My boys love the popcorn here. Ariel (before she got popular in Jan. of '06) even fed my youngest son his popcorn. That's one of my favorite pics. He was so happy.

we enjoyed the bucket of popcorn while waiting for Fantasmic to start.![]()
My favorite place to eat in DL is the Blue Bayou... mainly because of it's nostalgic connection to VMK!

I've liked Bengal BBQ in the past but didn't care for it this time. Tigger tails were dry/burnt/over airy tasting (need softness/thickness, bulk, and butter.)
Next visit ... if I can ever do a multi-day (I usually only get to day trip) I would definitely try a breakfast somewhere.
The turkey leg is VERY filling/satisfying.
Just discovered dole whips... LOVE THEM!![]()
Didn't care for the EXTRA HUGE chocolate rice crispy treats in Pooh's Corner. Didn't care for the cinnamon roll from Main Street Bakery. It had a maple syrup strand-y type of stuff on the pecan one and the frosted one was too rich.
The ice cream parlor on main street served a LARGE portion for the price.. and it was really cute inside.
I want to try a chimichanga cart!
Frozen lemonade's (my fav is strawberry) at DCA were VERY, VERY refreshing on a hot day. Also, the margarita with an extra shot was nice!
That's all I can think of right now!
Ahh, thank you, I like to see it alive and kickingand thank you for your reply.
No, your signature is not too big in my opinion. Matter of fact, I quite like it!
This is especially funny, I love it!![]()
he he! I wonder when he might say that again?
I will check out your trip report, I sometimes like to read such. Yours sounds to be very interesting, humorous, and maybe even a bit hectic too, like any trip planning, and doing can become at times.
So should I try the Mickey shaped rice krispie treat? or again, wait until someone buys me one!seriously.........

Where are the chimichanga carts --- and why I have never seen them -----?

There's a cart in the inner circle of the hub on the Frontierland side.

There are several Chimichanga carts around. I know because my dh & ds stop at them all the time for both chimi's & turkey legs! The carts sell both. There's the one on the Frontierland side of the hub, the one in Frontierland between Thunder Mntn & the Golden Horseshoe, and there's one in Fantasyland by the Matterhorn-the path past the Teacups, under monorail track, next to Matterhorn-it's on the left, along with other carts selling name art, etc...
Considering that the food around the resort changes fairly often, I'd say my "current favorite" place to eat is the Carnation Cafe. The food is good and surprisingly affordable (especially with AP), and their ice cream desserts are much better than in the ice cream parlor. In fact, when we were just there, we walked up at 5min to 8pm (they close at 8pm), and were told that they had stopped seating. I said "oh, I just wanted a banana split!" and the cm nicely told me that I could get an ice cream down the street, which I replied, but they're not the same! He then turned to another cm, to ask her about serving us, and then let us in! It was so nice-and so good! But, for future reference, they stop seating at 7:50pm.![]()
That is interesting to note, Jencav. I also love Carnation Cafe - we have done B, L and D there, as well as a separate dessert meal as it seems your group did!!!! We ordered a few different desserts off the menu with coffee, and three of us shared all of the desserts. The one thing we did NOT get was the banana split that you mention, and please refresh my memory - is that the thing that comes in the GIGANTIC bowl, big enough for four people? We ordered the much smaller Matterhorn sundae, a piece of pie and something else I forget. But I WANT to get that banana split if it is the one I am thinking of. Everyone in the restaurant stops and stares as the bowl is brought to the table. Everyone wants to see who is brave enough to take that on! It is enormous!
Also, about the seating times, when we did the dessert meal last December, we got in line about 7:15 or so, at least. We waited forever in that line. It took so long to sit down. It was a good thirty minutes or MORE. And we were grumbly about it. Finally, when we got to our table and leisurely ate our sweets, by the time we got up to leave, the 'snow was falling on Main Street' and we were happy that the timing worked out that way. Had we not been stuck in the darn line for so long, we would have missed the snow! But next time, Priority Seating!!!
The banana split is not the one in the big bowl! The banana split comes on a flat dish/bowl and it is long-it is big, though! It's 3 scoops of ice cream, while, I believe the one in the large bowl comes with 4 scoops. I've never had that one, as it's too huge!
We've also eaten there at all meal times! We've never done priority seating, though. Most of the time, we just seem to get lucky. We'll walk up and there'll be no line, then once we sit down, we look, and there's a line. We've waited in a short line a couple of times, but it didn't take long. We usually go without the kids, though, so it's only 2 of us. The kids meals at Carnation are not the same value or as good as the regular food IMHO. (except breakfast when you can get Mickey waffles!) We've been known to bring in a bag of fries for the kids, if we do bring them, and then they just get drinks. We've dined several times when the parade happened to be going by in the afternon, and that is nice. It's not a front row view & you can't see everything, but it's nice to be sitting, not in a crowd, and enjoy the parade.![]()
I have been jonesing to go back to DL and eat at Cafe Orleans. My favorite meal there is:
a dinner salad with those yummy candied pecans
The Vegetable Ragout, love the polenta cakes on top.
DH usually has either the gumbo or the french onion soup first
then the Seafood crepes and we get a couple of bottles of water.
For dessert we will have either the Begnets or the Souffle and a couple of coffees.
We are usually stuffed by the time dessert comes but ya gotta go for it , you know?
Plus Cafe Orleans has such a nice atmosphere, with the river boat going by its so nice.
DH's family is from New Orleans (his dad played for the Saints in the 70's) , and has been there since before the Louisiana purchase. So he has a special love for New Orleans Square.
After our meal we usually waddle over to the HM for another ride and try to digest for a while.
I just want to say that I am so grateful for a place like DL that we can all go to to just have fun. No other agenda but to have fun. We are all pretty lucky!![]()
Haven't been to DL in almost 13 years!![]()
So I can hardly say what my favorite food is, but I can tell you what we're looking forward to eating on our upcoming trip!![]()
