The reality is that most of those people are putting the extra costs on their credit card. In the future, they might file bankruptcy. But this still has the impact of keeping prices elevated.

With higher inflation, I expect Disney to hit a speed bump with pricing soon.

I hope so! We are patiently waiting for costs for level out. Maybe free dining again? That makes a huge difference for our family of five.

Personally I gave up on Disney around 10+ years ago and started going to Universal primarily with side trips to Disney every couple of years - even staying at a Universal Hotel when going to Disney - unfortunately seems like everyone is going to Universal now and its slammed

The stuff I see now boggles the mind

We are big Harry Potter Fans so we went to Universal twice this past year instead of Disney. Their AP was actually a good deal when we bought last October, but has since increased like everything else. We did love Universal (especially the HP and Jurassic Areas), but want to get back to Disney after Tron opens. I'm not sure if the cost will be worth is though.

Yeah Tron is pretty much the only reason I will do a day or two at Disney

WDW is just as magical as ever for me. Been going for over 30 years, 5 trips in the last 2 years have been nothing but amazing and magical.

Go to WDW and then go to Disneyland. The difference is outstanding.

Did that this year, and have been to both many times (DLR not quite as much). And WDW is still far, far, faaaar and away above IMO. Not even close.

Really? Pirates, Dinosaur, Test Track, Buzz, .... need I go on? I am just shocked that Disney doesn't put the best rides in their flagship park.

We have 3 little kids (all under 7), and we enjoy our time at WDW. Our success lies in not worrying about the increased costs of things (but we can't control it, we only budget for it). and instead look at ways to maximize your "time". So, we never rush around trying to pack our days with rides...we lazily go from pool to lunch to ride to walking, etc.

Also, wee enjoy the genie+ LL+ park ressie changes...and here is why. While yes, they add cost and restrictions....they have reduced crowds at the parks, so walking around is more enjoyable. and once you spend the money on those perks...they save you time. One of our best days at VGF was entering the park to ride Seven Dwarves using LL+, and then starting to book afternoon Genie passes (anything after 4pm). We then proceeded back to the VGF pool for the next 4 hours, took a nap, and then during that time, I booked 4 more fast passes....so by the time we walked back into Magic Kingdom, I had 5 Fastpasses lined up between around 4 and 7. It was bliss.

We focused on what we could control, and in turn, our entire family enjoyed our week at WDW.

What? you are crazy....you might have got lucky one day or one trip but its a proven, undeniable fact that the parks are busier and more crowded than ever (somewhat do to lower staffing)...........waits for lines have never been longer......look at theme park data and check it out. those are facts that cannot be argued

stacking isn't allowed any more either (you have to wait until 2pm availability now)

The consumer is still strong today despite putting a lot of the costs on their credit cards. I don't see discounting until the consumer is hurting. We're at least a year off from that happening.
