Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

Our final Disney day......

I'm not liking how this starts out. :sad2:

1721.jpg

This, however, I like! :yay:

I have never liked that floppy mop of hair they put on him when he becomes human. They could have given him longish, but still 'pretty' hair, and he'd be so much more handsome, I think.

2.30 am for ME? OMG! Do they actually run at that ungodly hour?

Oh....Great pictures :thumbsup2. I really enjoyed looking at the BatB ones. My boy won't go either. :sad2:

What a fun filled morning at DHS! I'm fortunate that my boys will go see BATB with me, at least so far they have been open to it!

I can't believe your ME pick up was at 2:30 in the morning :scared1:

Stupid Airlines!! BOO to changing your flight that is no fun at all!!

Umm next you visit TOT and you go by that sign, take a real close look down and where those letters fell down...you might see something "VERY INTERESTING"!! ;)

Love Love Love DHS!! I can't wait to be there again! One of my fave parks!!!

Oh no!! :sad2: Airlines really suck sometimes....I would have cried too:hug: Infact, I probably would have called the airline and had a hissy fit on them!

I love your ghosty picture on ToT!! That is an amazing shot! I love it when the sign reads a "13 minute wait":thumbsup2I really enjoyed the Indy pictures too since I never do that show anymore...I've seen it too many times and after going on the ride at DLR, I'm just bitter that WDW doesn't have the same one! I think though that I'll have to give it another go in September! And your pooh and tigger drawings are fabulous!:goodvibes I'm gonna have to give the drawing another go too!

Btw - I just saw on the weather channel that the freezing rain (:headache:)and 15 cm of snow (:headache::headache:) I'm getting tonight is from a system in Iowa....thanks a ton!;)

I'd already had a hissy fit on them when they changed my flights but really, they didn't care how it inconvenienced me!

I was pretty pleased the ghost picture turned out!!

Can't wait to take my boys to see Indy, I know they will love it. Greg was on youTube last night and said something about an IJ ride, didn't realize that was at DL

Sorry you are getting smacked by this storm. We had thunderstorms here last night and a couple tornadoes in the state, luckily the snow stayed away

A picture of Bo is always relevant as far as I am concerned! :goodvibes

Glad you liked!!

You know, I wasn't sad to see the final day come. It was a fantastic trip, I felt like I had gotten to do almost everything I had hoped and I was feeling ready to go home to my family. :goodvibes

I agree, that hair could be MUCH better!

2.30 am for ME? OMG! Do they actually run at that ungodly hour?

Oh....Great pictures :thumbsup2. I really enjoyed looking at the BatB ones. My boy won't go either. :sad2:

Unfortunately, I think I had to be there SO early because they run only a few buses at that ungodly hour! It truly sucked to have to haul my luggage in the dark after only a couple short hours of sleep :sad2:

Whenever we watch our planning DVD, I ask my boys if they want to see it and get a very emphatic NO. How nice yours will go :thumbsup2

I just KNEW there had to be some sort of hidden meaning!! OOOOH, now I am excited to get back there!!!!

OMG - I LOVE that picture of the ghosts on ToT. Awesome. :worship: I have never had my camera out on the ride so I don't have that super cool picture!!!!!!

I had to reread your post - 230am!!!! That is HORRIBLE! That is WRONG! I mean...Come ON! If you left by 4am you would still be there in time. I would have cried too. Why even go to sleep? I would have been too afraid that I would oversleep. Might as well stay up all night. Ugggghhhhhhh!

Can't believe you are almost done.

I had a 3 something pick up in Oct. I opted for staying up instead of waking up. Best decision. I would have been wired thinking i would oversleep anyway.

I have had the airline change my flight and I made them rebook my flights at more convenient times. Even though they just changed one flight I made them rebook both since they had shorted me time by changing flights.

Oh my!:scared1: We too had a sort of thunderstorm only it was a thunder-snow-ice-freezing rain-storm around 5am!:headache: But it wasn't as bad as they said it would be!:goodvibes And since I'm having my little Ford Focus' tires replaced, I had my mum's nice big SUV to drive to work which is waaaayyyy better in the snow! The road was all bumpy and stuff but () whenever that happens I try to pretend I'm secretly driving one of the safari vehicles at Kilimanjaro!:thumbsup2 Hope you kept nice and cozy inside!

In other Iowa news, I saw that one of the state's school footballer players is the new face of the Ken doll! You should have nominated Greg!

I forgot that 'the fam' was still back at home. That does make a difference, and it would make it much easier to leave. I haven't been on a solo trip, but I know I would be ready to get back to see my kids and the little girls, too, and give them some Disney surprises. :wizard:

I was a bit surprised the ghost picture turned out...I was pretty excited :goodvibes

I did get a couple hours which was a good thing but I think I just dozed with fear something would go wrong

I can't believe I'm still at this TR :lmao:

I have had the airline change my flight and I made them rebook my flights at more convenient times. Even though they just changed one flight I made them rebook both since they had shorted me time by changing flights.

The first rebooking they offered would have had me leaving Orlando at a much more reasonable hour but I wouldn't have gotten home until late at night and since I returned home on Mother's Day and it was important to me to spend a day with my boys before school started back up on Monday so I accepted the rediculous morning flight :sad2:

Hope your yucky weather has disappeared! I'm ready for it to start feeling like spring around here!!

 I didn't see that about Ken! Not sure my 40-something hubby (with grey hair and receeding hairline) is quite what they were looking for but probably more accurate than what Ken would look like at his true age!!

I left feeling quite fulfilled in everything we got to do and ready to go back to real life. Now that it's been almost 11 months...I'm ready to go back :rolleyes1

I see a ticker.

That wasn't there before now, was it???!

:dance3::hyper::dance3::hyper::dance3:

I just read your last update - you guys CRUISED through DHS! :woohoo: And 2:33 am?!?!? Seriously? U-G-H. So not cool. I cannot even fathom dealing with that...I hope it went as smooth as it could.

That whistler guy always has something up his sleeve.
Well, if he had a sleeve.
Looks like there's some Disney magic on the way! :tigger:

15 days of magic apparently! She needs to get on here and fill us in on the details :yay:

Is there something in the wind for you? :yay:

Hmm...why yes indeed!!! :woohoo:

Yes, given the unfortunate circumstances, departure went as smoothly as I could have hoped

I have had a couple tickers come and go but this one is for sure!

Yep, something exciting on the horizon!!

OK OK :rotfl: Nice to know I haven't been abandoned after spreading out this TR for SO long!!

************************

I had thought I would try to finish the TR before making any kind of announcement but I couldn't resist the ticker :thumbsup2

I will try to squeeze in a brief PTR as it gets closer but a little teaser...

  • We are leaving Tuesday, June 7 (last day of school is Fri the 3rd and work day on Mon the 6th)
  • 15 nights at POP
  • 14 nights on package with DDP, 1 night room-only (did you know 14 was the limit on a package)
  • 13 ADR's already booked
  • 10 day tix with the waterpark add-on to fill in extra activities and since it will be blazing hot!!

The boys don't know yet. I bought a puzzle and wrote a message on the back announcing the trip. They earn a puzzle piece if they do their jobs each morning and each night without fuss and a bonus on the weekend for cleaning their rooms. When they earn all 100 pieces, they can put it together and find out the surprise

Patrick's first comment to Daniel when we talked about the puzzle was "maybe we're going to DisneyWorld" but they have figured out that it is a star wars puzzle so they don't know if that is a clue (they don't know about Star Wars Weekends). I have also been throwing out suggestions to throw them off...like the other day they thought they could make out the letters A,G and W. I said "hey, that spells wag...maybe we're getting a puppy!) :lmao:

Can't wait for the reveal so we can start our countdown at home and start making some touring plans :thumbsup2 I of course already have park days planned out but I'm anxious to talk about specifics

Fun, fun, fun!!! I'm so excited for you Katie :woohoo:

I love the puzzle idea, what a great way to tell the boys the news!

I just wish we were spending a couple of days in Orlando after the cruise, it would have been great to see you again.

What fun! Planning in secret.
love the puzzle idea, very clever!

I love how you're revealing it to the boys!! That is a fabulous idea! They're gonna be so excited! :) Love it! Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

Bummer we'll just miss each other this year!

Unfortunately they aren't earning the pieces quite as quickly as I would have hoped :sad2: The first few days they were all gung ho about it but now we've had conversations like "if you don't get upstairs and brush your teeth before we have to leave, you won't earn your puzzle piece this morning" "I don't care" If only they knew!!!

I love how you're revealing it to the boys!! That is a fabulous idea! They're gonna be so excited! :) Love it! Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

I do hope to share the plans a bit before we go :goodvibes but first I gotta finish this thing!!

Day 8 continued…

So when I last left you, we had spent our final morning in DHS, I cried when told I needed to meet the not-so-magical express at 2:30 in the morning, we packed our suitcases then headed out for our final evening at…

1083.jpg

Magic Kingdom of course, can you finish a Disney vacation anywhere else? I had a few goals for this afternoon. The first had just started when we arrived

1075.jpg

The flag ceremony

1079.jpg

It was a touching thing to experience. Next on my list was the castle show

1094.jpg

I had caught bits and pieces of this in 2008 but my boys saw the princesses and didn’t want to stay to watch

1100.jpg

1109.jpg

Guess we never saw the pirates then!

1126.jpg

1137.jpg

It was a cute show but MAN it felt like I was standing on the sun in the middle of the hub!! Sometime early in the show, Shelby left to cool off in the ice cream shop because she couldn’t stand the heat. I on the other hand had 1 last goal that was coming down the street

1141.jpg

Definitely try to catch this little parade if you can and be sure to find yourself in the center of the hub for best navigation (but maybe try for a morning one instead of the afternoon!)

1157.jpg

1165.jpg

Lots of music and dancing…and fun!

1195.jpg

I got a kick out of these Casey’s workers who came out to join the fun!

1174.jpg

After the parade, I went and found Shelby and we talked about what we wanted to accomplish with the rest of our evening. At some point I realized we had missed Snow white in our previous stops at MK so we headed there first

1201.jpg

1212.jpg

I’m really glad we did this because of course we may not get another chance…when is it closing?

It was standing in line that we got a dose of pixie dust. They announced that there would be a second showing of Spectromagic that night. I was thrilled, you’ll see why later…

Next we decided to go to one of my favorites

1216.jpg

1219.jpg

Followed by one of Shelby’s

1226.jpg

1228.jpg

1239.jpg

At this point I was hungry for a good ole burger and fries so we made our way into Pecos Bill’s

1268.jpg

Yum yum yum!!! Can’t go wrong with onion rings ON a burger and lots of cheese sauce for the fries

Or final ride of the evening brought us here

1270.jpg

We were fortunate enough to have our boat stop right night to Jack

1300.jpg

Now how were we going to possibly top off this night? Stay tuned…my goal is to finish this TR in just under a year  so stick around
