but I survived. Knee is still hanging on. Ran south this time and took a few pics.

We packed up and then got some coffee and a snack.

We are currently in the Uber on our way to the port.

We made it. The room is pretty swanky. We decided to book a suite since cruise prices were cheap. First this boat holds 2,200 passengers and there are only 700 on board, with 5 under 18.

My brother texted and said dad is not good and neither is mom so I am trying hard to relax. Not much I can do. Dad told me to go on the cruise.

Had a nice sail away from the heliopad.

I honestly didn't know cruise ships had rooms that big.

Enjoy.

Criminey that veranda is 3 times the one we had at AKL. Hopefully the problem with Dad is he is back to refusing to wear pants. In any case we will keep both your Mom and Dad in our prayers
