Disney resorts are rarely discounted through "consolidator" type web sites. Typical discounts are rendered to AP holders, AAA members, and through various "Codes."
Virgin offers some packages that many find a good deal.
You could also look into the DTD hotels, but they aren't "Disney" hotels.
One of the best sources for Disney resort discount information is Mousesavers. I never go to Lake Buean Vista without checking this website first as it usually has information on most of the current deals that Disney and the Downtown Disney resorts are running.
I dont think your problem is money; its knowledge. Ive stayed at POP Century and All Stars MANY times for between $45 - $49 a night. Thats the (former) AP rate during value season. We ONLY do value season. I dare ANY off Disney property to try to beat that by more than $5.00.
Also you have to consider the whole picture... Transportation... We drive down, park the car, and dont touch it again till we leave. Use Disney Transportation... its free with Disney Resort stays. OTHERWISE You have to add in your daily gas and parking fees if your staying off property. You cant FAIRLY compare off site rates with Disney rates if you dont consider parking and driving expenses.
You cant put a pricetag on the ambiance and Giant Icons at the Disney Value Resorts.
Orlando traffic causes roadrage. Do you REALLY want to drive in THAT traffic???
Convenience... theres no comparison to Disney Resorts. Just walk from your room to the Disney Bus, then your at the park in a few minutes
oh, and getting back to topic; I agree with the former post... Mousesavers.com is the best website for rates and codes.
