We will be there with DS10 and DD7. We want to eat on the early side (6pm or so) in Epcot and stay as long as we can deal (no later than 10). Where would you suggest eating? I had thought of Rose and Crown, but how loud does it get in there? Has anyone ever been for NY's Eve?

Was also thinking of Chefs--they don't do a special menu that night, do they? We're probably not looking at Biergarten because I'm really not so sure we'd like the food. Any thoughts?

We were in Epcot for NYE 2 years ago. We had reservations around 5:30 for Coral Reef, but we didn't make it. The place was just so crouded, you couldn't get on any rides, let alone walk around the place. You could go to Epcot just before your reservations that night, but on NYE, theres always a chance it could be closed at that point.
If you want to be in that area, maybe you could make reservations at a Boardwalk area restaurant. Just a thought!

NYE '08-'09 my girlfriend and I ate at Biergarten. I would shoot for a 5 or 5:30 ADR if you don't plan on being there at midnight. They run the NYE IllumiNations sometime between 7 and 7:30. The 5:30 ADR would give you enough time to enjoy the meal and then find a spot of the pre-NYE NYE IllumiNations (with not nearly as big of a crowd). We chose Biergarten for the Oktoberfest atmosphere that just added to the festive night as a whole. I can also see R&C being a good NYE dinner option. :thumbsup2

We're arriving new years eve. Hopefully get a reservation at Chef Mickeys, or if not, then The Wave is our second choice. We're staying at Bay Lake Tower, lake view, so depending on our actual view we'll be seeing the fireworks from our room or Top of the World lounge.

In 2003 we and another couple had reservations at 9:50pm at R&C and were able to be seated not only on the terrace, but in a location with a clear view. Service seemed slow, and just after dessert came is when IllumiNations started.
