Hi! My husband and I are taking a trip to WDW in Dec. We will be in Orlando for two weeks. For one of those weeks, we will have my little cousin (age 8) with us. We are very excited about taking him to WDW for the first time!!!

We want him to be able to do some pin trading with the CMs, because I know he will love it! However, we are on a really tight budget. A lady I work with gave me a box of about 25 Disney pins she had gotten over her last few trips, so he will be able to use those as traders. They are just some regular ones she picked up with trades with CMs, but she has lost interest in the pin thing now - so she gave them to me free! However, because she kept them displayed on a bulletin board, they don't have backs. She threw the backs away. :( So, I need to get some pin backs to go with the pins. I would like to get the rubber kind because I have heard they stay on better.

Any ideas on where to get some fast and cheap? We only need about 25, so I don't want to order from someplace where I have to buy 100 or something!

Wish I could help... There is a site that you can get 100 for $5 but David who is in Aruba...is the one with the link.. I wrote it down somewhere but dang it I can't find it. When do you leave? David might get back and you will still have time to order them?

We buy our rubber backs from www.cheappins.com they sell them in packs of 50 for a couple of dollars. This is also a good site to get disney pins that make great traders with castmembers especially for kids. They will be offering some nice disney paris pins soon also.

Thanks so much everybody! I think I found a place that will work for us.

About that cheappins site. . .

I was thinking about ordering some more pins for Ross to use as traders from them because of the great prices. But then I got nervous. Will the WDW CMs really accept any of their pins in a trade? I would have for him to be dissapointed. I'm sure he wouldn't understand why the CM couldn't trade with him. Has anybody had problems trading with pins ordered from that site??

Thanks again for the help with the pin backs!!

gem - i don't know anything about the site but the disneyland paris pins are identical to one's we saw in disneyland paris last week.
What I did with my daughter was buy a couple of packs of small pins - you got 3 tiny mickeys for £5, not sure what that is in $$ but not a lot, we then traded those with the CM's for what we really wanted. when we were in orlando we bought pins in the Character Warehouse at the Premium Outlet Mall -they were pretty cheap there and it's all proper disney stuff in the store - so that might be an option for traders too.

If you've got 25 that's quite a few to start with though, we only had 6 and still had a good time.

GEM,

The pins from cheappins are authentic Disney copyright pins. I have ordered from them several times. (They have terrific customer service, too!) As a matter of fact, when DLR tightened their rules about what they would accept in trade, the cheappins people took great care to clearly present this information on their site and show which pins would not be acceptable.

All the pins they carry are acceptable for CM trade at WDW.

I have had really good buys from cheappins. I don't just buy trader pins here, we get keepers also. We have never had any problem trading their pins with castmembers or guests for that matter, we even have bought pins available at WDW on this site, the mickey usa ears pin and the square mickey america pin were available yesterday when I checked this site. Their shipping is reasonable also.
