We are staying in one of the Pirate Rooms at CBR and I know I want to get a room closer to Old Port Royale. Are there certain building or villages where the Pirate Rooms are?? I just want to be able to get the closest that I can...

Thanks!!

Sorry to say, but the Pirate Themed Rooms are just about the farthest from OPR and the Main Pool. They are in Trinidad South only. Check out the map.

As a side not, it is only an 8-9 minute walk at a leisurely pace from the farthest point of Trinidad South to OPR. I know, I timed it myself. I would request building 34 or 35. That should make the walk a little better. I think your boys will love the Pirate Rooms and the Main Pool. Our DS10 sure loves the pool!

well, hmmm....

Thanks so much for the info! With all the walking we will be doing, it is probably not a big deal.

Here's another question:

How close are the beaches and pools to each other? Can you hang out at the beach and easily jump in the pool to cool off??

Thanks!!!!

Totally agree. We stayed in a pirate room last July and my son just LOVED it. The walk was nice....we saw lots of critters (which my son also loved). Every village/island has its own bus stop and there is an internal shuttle system as well. We ate at OPR and visited the main pool several times. There was also a quiet pool very close by.

You're welcome. IMHO, it's not a big deal. On our resort days, we like to walk all the way around the lake a couple times.

If you look at the map, there is a beach and pool for every village. The sun symbol is where the beach is and the oddly shaped blue thing is the pool. We were in Jamaica and the quiet pool was right next to the beach. There is a beach right next to the Main pool too.

Oh, and they have a bonfire on the beach near the Main Pool every night and roast marshmallows! They even have all the supplies.

Maybe someone can give you a link to the map or you can look at CBR thread. There are beaches pretty close to every island/village so there are beach areas pretty close to all the pools but if I am remembering correctly the pools have gates so they are not right on the beach (maybe 1-2 minute walk)

Thanks all!

I know how it looks on the map, but I wasn't sure how easy it was to actually get from the beach to the pool or if they even allowed it!!

Thanks again!

Yes they do and it's very easy! Hope you have a magical stay.

the walk isn't bad but when are you going? Was wanting to check out where the pirate rooms were and I went over to CBR last November and walked to OPR - It was a rather warm walk and it wasn't even 82 degrees (a cold front for Florida had come through) - so if you are planning on the summer months a walk in the afternoon could be brutal.

We went in 2009 with our boys... they absolutely loved the pirate rooms! We aren't all that athletic, so we just drove to the pool, food court, etc. It was no problem. (Unless you are flying and don't have a car.)

I mentioned this somewhere else, but I did a fun thing... made pirate goodie bags for the boys. Got lots of pirate type toys from Big Lots, Dollar Tree, Party City, etc. Even found a pirate Mickey Mouse stuffed animal at Walgreen's. I put the stuff in big gift bags and hid in the car. Then, I went into the room before anyone else did and left the bags. The kids thought they were a gift from Mickey!

Enjoy your time -- magic, magic moments!!!!!!
