Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

Awesome F&G photos. I love the Mickey gnome for your flower pot -- too cute.

I love him too...so cute!

Wonderful pictures!!!!! I have an itch to go to the F&GF so badly after reading all these TRs.

Wandering the WS is never a bad way to spend an afternoon!! Your mini meal looked yummy too. :goodvibes

Love that Mickey gnome! He looks adorable in the flower box! I just might have to pick one up in September as well - our new apartment has a beautiful garden outside, he'd look awfully cute in there and I think my landlady would like him too!

We enjoyed our wandering but later we wished we had gone ahead and done the film in Canada while we were there or at least wandered into some of the pavillions. Dad didn't want to do it without Mom but as it turned out, we never made it back

I little touch of Disney is needed in your new garden I think!

Wow. All the topiaries look SO beautiful. I have to visit sometime for F&G.

How nice to have your Mickey gnome to give you a dose of Disney every day! :upsidedow

As if there aren't enough reasons to enjoy Epcot!

You are so lucky to have the use of your parent's CAR to transport that Tinkerbell and the Gnome back home. I so wanted the Gnome but figured it wasn't worth paying the price of extra air luggage :headache:!

Love the updates...and your F&G pictures are gorgeous.

Yes, that was a very fortunate circumstance because I would have for sure had to ship Mickey and Tink otherwise :sad2: I imagine shipping to Australia would not be cheap. Perhaps when your DH returns in the fall for his conference he will find some room to bring one home :confused3

I love the Tink that Beth picked. How cute is she!?

Sounds like a nice relaxing afternoon with your Dad. I'm interested to hear where your dinner ADR was.

Super cute! I'm hoping to see Beth this weekend and finally deliver her. Dinner update might be squeezed in later this week but it's possible it won't be until after the weekend.

I would love to go during F&G Festival - a co-worker & his family went 5/2-5/8/10 for their girls' first WDW trip and loved it. But it was so hot!

Great pics of the topiaries!

The heat was certainly unexpected in May! I'm so glad we made it there for F&G

Beautiful pics of F&G! My very first WDW trip was during F&G, but I didn't know what it was so I really didn't pay attention. :sad2: Now I want to go again and really soak it all in!

I think it would be easy to think the topiaries are commonplace for Disney and personally, we didn't do any of the other F&G events. It was great though to take the time to appreciate the details they put into them!

Great pictures! We got the Mickey gnome for my FIL when we went...we had to ship a box home because we bought too much stuff...:rolleyes1

I BARELY got everything else I bought into my suitcase. I would have had to ship it home or buy another piece of luggage and pay for a second bag which I suspect is not cheap!

Katie -

I am so glad you got your gnome. Where is that gnome now, by the way? I haven't seen or heard of him in quite a while.

I am reading from a picture-less site, so I can't fully comment until I get home tonight. Still, it sounds like an awesome afternoon in Epcot. I am so glad you were able to get Beth her Tink!

I'm not sure where nobby is these days :confused3 Last I knew, he was with Jen, did he move to Texas with her?

Sounds like you and your dad had a relaxing afternoon! It's nice to wander around the WS.

(And GO CATS!!! :)

I knew someone would appreciate my UNI homage! :cheer2:

What a nice afternoon to spend with your Dad around EPCOT!!!! I'm glad that you were able to see some of the entertainment, I love the shows in World Showcase!!!

The food looks so yummy!! It must be lunch time!!!

OOOH a Mickey Gnome! I will get one of those some days! I love that gnome!

It was a fun afternoon of "nothing"!

If you do have Nobby, he maybe needs a buddy!

What a nice afternoon you had with your dad. I bet it was neat to have that quality time. :)

It was a special afternoon for us

Great pictures from around the world at Epcot!

I love the Mickey garden gnome---sort of jealous that I didn't buy one while I was there. I looked at it several times, but talked myself out of it each time.

There are a few things I wish I had picked up but there were 2 items I knew before I left home that I would be getting and the gnome was one of them!

Wonderful trip report! Can't wait to read more :thumbsup2

:welcome: Glad you are enjoying the report!

Here's something I forgot to share before

In the seas, I did one of their test your knowledge quizes and got a perfect score! As a science teacher, I should probably expect to...but I was pround anyways :rotfl:

Just a brief personal update....

I have another job interview tomorrow. It is at the high school in the town where we live and where Greg works. The posting went up 2 weeks ago and a couple days later I got an e-mail from the associate principal who knows me and she said she thought of me for this job. She and another principal are the hiring committee and 2 of my 3 references called me last week to let me know that they had already gotten calls about me. Those are all good signs I think.

It's not my dream job but as far as non-teaching options go, this is as good as I can ask for. The job would be supervising and keeping track of students working online with a credit recovery program. The pay is decent for non-teaching, no lesson planning, no grading, no teacher meetings. It would be a contracted position so it would also include some benefits which would be combined with what we get through Greg's employment. And it's in-town so I would work only days the boys are in school so we should have no daycare issues.

wish me luck!
