Where did you put the...... garneska can't find anything for the next 3 months

To finish up Saturday. After breakfast watched the first half of the Cincinnati game, of which they looked terrible, so at halftime we did errands. Went to Home Depot and grocery store. Then got back and taped the ac hole. No pics because I was cutting tape, peeling the backing and handing to bert. I think it’s the last of the projects in the RV for this trip. Once that was done, it took 2.5 hours just being tedious not hard. so it was about 6 when we were done and cleaned up. While taping, Cincy played much better the second half and won, which we did not see. the dinner plan was salmon on the grill, except about 5:30 it started raining and was not stopping so got take out.

picked up dinner and then watched Penn State. Nice job guys! Go Big 10. They played good this weekend.

plan For today is to hike but not sure on the weather. after Hike is to sit outside and watch football and get a fire going. Not sure any of that will happen because of rain.

So the day ended up being pretty lazy. I will makeup for that next weekend though. When I woke up it was raining and rained most of the morning. Decided not to go hiking. We have the gear to hike in the rain but since we are leaving soon I did not want to deal with wet gear. The afternoon kind of rained lightly at times. We watched football indoors. Then at 5 decided to risk it and started the fire. It would be the last campfire for the trip. That meant we had salad, hotdogs, and s’mores. it rained a few times on us but lightly and we survived. We did put the tv away though in case it rained hard. we hung out by the fire till bedtime.

the next two days are more rain all day. Going to be fun for morning runs and cooking dinner. Plan is to cook all the meat for the week on the grill tomorrow so we can work on cleaning it up.

When do plan on moving back to your Condo? I wish we could get a little rain. It keeps going around us.
We are heading back on Friday. I am actually very excited. Still won't have a kitchen and while I did not dislike living in the RV. I can do it when i retire, working from here everyday was a little meh. Some is because i associate the RV with vacation and there was absolutely no vacation here. I only had one day off that i hiked the other days off i painted or worked on the RV. I will try and force the rain to you. It is raining all day today and tomorrow.

I managed my run outside. I think in the one hour it did not rain. I am not sure about dinner tonight. It is 4:30 and raining. It does not look like it is going away soon. I may say we eat leftovers tonight but cook at 8 when the rain stops so we have something for tomorrow because tomorrow is not looking any better. My run really has me concerned. It is a speed workout day and i will NOT do speed work on a treadmill. I really need to get outside. I may have to move my run till no rain and hopefully no meetings (this is the hard part).

Sounds like you finally have the A/C sorted out... just in time to start using the furnace. That's usually how my projects go. I wasn't as energetic this weekend. I did get up early and vacuum the pool this morning. Biggest things today are to air up the tires on the coach and trailer (done), add in basic stuff to the camper (TP, paper towels), start loading tools for a 2 week 2000 mile trip, check and adjust the trailer brakes. I didn't think the brakes were working since I rewired them and replaced the magnets. They work, just terribly out of adjustment. Donna broke our weed eater (2nd one this season), so it's off to Lowes to get a battery one to match the other Kobalt battery things we have. We have had corded ones that are cheap and generally lasted a season before something fatal breaks. I'm hoping spending a little more will get it to last a little longer.

Today is our last day here at Crossing Creek RV Resort. Tomorrow we will head home. This thread will remain until my condo is finished, but i wanted to wrap up the camping part of this.

Living and working in the RV for 2 months:

The good news is I feel like I can do this in retirement. Live in the RV for a long time. I am not sure I enjoyed working from the RV for a long time. Our situation is such that i am in our reclining outdoor chair at the foot of the bed. It just fits and every night i can fold it up and get it out of the way. However it is quite small back here. Bert gets to work in the living room, setup on the kitchen table. It gives him a lot more space and way more comfortable than being in the back. i did not work outside at all because it was either too loud, too hot or too rainy. Also I equate the RV with vacation and working and i did not get vacation. Any days off where to do other projects. We did get one hiking weekend and that was it. I am looking forward to going back to the condo, but I absolutely love being in the RV, just want some vacation with it.

Projects tackled in the RV in the last 2 months:

- Replaced the heating element in the fridge - Kris and Bert
- Realigned the slide - RV mobile guy
- Fixed the propane system - RV mobile guy
- Fixed the draining of the front AC - RV mobile guy, Bert and Kris (i helped by handing them stuff)
- Replaced two lights and did a few other electrical light work - Bert
- Cleaned out every storage space on the inside of the RV (no basement) - Kris
- Sealing of leaks in the RV -Bert

Stuff still need to be done in the RV:

- Found leaks so now need to fix walls that have been rotted out
- need to dicor the roof
- bedroom awning broke (2 days ago) the awning is fine it is the fabric piece that you hook on the RV to keep it out. the hook broke.

Today we are working and trying to pack up. The hope is to leave by noon tomorrow. I do have to run in the morning. It will be a hard day. When we came up to Crossing Creek, Mallory came with us. She was weak and only a little happy, but she did chirp the one night we were all here. Going home I will have no mallory blocking the way to the bathroom and the car will have a lot more space to load up to get back to the condo.

In the next few days you will get more condo updates. I know the kitchen is still not done. Hoping to get cabinets the first week of oct. Planning to paint the kitchen ceiling and pantry this weekend.

Regarding working and living in the RV Kris, when we moved to Florida we lived in our RV for three and a half months. I was actually surprised how well it worked out. I worked every day using the kitchen table and my phone as a hot spot. Luckily my wife had retired from her job in MD so we didn't have to share space. We didn't feel cramped and actually enjoyed it. It was a good experience as now we know how to do it efficiently.
Glad it worked out for you!

I have to write about Friday. Got up and ran in cold weather. Ugh waited as long as I could but since we wanted to be gone by noon, had to start around 8:30. It was 42 out, my first cold run. It was not bad And got it done. Side note my knee is a complete mess. I think it was from painting over Labor Day but has now hurt since then. This important for when I get to Saturday. After run it was shower and pack up. Did good off site at noon. left campground at 12:20 After hooking up car. Then gas at this station that is so old but no good truck stops between camp and storage. This place actually works good for the RV but I like big truck stops.

on the way home by 12:35. I looked back once and saw my great big opening where Mallory would be. I did not take a picture. It also seems car did not chirp. We did nothing different from the drive up. Got to storage at 2:20. Without Mallory and rearranging the car it was a quick turn around. At the condo before 3.

much to our surprise very little had been done. We were very nit happy. The only thing done was caulking of baseboards. There will be no ceiling or pantry painting and worse was the stove still in the middle of the master bath. Contractor coming on Monday and yes I talked to him Friday. Only good news is cabinets are to be delivered in Oct.

now we needed to plan. Put cardboard under the stove and we were able to slide it out of bathroom and into living room. Next was me filling the nail holes for the baseboards in bedroom while bert hung tv. Then 3 trips to the storage unit to get the bed up. finished by 8:30 so at least we slept on a bed. The day was packed and I was beat, felt like my only accomplishment was putting a bed together ☹️.

It will get done soon. Don't look at what was accomplished in one day, just look forward to the whole project getting done.

Time for Saturday. I will post from the laptop and then upload pictures. I had plans to run with a friend of mine on Saturday, he was supposed to meet me at 8:30. I slept badly Friday night. One without curtains up it is bright lights big city. My knee was also bothering me, i think my advil had worn off. I was ready at 8:30 but my friend was late so we started a bit later. I had 10 miles on the plan. This was the first time since March i was running that distance. I had a calf strain in April and May that slowed me down. Then between PF trip (hiking), painting and moving stuff for the remodel, i just coasted on running. i was still running 40 mile weeks just over 6 days and nothing higher than 7 miles. I went into Saturday with my knee hurting, fueled by pizza for dinner the night before, and lots of exhaustion from Friday.

I did get my miles done. I had lots of hills and in the campground had been staying flat. Between the hills and the distance, my knee was very very very angry with me. I got back and then we moved the dressers out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. We hung the drapes so i could sleep saturday night. Then i finally showered and after that it was time to paint. I normally paint along the floor (which is how i think i originally messed up the knee, but running made it worse) and bert paints the ceiling edge. I told Bert there was no way i could paint on the floor. At this point my knee was huge and mobility extremely limited, also some pretty good pain. He did the floor, so i was on the step stool doing the ceiling. Of course my back was killing me. I was a wreck but we managed two coats of primer and one coat of color.

Next we headed out for dinner and again i was done. Went to bed but slept terribly again. It was nice the blackout curtains were up but the knee was screaming at me. I got up around 4 and took more advil in hopes i could sleep till 7 on sunday since i did not have to run.

The master is basically done except for picking out new rugs for the floors, a new bedspread, and some more pics. On Saturday Bert said the bedroom was like The Wave at Disney. It is all beige so we are trying to get a few more colorful things. We do plan to put the pics of the dogs up in the bedroom so there will be some rearranging of the pics still. Mainly the Mickey pic will go over the other dresser and then the dogs will be where the Mickey pic is. When i post about Sunday i will show you the hallway we painted.

The bedroom looks great. I wish I was closer, we have so many great Disney pictures sitting in the storage bldg. Our office or Arnold's room was called the Disney room. I actually love living in our 44 ft Cyclone. I do miss the monthly trips & of course to "The Fort". So sorry about your knee, I hope it will improve quickly.

Time to recap Sunday. First it was a running rest day and boy was I happy about that. I think the knee was looking more for a running rest week but more on that later. I woke up at 4 am (i think knee pain) and since i was not running that meant i could take advil. I did and was then able to sleep till 7:30. My knee while less swollen than Saturday was still very very very angry with me. I guess now it was 2Xs bigger than the other instead of 3X. However i still had one coat of color to put on the hallway. We stuck with Bert doing the floor and me doing the ceiling. Good thing is the room is smaller so it took under an hour to finish.

Next on the plan was to move some more things up from storage. The big one was the big heavy secretary that belonged to my grandmother. It is old, which means it was build well and one heavy mother. I knew when we took it down it was hard so with a bad knee and bad wrist (wrist is bothering me since moving stuff to storage) i knew this would be hard. We did it though. Got a few other easy things up and then it was time for errands.

Next everyone's favorite trip to Home Desperate, because when you are doing a project you need to go a few times. Got about half the things we needed. Then stopped at TJ Max got some salad plates that are like bowls. They are shaped similar to something we have in the RV that i liked for salad so was glad to pick them up. Turns out it was a very good thing as we forgot paper plates (not even on the list) at Kroger and all the plates were packed. Those are the only two things we have to eat off of. Then of course Kroger for food. That is a bit of a challenge without a kitchen but got some pork chops and chicken for the grill and soup for the crock pot.

After that i have no idea what else we did. It as quite a busy weekend and with my knee the way it was i was not happy. I had to run on Monday and i already had a PT appointment lined up for lunch time so i was hoping she would not make me see a dr.

Monday and pics of the hallway coming up in another post.
