Where are the animals at AKL and can non resort guests watch them?

I'm staying at All Star Sports and I don't want to waste a park ticket on my arrival day. My favourite park is AK, and I adore the Safari & the trails.

I know there are animals at AKL but where are they at? Are they easy to find if you don't stay there? Will I be allowed to just find a spot and sit and watch them for a while? I find animals fascinating and calming, so my idea of a perfect evening would be spending some time at AKL (unfortunately can't afford to stay there!)

Yes, anyone can take a bus to visit. You walk to backside of lobby, down the steps outside and you will find the animals. We enjoy visiting other resorts for some down time.
Also they have other viewing spots out by the main pool.

Yes! You can see them when you go outside and walk around. They have a food court so you can grab you a snack and drink and enjoy the animals!

Just wanted to add that the Cast Members near the savannas are some of the friendliest ones I've ever encountered. I went over to the Lodge one day just to pass some time and one of the Cast Members talked to me for over a half hour about all kinds of things. And another time, a Cast Member apologized because the animals were all snoozing but talked about them anyway.

Also, take some time to go into the areas near the lobby - I stumbled onto a exhibit of photographs that were quite interesting. Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful place inside and out and make sure you check out the inside as well.

Definitely go and check out the animals at AKL if you are interested in doing so. Our first visit to AKL was to have dinner at Boma and check out the animals -- we loved AKL so much that we've been staying there ever since. There is a great lookout down the stairs at the far end of the lobby, but there are also higher ones on the lobby level to the left (and several others). The CM's out by the 1st one can tell you a lot about the animals. Also they are from different countries in Africa and will tell you about where they live if you go up and talk to them. It's beautiful out there, and you can learn some things, too.

Wow, thanks guys! Super helpful- I have two reservations for Boma and one for Sanaa so I'll be around anyway- definitely will arrive an hour or so early and observe my favourite animals! Gutted that we were ACTUALLY going to stay there but we ended up at Saratoga instead. I mean, Saratoga was gorgeous, I loved it- but I adore animals, and it would've been heaven! I believe All Star is located at the AK area though, so at least I won't be too far from my favourite place on earth! I'm rambling.

Ah well. Disneymoon ;-) a girl can dream, eh?! I hope lots of pixie dust is sprinkled on you all this year!!
