Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

I can see that in my "might not return to WDW October" non-plans, that I need to spend less time in the parks and more time visiting resorts!

Loving the food porn.

Great updates for Day 2! Your new room's view is so much better, but what a shame there were some housekeeping issues.

Dinner at Artist Point looks phenomenal as do the drinks! One of these days we will make it over to WL to check it out. It is very pretty!

All of your food looks so yummy!

That blue cheese fritter looks and sounds amazing. Yum!!

I know how much you were looking forward to Artist Point and WL... so glad you enjoyed it! Hang in there on the wish... sometimes they take a while to come true. But that wishing spot has a pretty good track record! ;)

After dinner we stopped for just a few minutes to make a wish (which still hasn’t come true for me, and NO it was not for another baby!)

:lmao:

I love the WL-I think it's absolutely beautiful! :goodvibes We've tried WCC a few times for lunch or dinner, but we've never tried Artist Point. Everything y'all had looked delicious! :thumbsup2

Ohhhh you had me at bleu cheese fritter! :rotfl2: I LOVE bleu cheese!!
Dinner looked scrumptious and super score on the drinks!! That is awesome...I would have felt so obligated to drink all of them :rotfl2:
I love the Craftsman style too....my bedroom and some of my living room is Mission Style....that is Craftsman ish isn't it? :rotfl2:

I have never been to WL but hope to go take a look this time. Great score with free drinks. Food looks good. Funny how you both liked each others dessert better.

Love your WL pictures, is is so beautiful. Your dinner looks delicious! May have to try AP sometime.

I know it’s not everyones taste but I just love this style, I dream of a home with details like this floor…

I love the rustic Wilderness Lodge decor, too.

Hope that magical fountain wish comes true! :)

I hate the way Pepper Market is set up. We are huge food court people and I do not like the way they have this one. The little grab and go that they did have was crazy prices even for Disney and then I encountered a hateful CM. Just not a great experience so I am currently avoiding it and maybe I will give it another chance eventually. I'm sure Brooklynn would love the pool over there since she is now a water slide girl!

I hear you on Pepper Market. It takes some getting used to. My first trip I think I actually had a couple of rude CM's in PM. Not helpful at all. I am happy to say they have been wonderful since then. The grab and go area has been redone and improved in my opinion.
Time for a redo.
I would not go over there for a meal if I were not on the dining plan though. The prices and the added in tip makes it not so desirable if you are paying for meals. Otherwise order your meal to go and avoid the tip charge. Eat outside at the tables they have around the lake.

Another lovely update!!! Your meal at Artist Pointe looks absolutely fantastic!!! SO YUMMY!!!! I so want to try that soup sometime and that steak....hmmmmmmm

Well I hope your wish comes true!!!!! :wizard::wizard:

Day 1 continued

In our last chapter, I had drawn a hideous little critter and was trying to decide where to go next. It was just about 9:00 and the first showing of Fantasmic was about to begin. I had decided to leave it up to how I was feeling if I wanted to see the first or second show. At this point I decided that I still had a lot of energy and would wait for the second so on I went to pay my due respects to the man who started it all

florida2010116.jpg

florida2010117.jpg

I just took my time wandering through One Man’s Dream and thanking him for his amazing vision.

These always bring a tear to my eye

florida2010135.jpg

I saw the movie at the end, something we had skipped in 2008. It was a very nice story about Walt’s life and work! More tears were shed

I stepped out into the warm evening and pondered whether I would be using that long sleeve shirt I was carrying with me. Those of you who followed my PTR remember that I had much angst about finding the right park bag because I needed one that was large enough to carry the shirt during the day because with average lows dipping down into the 60’s, I surely would need it in the mornings and evenings. However, as I shared in the first post, it was much hotter than average and you won’t be surprised that this was the only time I carried that shirt. It was left in the room the next morning to never appear again! (having said that, I still loved my baggallini so the angst wasn’t for nothing!)

By this time, the first F! showing was finished and I decided to wander that way figuring I wouldn’t be able to squeeze in anything else and I would just grab a seat and wait. Of course I would never have gotten to over 3,000 pictures if I hadn’t snapped some along the way!

florida2010147-1.jpg

So I joined a quickly growing crowd waiting to be let into the theater and I waited…and waited…and waited! It was dark and I couldn’t see my watch so I don’t really know how long it was but judging by the time stamps on my pictures, it was 20-30 minutes. BUT with my new soak-it-in outlook I decided to pass the time by taking pictures of the nicely illuminated palm trees…can’t get that sight in Iowa!

florida2010149.jpg

Up until now, I had thought a few times that I wished my kids were with me but found I was really enjoying being able to just wander doing what I felt like. I also stopped to appreciate the fact that I wasn’t one of the parents desperately trying to entertain their kids during that long wait :thumbsup2

Finally we were let in and I found a great seat. Dead center, end of the row, about 15 rows up! I honestly had forgotten how much I loved this show! I would have loved my pictures to turn out better during the nighttime shows but they are OK for a little point and shoot I guess

This one was a fluke (I really just pointed the camera and pressed the shutter and hoped something would turn out) but I kind of like it

florida2010180.jpg

As I made my way out of the theater I once again stopped to appreciate that I could walk by the sea of strollers and not have to carry a tired or cranky child onto the bus and back to the room. So I said goodnight to Hollywood Studios

florida2010182.jpg

And as I rode the bus back to CSR, I tried to decide what I wanted to do the next morning about my unhappy room location. Was it worth the hassle???? :confused3

Luv n the report, great job. I know what you mean about the kids. Myself and wife visit all the parks without the grandkids and that those make a difference. Don't get me wrong, grandkids are always welcome, but it is very nice when the only hand your reaching for is your wife.

Thanks for the pics of Artist Point...it is the one of only two or three signature restaurants that I've given a passing thought to trying. I agree...the WL is beautifully done, but it just isn't for us (too much like all the lodges in Wisconsin and we had two bad run-ins with CM's there--one who lied to us when we went there to eat at WCC (which we absolutely hated) and it turned me off from staying there; but I know a lot of people love it.

Love Wilderness Lodge! Haven't tried Artist Point, but we do love Whispering Canyon!

WCC is one I keep missing but on my must-do list for sure!

We didn't really use the PM or grab and go (visited each once only) so maybe we didn't notice. Sorry about the hateful CM!

What great updates!! I'm sorry your room was icky though. I'm not really a germaphone but obviously that room was NOT clean. Bummer.

Your food looks delish! I will definitely have to put that Artist Point on my list, especially because Wilderness Lodge is my dream resort and I've never even see it. I just love that style too. :goodvibes

I don't really worry about germs either, I'm tend to not worry about things I can't see but that's why those smudges grossed me out I guess!

WL is right up there on my deluxe dream list too!

Oh my gosh, that soup sounds delish! I may have to put Artist Point on my list just to be able to try that soup!

I'm not normally a big soup eater so for me to get excited about a soup says a lot! Wish I had some right now

I finally made it back over here and got all caught up again! You got some great pics of HS. And yay for free drinks! :yay: I know someone else who really liked a blinking ice cube...:rolleyes1

Free drinks was definitely some surprise pixie dust! I kind of wish I hadn't gotten the magical star cocktail though because I had to get another one later in the trip so I could bring home 2 ice cubes when I really wanted a different drink instead. The boys did love them though!

I can see that in my "might not return to WDW October" non-plans, that I need to spend less time in the parks and more time visiting resorts!

Loving the food porn.

If you only have 3 days, don't waste them on resorts, but do save it for another trip! That was one thing I was excited about with the deluxe dining was the number of resorts I got to visit for the dinners.

Great updates for Day 2! Your new room's view is so much better, but what a shame there were some housekeeping issues.

Dinner at Artist Point looks phenomenal as do the drinks! One of these days we will make it over to WL to check it out. It is very pretty!

I was SO happy with the location and view of that new room!!

You've never made it to WL? I LOVED it, as I suspected I would!

All of your food looks so yummy!

That blue cheese fritter looks and sounds amazing. Yum!!

Oh yes, it was delish! I cracked that baby open and smeared a bit of gooey blue cheese on each bite of the steak...Mmmmm!

I know how much you were looking forward to Artist Point and WL... so glad you enjoyed it! Hang in there on the wish... sometimes they take a while to come true. But that wishing spot has a pretty good track record! ;)

I'm still hopeful on my wish :wizard: We loved both WL and AP!

:lmao:

I love the WL-I think it's absolutely beautiful! :goodvibes We've tried WCC a few times for lunch or dinner, but we've never tried Artist Point. Everything y'all had looked delicious! :thumbsup2

I'm anxious to return to try WCC. who can resist a giant platter of BBQ goodness?!?

Oh my, that meal looks and sounds amazing! I'm drooling over that mushroom soup...

it was SO good. The roasted mushrooms on top were almost bacon-like, crispy and smokey. YUM!

Ohhhh you had me at bleu cheese fritter! :rotfl2: I LOVE bleu cheese!!
Dinner looked scrumptious and super score on the drinks!! That is awesome...I would have felt so obligated to drink all of them :rotfl2:

Tracy

I'm a huge fan to blue cheese too and I think that was the real draw of how that was prepared!

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable would say there is a difference but craftsman, mission and arts-and-crafts all have the same style to me! We have several mission furniture pieces as well.

I have never been to WL but hope to go take a look this time. Great score with free drinks. Food looks good. Funny how you both liked each others dessert better.

I was so happy when she said she liked the cobbler better because I was totally jealous of her dessert! :lmao:

Love your WL pictures, is is so beautiful. Your dinner looks delicious! May have to try AP sometime.

Signature restaurants are expensive but there is a reason!

I love the rustic Wilderness Lodge decor, too.

Hope that magical fountain wish comes true! :)

I may have to have you throw another quarter for me if it hasn't come true in the next couple weeks, you seem to have the magic touch!

I think I heard they no longer include the tip on the dining plan (Kathy, correct me if I'm wrong) so to-go is good advice whether on the plan or not! There are plenty of nice places to eat outside if it's not blazing hot.

Another lovely update!!! Your meal at Artist Pointe looks absolutely fantastic!!! SO YUMMY!!!! I so want to try that soup sometime and that steak....hmmmmmmm

Well I hope your wish comes true!!!!! :wizard::wizard:

Definitely put it on your list Jen! Are you going deluxe in October?

Luv n the report, great job. I know what you mean about the kids. Myself and wife visit all the parks without the grandkids and that those make a difference. Don't get me wrong, grandkids are always welcome, but it is very nice when the only hand your reaching for is your wife.

First :welcome: and thanks for the compliment

second, what a sweet sentiment. Someday I hope hubby will join me for an adults only trip but he is less enchanted with the mouse than I am.

Thanks for the pics of Artist Point...it is the one of only two or three signature restaurants that I've given a passing thought to trying. It does seem like a strange choice for Florida but I love how Disney gets away with exotic resorts like that and they have something different for every taste.

When I was on DDP in Oct., I did not have to pay tip, it was just 1 CS credit.
For a counter service with a refillable mug, I would have them fill the mug for the meal and then get a water to drink another time.:thumbsup2 At breakfast I got 2 waters!

Hey Katie!!!

I am here! I can't believe I just now found it!! ugh!! But, I am off to read! :goodvibes
