I wish I could say that this info is for me, I would love to get married at WDW, but DH and I have been married for 10 years now.

The info is for my father and his fiancee. They really aren't sure when they want to get married, they haven't even set a date. They have been thinking about where they would like to get married and her daughter suggested Hawaii {My dad said there is no way that is going to happen}.

When I saw this forum, I thought what a wonderful idea getting married at Disney. That way when it's all done and over with, everyone can go and do what they want. If my dad and her want to stay at the resort, my family can go to the parks, and her kids could do what they wanted.

I doubt they would want the photos, more then likley I would be taking those. LOL!!! My dad isn't a very big Disney fan, but she is. And I know if I can put the idea in her head and if it's a good price, we'll be going to WDW for a wedding. LOL!!

TIA!!!! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Hi there!

There is a ton of information available! First, I would like to say that if you are interested in getting married at WDW, eventhough you already are, Disney has Vow Renewal packages available!

The best place to go for info is right to the source.
Disney Weddings

An unofficial site that has good info is:
Your Fairy Tale

I wish you the best of luck! :earsgirl:

Thank you for the links to the websites!!!

I can not believe though how much it cost to even have a wedding at WDW. :earseek: There would have been no way when DH and I got married that we could have done it there. Our wedding for EVERYTHING cost a little over $5,000. If I tried harder, I could have had it under that. But I know getting the bigger wedding picture package is what did it. I wanted to splurge on the pictures. I know actully what they go through on the TLC show "For Better Or For Worse".

From what I read it seems like if your not willing to spend a certain amount, then you are a waste of their time. My dad is in his late 50's and she is in her late 40's. This will be his second marriage {my mom passed away} and this will be her third. They don't want to spend alot of money on this and thought maybe Disney had something where it was just go and say "I Do" for older people like that and then go and enjoy the parks or whatever. They don't care about the reception and things like that. Guess a Disney wedding is out.

On the other hand, I have been reading about vow renewal for DH and I. We already had our 10th wedding anniversary, so maybe, a big maybe, we might do something for our 15th or 20th.

Hi thelittlemermaid

If your father wanted something that only included himself & his wife-to-be, or were willing to only invite 8 people (including the wedding party), it could be done at Disney for a relatively low price. With an intimate package, they have beautiful locations to choose from for the ceremony and cake reception. Plus, you get the officiant, a 4 hour limo ride, the wedding cake & cake topper, champagne, a violinist, bride's bouquet and the groom's boutonnière, and a wedding coordinator. Everything you need for a small wedding is included. All they'd have to do is show up! (Although, they would have to make the all important decisions of the cake flavor and floral colors before hand! :p)
You mentioned they wouldn't need the photographer, so they could substitute it for a honeymoon photo package and have professional photos taken in one of the parks. I don't think the photo package they include is actually worth a whole lot of money anyhow, so even IF they were to discount your wedding package cost because you didn't want to use their services, it wouldn't really save that much money. But, as far as I know, Disney will not let us do that.

This also comes with a 5 day, 4 night honeymoon and an Ultimate park hopper pass for their stay. To me, this is worth $3600 (if they stay at a moderate resort, for a deluxe it's $4300.) If your dad wanted to book his own accommodations for 4 nights at a Disney hotel, the package is then $2350.
I'm sure you've guessed by now that I'm having an intimate wedding, and I promise I'm not a sales person for Disney! lol :D
This is my first wedding and while I would love to have a big blow-out, we simply just cannot afford it. So this is perfect for us. But I know it's not necessarily right for everyone. I just like the idea that I'm getting everything I need for a small basic wedding and I still get to have a say in the cake and the flowers. Let alone the most important thing, I'm getting married at DISNEY ::yes::

Sorry this is sooo long... I'm sure that whatever your father and his fiance decide will be great!

If I didn't scare you off and you have any other questions, please feel free to send me a PM! :earsgirl:
