Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

Sorry to hear that things weren't going according to plans, and you weren't able to get the pictures you wanted with the characters. :(

All of the food at Crystal Palace looks very yummy, though -- can't wait to be there in a month! :goodvibes

It was kind of a bummer start to the morning, I never did get Eeyores autograph and that was one of the motivating factors to planning the character breakfast. That and getting into the park early, at least I got that!

I love the pics...but I'm so sorry you didn't get the autograph or picture with Eeyore. I don't blame the kids...its the parents who don't follow the rules. We have always been told that the characters come to the table and that we shouldn't "go up to the characters." Some people are just really selfish. I'm sorry that Shelby wasn't as good as taking pictures as you. :sad2:

I've never had a made to order omelet at Crystal Palace; Mark has and he enjoyed his. I love the puffed french toast--it is my favorite (the potato casserole was not that good last time we were there...they changed something in it).

***Do love the photo pass pictures of you -- very cute.

Yes, I'm certain each of the CM's who seat people explain the rules. I understand kids get excited but you are right, as parents, it's our job to explain why the rules are there (if you don't barge in on other's time, other's won't barge in on your time!)

I love cheesy potatoes but these had SO many breadcrumbs on top, I wasn't too impressed. Shelby's omelet looked really good but she did an a la carte option which I should have done! From our conversation, she had a different chef when she went through the line who was much friendlier and accomodating

I was selfishly happy shelby stopped to look at purses so I could get a couple pictures of just me :rolleyes1

Finally caught up! Phew!

You sure lucked out with a great view on your second room assignment. Too bad about the sloppy mousekeeping.:sad2: The rooms at CSR look really nice! Those queen beds sure can't be beat!;)

Looks like a great meal at both Brown Derby and AP.

What a jam-packed day at MK!!! And then you were back within 8 hours!:worship:

Too bad you didn't get all the photos you wanted a breakfast.:sad2: Yet another excuse to take another trip, right?;)

The bed wasn't a big deal on this trip since I wasn't sharing but if DH was with me, a queen would make a HUGE difference! Both BD and AP were great meals, I get the signature dining bit!

Actually, it was less than 8 hours because we left about 1:30 and were back shortly after 8:30. Add in travel time and night/morning routines and I don't really want to think about how much sleep we actually got

awww sorry about Eeyore! At least you got a pic of him and Beth together! And great PP pics of you! Can't wait for next update!

Yes, if I could have picked one photo, that would be it!

I was happy with my PP pics :goodvibes

This does not sound like a good way to kick start the morning....hope the rest of your day went better.

And what a dilemma :scratchin. I'd like to think otherwise, but I think I would have been "THAT person" :sad2:.
We had sort of a similar situation at Chef Mickey's 5 years ago. We were there for well over an hour and for some reason, Dale never came to our table..despite having a 5 year old DS as enticement. We ended up sitting there even though we had all finished our breakfast until a CM noticed that we weren't vacating our table or asking for the bill (and there was a huge queue waiting). Dale came to our table PDQ after that :thumbsup2.

It was a bit of a bummer start but I don't like to stay in a mood like that so I came to terms with it and yes, we enjoyed the rest of the day

If the character handler had been there, I'm sure we could have fixed the problem but without that person with Eeyore, I kind of had to let it go but it stinks to be the one on the short end of that deal!

Sorry you didn't get the photos you were hoping for at breakfast. The photopass shots of you on Main Street are adorable! Someday, *maybe*, I'll wake up in time to go do an early character breakfast. Walking down a nearly empty Main Street must be pretty darn cool!

That's why I went with the 9:00 ADR! I love the idea of getting the first one and being able to hit rope drop too but that is REALLY early! No way we would have made it after that late night

Such a pretty place. :)
We have not done a Crystal Palace breakfast yet, but we have loved our dinners there.

It is a beautiful restaurant! We had lunch there in 2008 so I was excited to try for breakfast, unfortunately I am not a big eater early in the morning so I think I just enjoyed it less because of that.

Bummer that you didn't get the pictures you wanted. I hope things got better!

I don't like to dwell on things so yes, I moved on and enjoyed the rest of our day!

Does Shelby not "get" Disney the way you do? That might explain her oblivious attitude about the pics...:confused3

Sorry you didn't care for your meal. We tried dinner there at the insistence of DH's co-worker back in 2004. I hated it, but the rest of the family loved it. I'm finding out that I'm just not a buffet person, because I felt the same way at Chef Mickey's and Cape May. :rolleyes1

Shelby loves visiting Disney but is more about the attractions. She came to accept me stopping for so many pictures but she definitely doesn't have the diser mentality. She did acknowledge that as a diser, I planned a great trip!

I think that's part of it for me too. I just am not generally a buffet fan, I didn't love our lunch there either. I did enjoy our Cape May breakfast but it was a later time which made a big difference i think!

Aw Katie, that is sort of a downer. I have always taught my kiddos to wait their turn for the characters to come, they will always get a turn. At least you tried! :) I really want to do an early morning CP breakfast so I can get some of those beautiful empty Main Street photos!!

Darn, I'm sorry your CP breakfast didn't live up to expectations! I should have gone with you - I would have taken your pic with every character! I'm actually surprised that after you took Shelby's picture, she didn't offer to take one of you, seems a little odd :confused3

I loved the french toast puffs, the ones I had weren't greasy at all!

Sorry your morning didn't go as planned. Hopefully the rest of the day did. Some people just aren't picture takers.

Yeah, hopefully that mom learned her lesson!

Breakfast coming right up...

Somehow reading those two together knowing what the lesson was and the "Breakfast coming right up" made me think
Oh goodness I hope not. :rotfl2:

although I didn't think the food was fantastic, I will likely do this again just for the opportunity to enjoy the quiet!

always travel with disers, that just may be my new motto! Yes, it does seem odd that she would just sit there while I was taking pictures. Honestly, I think she took the camera out of her bag once and only because my battery died and I had left my backup in the room.

I wonder if I got a bad batch of puffed french toast because I have never heard anyone complain they were greasy, most people adore them! I guess I'll have to try again

She definitely is not a photo taker... not a diser for sure! The day picked up!

i would have the same problem too with pictures. no one i go with understands.:sad2:

See new motto above :thumbsup2

Bummer about Eeyore Katie! Your Main Street pics though are fabulous!!! What a great way to capture all the quietness! Your Photopass pics are great too!!! I always love the Tinkerbell ones!!!! Looking forward to reading about the rest of your day, I hope it turned around for you!!!

Sounds good. :thumbsup2

Well, I've missed two updates while my computer has been getting cured of its nasty virus!

First off, how great that you got a FREE Wishes cruise! :thumbsup2 But YIKES for walking into the park going the wrong way against one-way traffic! Thank goodness, you were able to follow the CMs and get out of the crowd.

YAY for closing the park down that night! :yay:

Sorry your breakfast at CP didn't turn out as you'd planned. Hopefully your day improved!

Wow--empty Main Street---awesome :cool1:

I really want to try CP for breakfast one day. Sorry you had so much trouble with the characters though :goodvibes

Sorry CP wasn't such a great experience-- I love the pic of you and Pooh, though!!

Ohhhhh sorry about your CP breakfast mishaps  Thankfully you did get your picture with Pooh :goodvibes At least you ended up with a TON of PP pictures!!! You have so many great ones :thumbsup2
I love the vibe in the morning with all of the CM's on Main Street greeting you....wish every day could start so enthusiastically!!

Next time I will try to get there a bit earlier for sure. I had planned on 30 minutes but ended up with only about 15. I was happy with my PP pics overall, a couple didn't show up on our CD which was a bummer though!

Sounds good. :thumbsup2

all my dis meets were SO fun!

:rotfl: I had the same thought about the fireworks cruise! I'm not sure how we would have managed that crowd without that wagon, we probably would have stood in one place and waited! It was a great night, I never anticipated we would close it down!

Yes, the day got better, no worries!

They didn't seem interested in hanging around. I have heard this from others who were with adults only. If you look at my pictures, you can see several kids waiting anxiously so I guess I understand but come on...I love you too!

Sorry CP wasn't such a great experience-- I love the pic of you and Pooh, though!!

I love that silly ole bear :lovestruc He was the best of the 4, he got very excited about my shirt, in fact Piglet did too which was cute! All the characters were great though about the picture for Beth so I was happy with that!

If I were an inventor, I would make some sort of alarm which would wake you up in a Disney way like that!

*****************************

Just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all the great Dad's out there! I don't think I have too many male readers (:confused3) but I'm betting most of you have awesome Dad's and I know a lot of us are fortunate to be married to wonderful ones too  (even those of us with non-Disney loving hubbies)

im going to go through the whole thread in the morning as im looking forward to reading about how you did things compared to us as we were there at the same time.

Morning Katie- I'm joining you! Just caught up (which is amazing with a 20 month old running circles around me), and can't wait to read more! I love your dining reviews!!!
P.S. we're staying at Wilderness Lodge in August, and those pictures got me so thrilled to be going! :thumbsup2

What's up with Eeyore giving you the cold shoulder???? He is my favorite. Last time I went to CP it was just Denny and I and he was getting food when Eeyore came around, so the guy at the next table took my pic.

Sometimes I think its hard to travel with people who are not super crazy about Disney. They don't appreciate the little things that we Disney fanatics want to have "just so".

ps....love the empty main street pics!

One of my all time favorite sites an empty Main street in the morning!! LOVE IT!!!!!!

Sorry you didn't have the best breakfasts at CP!!! What a bummer about Eeyore!!

Looking for more!
