Where did you put the...... garneska can't find anything for the next 3 months

Been a stressful morning. Dad was very down this morning, but it is the afternoon and he now seems a bit better. fluid in his lungs is still bad but pulmonary team said X-ray looks better so continuing with the lasix. Trying to avoid a procedure to eliminate the fluid. We were able to see him, one at a time. He was definitely doing better. He even ate some food. From this morning his spirits are better and am sure the visit helped. It’s 2 pm but my adulting for they day is done. I really need a nap.

Glad to hear that Dad is improving will keep him in our prayers.

Hang in there Kris. CHF is a roller coaster. There are amazing drugs today, but it is a balancing act.. More of a tightrope walk. Good cardiologists can manage the dance, but it doesn't take much to fall. Sounds like he is on the right road. Odd they won't let you see him. We have relaxed our visiting policy a little and I work in a vaccine/covid denier state.

Glad to hear your Dad is feeling better. We also have very strict visitor restrictions in the ER where I work. I know that it is very stressful to our patients and their families. Good that he is now on an inpatient unit where he can have visitors.

Kris, thoughts and prayers for dads quick recovery. Glenda was saying we should all drive down and do a grand tour of the condo when it's finished

@tigger92662 seriously you might want to plan it for 2022. No work today either. today I was obviously preoccupied but tomorrow I am contacting contractor. Seriously I don’t think it will be done at Xmas at this rate. Plus the couch has to get moved up from storage in the next two days.

Kris, I'll call the crew if you want and we will just come down and finish it if you would like.
Finished our entire upstairs addition fit and finish in 10 days
We clean up the mess, including any evidence, we're good at schmoosing building HOA's and are relatively cheap (depending on where you by your alcohol):drinking1:wizard::rolleyes1

Its thursday. no contractors. this also means i have to move the couch. when i moved it down i jacked up my wrist for about 3 months so this will be fun. I hope to gus this gets done before next year.

Dad is still in the hospital but i have access to his mychart so i am getting lots of good info now. First compared to Wed when he told the NP he thought he was going to die, today he said i want to prove to you guys that you can release me tomorrow. That is good. However I do think, in my professional opinion which means little, they are going to have to drain his lung. They did another chest xray today and it was unchanged from yesterday. That is what makes me believe they will drain it. I think if it was better they might have waited.

Getting his lung tapped (thoracentesis) isn't a huge deal. A lot depends on where and why the fluid is there. Fluid from CHF is often dispersed throughout the lung tissue. Think of a sponge full of water. For a thoracentesis to be the most effective, it needs to be "around the lung" . Depending on how much fluid he had on board and for how long, it is quite possible to have both going on.

Either way, getting fluid drawn off (tapped) is fairly minor in the procedure realm and will definitely get him feeling better, faster if the problem is fluid around the lung.

I am glad your father's health is improving. It can be tough and everyone has a different stress over those things.

It might be time to get a little stern with the contractor, no-shows are not a good sign in my book.

Dad is supposed to be discharged today. I have not seen anything in his chart so i am thinking he won't actually leave till dinner time but they have told him they are releasing him. while i was out today i made my stop at Kroger so I could get dad the kit kats he wanted. I got kit kats and reecee's peanut butter cups. We can share.

Update again. The cardio dr was not happy with dad’s heart rate so hopefully only one more night in the hospital. I am going to call him but am afraid he is going to be grumpy. On the flip side easier for me to go out tomorrow than today. I had to get some work done.
