Where are you staying on your next Disneyland Trip and Why?

I have gone to DLR more times than I can count in the past 35 years. Every time we go, I say we will stay onsite but then I talk myself out of because of the cost. But gosh, I am nearly 70 years old and a breast cancer survivor. The next time I go, come hell or high water, I am staying onsite. Not sure which hotel yet.

Our next trip will be in November, and we're staying at HoJo. Why? We've stayed there the last 2 Novembers and it's a pretty cool place. Very clean rooms with updated furniture and even a Disney touch in the rooms we've been in. Really good prices compared to the rest of the area - especially for a hotel feel. And the staff is always awesome.

I'm really liking this thread. We want to return late Feb or early March and we're just looking around at other experiences. So far, I'm not seeing anything I like better than HoJo. But I'd like to hear from someone talking about Desert Palms - big suites with breakfast sounds pretty good....for a price, of course.

I just need to figure out how to grab a Disney hotel on the cheap. That would be my end game in this thread.

We're staying at the Camelot this coming August. We've never stayed there before, but we got a good deal and it's close! We spend every minute of the opening hours inside the parks, so why spend a lot of money on something that is literally for sleeping? We also don't care about not having a free breakfast because I have severe dietary restrictions and couldn't eat it anyway. I'll just bring food for me and let my son eat at McDonalds.

Two weeks from now we are staying at the Hotel Indigo. It's a nice place with free parking and fairly close walk. We like it a lot.

Awesome you survived your battle with cancer! We are going through it right now with my wife (we had to cancel our June trip because of it) and are hoping that when her treatments are done we can treat ourselves to a trip in October or early January.

As to the original question, when we eventually make our trip we will stay in either the Tropicana Inn, BWPPI, Desert Inn or Park Vue. We want something across the street to minimize our walking and didn't like waiting for the ART when we tried it last time. We have stayed at the Tropicana before and liked it but I have been wanting to give the Park Vue a shot as well.

We are staying at the Sheraton Park at the Anaheim Resort. I signed up for the American Express SPG card and got the sign-up bonus. So basically we are staying for *almost* free. It is a little farther away than we had originally planned but we can't beat the price. We just have to walk a little farther.

Well..... now I'm not sure. I have reservations for the Del Sol in September based on proximity and price..... but then I read some TripAdvisor review that were kind of scary, so I am second guessing my decision. But many of you here seem to like the Del Sol (especially for the price).... so now I'm not sure. I'll still be looking around for a similar price for a place that might be more reliable..... but I may end up just leaving things as is unless one of you convinces me otherwise!.............P

It's been fun reading this thread. For our next trip in early Oct we plan on staying at DLH with the Gay Days rate, which can't be beat! This will be my 3rd time staying there because I love it so much! I would like to give GCH a try some time but I think the kids will like the pool at DLH better. I have also stayed at Tropicana, which is perfectly fine and right across the street, and at Hojo which my DS (age 7 at the time) absolutely loved!

May 2012 - Disneyland Hotel with husband and another couple. They paid for the hotel (we paid for park tickets for the 4 of us) so how could we say no!

July 2013 - Hotel Ménage with Mom, Aunt, and three friends. This was a great option for an adult only trip as it had a 24-hour tiki bar and outdoor pool area. Also was the last stop on the way to the parks on ART so only a 5 minute ride each morning!

December 2014 - Stanford Inn and Suites w/ 3 friends. Easy ART access, free continental breakfast, and a nice, decent sized room for a great price ($70/night). Too far away to be walkable was about the only con.

October 2015 - Disneyland Hotel with BFF. Got a great deal for Gay Days weekend and couldn't pass it up!

October 2016 - Back to the Disneyland Hotel for another Gay Days weekend with the BFF and another friend visiting from out of the country!

We will be staying at the Grand California Hotel for the first time this fall. We have stayed off site three times and not been happy. We have stayed at the Disney Hotel five or six times and Loved it! The wife contacted Disney Travel to book our annual winter trip to the Disney Hotel last month and they offered an upgrade to the Grand for very little . Six days at the Grand, Yea Hah. White Water Snacks, Story Tellers Café, Napa Rose, we go to these every visit, just this time we will be a lot closer. The only drawback I can see to this is we will have to walk a ways for breakfast at Goofies a couple mornings. The wife is already planning .

Ramada Maingate used to be our go to property (now Grand Legacy at the Park), but we tried Hojo last year and loved it. I was surprised my picky DH liked it so much. We used our Wydham points and got a room in building one facing the Matterhorn and watched the fireworks from our balcony. It was pretty awesome! DH and I both love the beds and pillows and we like that it is a hotel, not a motel. The motels can be so much louder with people parking in front of the rooms. Plus our boys LOVED the waterpark and the customer service can't be beat. The walk was totally doable for our 6 and 8 year olds. I also love that you aren't nickeled and dimed with added fees. And the rooms are clean and super spacious! We plan to stay at Hojo in November =)

We are planning on driving a Class C Motorhome down for our next trip. After reading/listening to the few reviews/posts I could find we chose the Anaheim RV Park over the other nearby parks. There isn't near as much information as I thought there would be about doing this.

With so much knowledge and experience in this thread, can any of you advise whether or not any of your favorite places allow/accommodate Motorhome parking? I have tried searching for this information and can't find a good way to figure it out with so many hotels nearby?

Are we stuck with the RV parks themselves or staying way further out away from the resort district or do we have other options I could be exploring?

Staying at the Desert Inn & Suites in October. We are usually Tropicana guests but DIS was having an awesome sale of $99/night and I couldn't find better for that type and location. Hoping it is comfortable and quiet.

My dream is to one day stay at the Disneyland Hotel. It's been my dream for almost 30 years...

We stayed at the Del Sol in May of 2014 and didn't find it scary. If they had one of the bigger rooms available this time, we likely would have chosen to stay there again. Now, we don't spend a lot of time in our motel rooms, so we aren't willing/able to pay more for luxury. I would never say it was a nice motel, but it was decent.

We had one of the bunk bed rooms and had enough space for our 12, 10, and infant sons, plus hubby and I. It was clean enough, the breakfast was a typical continental.. not great, but enough to get us through until lunch. They let us take breakfast back to the room to eat while we got ready, which was appreciated. No issues with the hotel staff. Parking was super cramped, which was our biggest complaint. The walk to and especially from DLR was definitely the highlight. Pool was small, but the kids still had fun.

If you are someone that is looking for fancier motels/hotels, this is probably not the place to stay. But, if you are looking for a decent place to sleep that is close to DLR, I think you will likely be fine with the Del Sol. I can't really say anything great about it (aside from the location), but I also don't have much to say that is bad (aside from the cramped parking).

We always stay at the Anaheim Marriott Suites, because we get doors separating us and the kids, which means we can stay awake while they nap, and because we always get a great value for our dollar there. I can usually find a great deal, and we never spend over $100 per night, which is a steal for a suite. I hate paying for parking when we also pay to park at the parks, but it's an okay trade off for the space we get.

We also love the Embassy Suites South, but their costs have gone up a lot for us, and while that breakfast is phenomenal, it's not worth an extra $50-60/night to us.

We'd love to stay at DLH or GC one of these days, but we can just never justify the cost.

Our next trip will likely be June 2017. The plan is to stay at the Dolphin's Cove. Why? Because my mom wants to use her timeshare and we stayed at the big World Mark the last time she went with us, so she wants to try this one. It's nice for us because we won't have to pay for lodging. It's further away from the parks than we would normally stay, but I've heard we should be able to walk to Toy Story Lot and hop a bus. If we were paying for a room we would probably stay at the Desert Inn and Suites because it's close, we've had good experiences, and the price is decent.

We stayed here in a 3 BR with a big extended family trip a few years ago, and we LOVED it. The grounds were beautiful, felt like a totally different area than Anaheim, plenty of space to spread out, and the walk to the TS lot was totally doable.

Of course! I am so glad I could help! I think you will probably be fine with a rental car. Our problem was that we got a decent space for our large SUV, but then we had to leave a couple of times to drive somewhere and we would lose our spot. Then we got stuck in a spot that was right up against a post of some sort, so with our large vehicle, it was difficult to open the door enough to get our youngest out of his car seat. The spaces are more like compact size, so large vehicles are a bit smooshed.
