Where can we find a beverage store?

I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this but - it is a budget question when you consider the cost of a drink at the resort.

We are staying at the Poly, flying in and using Tiffany Towncar and taking advantage of their Publix grocery stop. Does anyone know where we might find an ABC store to get a small bottle of vodka to mix a night cap?

I so wish I could remember the name of the grocery store we stopped at on our way in. It wasn't Publix as it was closed...it was the late night grocery store. Anyway, they had alcohol at the store. My husband and I did the same thing to have a little something in the room after a busy day at the parks!

I have seen several of the Walgreen stores which have a liquor store attached. I have also seen an Albertson's with one. The Publix I use (near Universal) does not have one.

If you after just after a small bottle buy one at home and pack it in the middle of your clothes.

Supermarkets in Florida sell alcohol - maybe someday NJ will join them ;) .

So you can stock up at Goodings, Winn-Dixie, etc. No problem at all finding something in the area.

Actually, supermarkets themselves do not sell hard liquor, just beer and wine. However some supermarkets, such as Albertson's and Winn-Dixie, have full liquor stores attached to them. Publix does not.

Hope this helps! :) Meg

That's what I'm doing. I've looked and found plastic "travel" bottles of vodka. I'm not sure what brand they were though.

I've even thought of buying those little tiny bottles (the size they use on airlines) to put in my bag on the plane to mix my own drinks (I hope I don't get in trouble for that). :goodvibes :drinking1

Great info - thanks.
Since we won't have a car to get to any of the places mentioned do you think Tiffany will stop. It sounds like I may need to get the travel bottle for the plane. I'm just afraid it will break!! I wonder if I could carry a small bottle in my carryon.

1. Please note that Walgreens has changed their policy, and no longer sell alcohol. (my brother works for the Walgreens chain in Texas, I forget the reasons, but it has to do with the ownership, in IL they've slowly changed the stores to "Free standing" stores, as opposed to those in "strip" malls)

2. I was celebrating our anniversary, I have a bag from Land's End that fits under the seat, so I put snacks, and (*ahem) a bottle of Champagne, and Gran Marnier... I read on the airline's website we can carry the bottles on, not pack/check)

3. Communicate with your driver. We made the stop at Albertson's, and they did have beer and wine, I think I picked up a 6 pack for dh,, .. dont remember...

4. We stayed at the Poly, and wanted to do a late night MK, so we decided to eat in the room, dd 8 had a 'break'/rest... I decided to do a "carry out" from Kona, and the store in the Poly across from Kona sells wine (it went with the meal!) they had a few bottles, around $10 and up, when I made my purchase, they have a corkscrew at the counter you can use (for free!) It made a wonderful memory!
