Where can you go to park for free to ride the skyliner?

If we were interested in parking somewhere and riding the skyliner and then exploring/eating at some of the resorts on the line, where is the best place to park?

Day Guests - Complimentary standard self-parking is available while enjoying select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at Disney Resort hotels.

Skyliner resorts aren't big on being exploring or eating options, but Boardwalk area is right next door.

What does restricted parking mean? Could you park there and get a dole whip and take the skyliner to other resorts?

If Pop offers Dole Whips, okay. But Disney recommends parking at DHS when the primary intent is to ride the Skyliner.

I'm not sure. I wish I had taken a photo of the sign. All you can do is ask. The problem is that once someone parks, there's no way for them to know if that person takes the Skyliner to DHS or Epcot for the day, avoiding paying a parking fee at the parks.

im gonna take an uber and ride skyliner from riviera to epcot, we also may do character breakfast but thats the advice i got.

Yes, but that's probably the only surefire way to ensure that you can park for free.
Disney officially recommends you park at DHS if you're looking just to ride the Skyliner, which, of course, costs money. It's a matter of how much space there is to park at the Skyliner resorts.

Any resort linked to it. You can park at say Pop. Then use the skyliner. Anyone can visit any resort. So park at a skyliner resort. And hop on. Or Disney Springs and use the bus to a resort. Folks visit resorts everyday to explore. Parking is free at resorts. Just not overnight.
Lots of you tube videos of folks riding the skyliner and nothing else. Just something to do.

From the DFB - seems to imply you have to have a reservation at POP, not just going to the food court.

Just my opinion...Parking is limited as it is at the resorts on the Skyliner. Guests who are staying there are PAYING to park there, so it just does not seem quite right that someone else could park there for free, especially if it causes crowding for resort guests.

The sign posted above was also at AOA last weekend and I was behind a guest who was denied entry and turned around on Monday.

Either combine a skyliner ride with an already scheduled park day, park at Disney Springs and take the bus to a skyliner resort or pay to park at DHS.

I don't know the official policy, but when we stayed at AOA, the guards to the parking lot were diligent about checking our MBs when we pulled up. I'm not sure what they would have said if we told them we were off-site guests wanting to visit the resort. I assume they would permit it and instruct that parking is limited to X hours, just as it is when people are dining at TS restaurants at some of the deluxe resorts.

I have also always heard that those who want to ride the Skyliner should park at DHS.

If you are a resort guest then park at Hollywood Studios and hop on there. We did that, easy peasy.
