"Where did y'all get those shirts?" Fried, Tie-Dyed, and Places Mickey Hides.

I'm disappointed...considering the Latin American/Southwest theme of Coronado Springs...no one got my Albuquerque joke... :sad2:

Love the CSR pictures--I can't wait to get there! DD was looking at them with me and was more concerned about the snapping turtle than the alligator! We should never have told her the story of her dad catching a big ole' snapping turtle instead of a bass when she was a baby!

Mavis is a Spiney Soft Shell.

If you want to see some Snapping Turtles...go to Dollywood and look in the creek next to Reds Diner...saw about 5 the last time I was there...2 really big ones.

I hope you were using zoom on your camera for the photos of the alligator, that is to close for my comfort. I am a northerner and reptiles are not the norm here. Our wildlife has fur.

Glen seemed very acclimated to humans...as he would float off the side of the Laguna Bar seating area. People...mostly kids...would throw him bits of food... and yes I was zoomed in on him...I'd say he's only about a yard long nose to tail...Just out of site in my shots is a very tall concrete wall...which there seemed to be a wall around the whole lake...with the exception of the Cabanas area...but I think the was a barrier under the Bridge that crosses a narrow section that leads to this unwalled area...I believe Glen is fairly well contained.

AGGGH! This makes me crazy. Why would people let their kids feed alligators?! Acclimated or not, its a wild alligator.

Bugs Bunny <<looking at map>> "I Knew I shouldn't have taken that left turn at Albuquerque"...

**intro snorting Bull**

<<<<WHACK>>>>

"Stop Steaming up my tail!!! Whaddya' tryin' to do, Wrinkle it"..

<<<Ram>>>

"of course you realize, this means war."

I seen him eat a fish too...fishy swam a little too close. :fish:

Glen has been at the CSR for some time now...and as far as I know Disney hasn't tried to have him removed...

If it were a problem...I'd say they would hang a sign that says "Please don't feed the Gator."

Disney is filled with those "tree-hugging save the speckled owl types"...if it were a danger to the Gator...I believe they would not allow it...by simply removing Glen to another environment.

And as far as the childrens safety...there's a good 4-5 feet from the surface of the water to the seating area I took the pictures from...and a Rail.

(Take a look at the 2 pictures showing Everest...you can see the wall...also if you look at the pictures where I say ..."More Views across the lake"... you can see the wall...and the Umbrellas of the Laguna Bar...where I would later find Glen.)

Mind you neither Tiny nor Boy fed the Gator...as we typically don't do that sort of thing anyway.

That's my Fed Fuzz coming thru for me... :cool1:

Figures it would take a guy in the middle of Miami ...ummm...the Sahara....ummm...I mean Iraq to get it!

Now don't go making footy prints all over my desert. :lmao:

Still entertaining us with your trip report Nate. Reading the reports are a pleasure I enjoy as well. However, ;) I feel no guilt. It's my right!!! Pity the one who tries to stop me. Anyway, that's a bit dramatic but, you are still doing a super-fantastic job.

Can't wait until my trip in....

You can have this desert.....:lmao::lmao::lmao:

By the way, that's a tiny alligator by Florida standards.....let me take you down to Lake Okeechobee for some bass fisin' if you really want to see some monsters!!!!

Of course, Kissimmee and Toho have their share, but the big O just seems to have a whole herd of dinosaurs living in it..

your pictures are amazing....I would very much like to stay there. Maybe when the kids are a little bigger and can handle the longer walks. DS thought it would be great to see a real alligator so we now have plans to visit CSR to find him in January!!

Thanks for tending the desert for us. :thumbsup2

I'm a "skeeter" magnet...I probably wouldn't last 2 seconds in real gator country...:scared1: ...I'll stick with my Mountians.

While I took my picture in the Morning...that was the only morning I saw Glen...I did see him twice in the evening...right at dusk. Mavis the turtle always seemed to be hanging out though. also if you ride the Living with the Land ride in Epcot...there are a few gators there too.

Great job on the TR, I have been away for a while and have just caught up reading the last four posts. I have never really thought of CSR but after seeing your pics and reading about it, I am definately adding it to my list. We have stayed a POR and love the landscaping and walkways there. CSR looks very relaxing. I finally got your Albuquerque joke, but it took me some time to really place it. :lmao:

Love the hidden Mickeys my kids and I bought a book a couple of years ago and have started looking for them as well. Lots of fun.

Thanks for a great TR:thumbsup2

Glad you are caught up...hope everything is going well with your dad.

The CSR is relaxing...though we didn't get that much relaxing done...beautiful place too.

Got a few more Hidden Mikey's in store.

Before I continue...I need to retract a statement in the previous posting...

We did NOT eat at the Pepper Market this morning...we just got drinks at Rix and wen to Panchitos.

and one more announcement...I hit the big 4-0 tomorrow 9-4-2009. :scared1:

I noticed there was a whole page of comments between the last post and this one...only one excuse...Fantasy Football!!! :cool1: I've been conducting 2 very long and slow e-mail drafts...

now back to the show... popcorn::

So we are close enough to walk in as the tram was leaving and we didn't want to wait on another one being that we could actually see the entrance.

The boy's and I get thru with no problem and I collect their tickets as I'm going to head to Everest as soon as Mel gets through the Bag check and entrance. She gets through and we all walk together until we exit the Oasis...then I got right and they go left to Isle Merchantile...where I'm to meet them after I get our Everest Fast Passes...Animal Kingdom is really crowded today...busiest I've ever seen it...though I've only been here twice.

I've tried not to mention them...as they really weren't a problem to us...until today...July is Brazilian tour group Month. If you've read any other July trip reports I'm certain that you've read some horror stories. I luckily don't have any of those...but they do tend to make for long lines. Let just say there was a Buzzillion Brazilians at AK this morning...all teenagers...with very young tour guides. :headache:

Maybe the hopper option would be worth the extra $200 Nate...:rolleyes1

Anyway I zigzag my way thru the Brazillions...and make it to Everest...get Fast Passes for 2:40.

On the way back I take the path that goes from Asia to Africa...this route rock...no people...well very few anywho...I make it to Africa take a left over the bridge and to the Isle Merchantile. They are at the register sending packages to the resort...and Boy is trading a pin with a cast memeber. He liked the Hidden Mickey pins they had this year...you buy them in blind packs...and your bound to get a duplicate...and he had...he was trying to collect all the Map Icons like the FP for FastPass...and the DDP (Dining Plan)...Height requirement logo...etc.

So we get done shopping and we are hungry...so we decide to try the Pizzaffari... Mel, Boy and I get the Itallian Sub, tiny gets a kids Pizza.

But here's where my title for this segment comes in...after I order 3 Itallian Subs...the cashier ask...will you be getting something for the Child's Meal... i'm standing here by myself...everyone else went to get a table or the restroom...I'm like yes the Pizza...and he swips my card and 4 credits...and I'm still like...he hadn't swiped my card yet...how did he know my party size? Oh well mental note...figure this out later...we eat and the Subs were great...Tiny liked his pizza too.

We head down to Camp Minnie-Mickey to see when the next Lion king show is...this is one of Mel's favorite things to do...I think everyone enjoys it. Darn we just missed one and we see one starts right after the Parade...so we decide to come back then...as Mel loves the Parade too...and we like ot watch it outside of Pizzaffari. So we leave CMM and head to Africa...I'm about an Hour from being able to get Fastpasses for Kiliminjaro...so we check out the Gift shop...then catch the train over to Rafiiki's. This place is so neat and informative...the Rainforest Audio show is neat too...amazing how good the sound is from those headphones...must be Bose?

I have Tiny recreate a picture I took of him in 2006...see what y'all think...

And here is Boy trying to escape being photographed...
IMG_0282.jpg

Tiny opted not to do the petting zoo...and you know what...it's hot today...so I go to the Ice Cream cart and what do I see!!! Pineapple Bars...Nathan must try!!! I get one, Boy and Tiny get the Mickey Ear bars...Mel...wel she got a phone call and I couldn't get her attention...she's on her own.:rolleyes1

Pineapple bars...#2 favorite snack...Dole Whip still #1.

Mel ends up stealing my snack...while talking on the phone......that's ok I get a whole new one to myself...:)

so we get back to Africa and I me and Tiny get our Saffari FP's...4 something...so we decide to head over to Dinoland...we go via Asia so we can go past Nemo and check out Times for that show...we note that the final show is at 6pm...we will shoot for that. We get to Dinoland...and Primevil Whirl actually has a line.

My previous 2 trips to AK...Primevil Whirl was always Vacant...ride as many times as you can stand vacant...but there is actually a 30 minute wait...I'm like lets go check out Dinosaur...there's a line but this line moves pretty quick. We get thru the preshow after only waiting about 20 minute and get in the line for the actual ride...there' this little boy just pitching a fit on his folks...but Mel convences him...this isn't a scary ride...I elbow her...ummm any way the boy gets on...and I'm certain he still has visions of the evil lady that told him this wasn't a scary ride. :lmao:

We take our very rough and scary ride thru time and bring back a Dino...for the post ride photos Boy was sitting on the side where the big dinoburst out beside you and roars...then flash they take you Picture...I wish I had gotten the print...cause Boy looked just like this :scared1: :rotfl2:

So we go back to Primevil...still a line...but Boy and Tiny like this ride...so we wait...and wait...One side has broken which cause a little delay...and wait...I'm starting to see why my fellow Dis Dad Don doesn't like this...and wait...I do see these guys though while waiting...
IMG_0325.jpg

There must be 2 dozen or more Mickey's on this ride. They try to fit all of us into one saucer...but man look at us...we ain't going to fit in that...so Mel and tiny take one...Me and Boy in the other...this ride is allot rougher than I remembered...OK...once is enough for this trip...time for Everest.

Next Everest...Bugs...Parade...etc.

and one more announcement...I hit the big 4-0 tomorrow 9-4-2009. :scared1:

Congrats! and :bday:

I thought that the Brazilian tour groups were all there in January with us?!? It made sense to me since they were in their summer in January.

Keep up the good work with the report. Still enjoying... popcorn::
