I know there have been polls asking where the best resort would be, but I was just wondering where everyone stayed/ are going to stay for their honeymoon at WDW, and why did you stay there.

We are taking the 7 day Western on the Magic. I am really excited about that!

We spent the first half of our honeymoon at the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is our favorite Disney resort, and if we could have afforded it, we would have stayed there the whole week. We love walking around that whole resort area at night after we get back from the parks.

We switched to the AKL for the second half because we got a great AP rate on a standard room and DH insisted we stay at delux resorts for our entire honeymoon. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a Savannah view room. I can't wait until we can afford to stay at the AKL again. It was such a great resort, and I LOVED having the animals outside our room. DH and I tend to spend quite a bit of time on our balcony at Disney (reading, eating breakfast, etc) and having the animals to watch was an added bonus.

we'll be at the yacht club concierge for 10 days then were leaving for our honeymoon in st. lucia. we choose the yacht club for its ease to our wedding at the yc gazebo & view request of the gazebo. we also wanted to have a quiet, romantic resort near all the action (epcot, boardwalk & mgm).

We did POP Century. We're young and I'm still in graduate school, so money is not super abundant. I'm one of the people who is happy with a hotel as long as the room is clean, so we would have been fine offsite as well. So, I saw it as a splurge since I'm used to staying offsite and paying $40ish for a room and couldn't see spending a ton more. It was worth it for us solely because of the pools! We had so much fun swimming everyday, way better than the pools at other hotels I stay at down there. We were totally happy with our decision (oh and we had a king room) and would definitely stay there again.

We will be spending one night at Pop Century, 7 nights on a Western Magic Cruise, and then 5 nights at AKL.

We chose a night at the Pop Century Resort because are a usually All Star visitors, and we wanted to see how this new hotel was. We will probably do Downtown Disney or something that evening since we leave for the cruise the next day.

The Western Cruise was a no-brainer. We were able to visit the Magic a couple of times for events while it was docked in CA and, we fell in love. We had to include a cruise with our honeymoon!

After that, we are getting great rates on the AKL and could not pass them up. We are so looking forward to experiencing this resort as a whole. We have been there before for breakfast only and it was beautiful!

We are staying at the contemporary.
We chose this because we found it to be the least expensive deluxe hotel on the monorail. We were even able to get a room in club conceirge with a view of the castle.
I have stayed at the contemporary a few times before too, and I love it!!

5 nights at the Wilderness Lodge with courtyard view. :cloud9: We didnt decide until about a month ago. We were up for MNSSHP and rode buses most of the day visting all the the resorts but still found it very hard to decide. The WL just seemed so peaceful and beautiful.

We did a week at the WL. It fits our personalities to a tee. It was close to the MK, had water activities, and was relaxing. We had a courtyard view so we were able to watch the Electric Light Parade from both our balcony and the beach.

We're actually moving around a lot. Our first 5 days in Florida we're not going to any Disney parks. Since we arrive during peak Easter season, we're spending 3 nights at Shades of Green (but might change the last night to the Poly since that is where we actually spent our honeymoon), 2 nights at the Nick Hotel (doing Sea World), 1 night at Hard Rock Hotel (to get FOTL at Universal), then we'll be at the Beach Club for 5 nights (vow renewal during this stay) and then moving to the Contemporary tower for the last 4 nights.

I'm going to try to pack for each stay so that we're not draggning a lot of luggage. Also, since we are there for two weeks, I'm only taking one week's worth of clothing and then doing laundry at some point.

We did 4 nights at the WL (we were married at Sunrise Terrace) and then a non-Disney Caribbean cruise. I love WL and DH had never stayed there. It was really nice to leave out Intimate and go right up to our room :goodvibes

The cruise part was our first test as newlyweds. At the time I was in hysterics but it worded out. We were supposed to cruise to Mexico and Belize - until Hurricane Wilma hit! Our ship actually ended up evacuating people from Mexico. We ended up on a cruise to the Bahamas and that turned out to be fantastic. Neither of us had ever been there and we got a really nice upgrade due to the cancelation. It all worked out in the end!

:earsboy:

When my fiancee and I go on our honeymoon July 2007, we'll be staying at the Grand Floridian. We figured if we were going to go to WDW, we might as go all out. We're both extremely excited and we've already started talking about what we're going to do while we're there.

We did our first 4 nights before the wedding at Pop, it was very very nice. Then we had a horrible 7 nights at Saratoga, but it was free on points, then we finished with 4 glorious nights at Wilderness on concerige, it made the trip for us. It was super nice and well worth every penny.

We split our stay between a honeymoon room at the Grand Floridian and a garden suite at the BoardWalk Inn. We absolutely LOVED both of them. We really saved and saved to splurge on our honeymoon, and for us it was worth every penny.

We love the GF because of it’s overall feeling of pampering. Adding concierge service to this already fabulous resort was really the icing on the cake. We also loved our honeymoon room since it had such personality (it was one of the turret rooms). Of course, having the convenience of the monorail is always a plus.

The BoardWalk Inn is also a wonderful resort, and we can’t say enough good things about the garden suites. They are so romantic and are really cute. We love the convenience of being able to walk to Epcot. Plus, the whirlpool tub was very nice too (it’s huge!).

If anyone wants to see them, here are links to my photo albums with pictures of both rooms:

We will be staying at the AKL. We will be there August 6-12, 2006. I am EXTREMELY excited. My fiance and I wanted to take the opportunity of our honeymoon to really enjoy ourselves, since it is probably the biggest vacation we will be taking for a long time. We love the idea of having the animals outside our window. I think it is going to be the perfect hotel...fun but romantic. If anyone has any information about the AKL, please send it to me!!! I am information crazy about this stuff right now...I am just too excited. My email is tinkerbell105354@gawab.com or hnmbride@yahoo.com.

We spent 3 nights at the Contemporary before the wedding and then moved to the Boardwalk Inn in a Garden Suite for the next 5 nights.

well our official honeymoon is on the Disney Magic for 4 days. But we are getting to spend a week before the wedding in Disney as well!

We are going to spend our 4 nights at WDW 3 before and 1 after the wedding in the Wilderness Lodge and then fly to Whistler Canada for the honeymoon.

We are going to spend 2 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge before the wedding and then 7 nights at the Polynesian! :cool1:

Hey there...
For my wedding last month, we stayed at the Coronado Springs.
We wanted a King Room and that was the only place you were guaranteed one.
We really wanted to stay at the Polynesian for our honeymoon...but they didn't have King Rooms. Can you believe that? What a let down.
We were deciding between the Coronado Springs and the Boardwalk.
We went with the Coronado Springs because of the views. There are so many GORGEOUS FOUNTAINS AND VIEWS to take pictures of there.
Visit allearsnet.com to see tons of pictures of Disney Resorts.
Animal Kingdom Lodge has decent prices too and they have king rooms. But I thought Mexico was more romantic than animals at that point.
Thanks
