Where are some of the best places to watch Illuminations?

I was wondering what are some good spots to view ILLuminations. Easier to plan around if you know ahead of time where to look for a spot.

We have watched Illuminations from many different spots. Our favourite is across from Germany - there's a spot right by the lake that has a perfect view if you stake it out at least an hour ahead of time. We take turns holding our spot while we go get a snack, wander a nearby gift shop, etc. It's also great for after Illuminations, because you're at the back of the park, and we take our time wandering out so most of the crowds have left by the time we get to the exit and the bus.

Most spots around the lagoon offer good views, just be sure not to be down wind or the smoke can ruin the experience.

We hang out somewhere between Mexico and Norway. Someone spreads out to save a spot and the rest of us wander back and forth. We grab a combo plate from Cantina Del San Angel, check out the wait time for Maelstrom, maybe take the ride, and wander through the shops.

Like I'm going to tell you. Then everyone would know. Okay I'll tell. You know where the black railing and the concrete walk areas meet? Anywhere behind that railing.

We watched from the area by Italy as well. It was worth waiting there an hour ahead of time. As others said, we had one or two of us stay and hold our spot and the others wandered around a bit.

I love the view from the main entrance of the promenade. You can get a pretty good view from there. I will agree with previous postings; check the wind direction...the amount of smoke the show produces can ruin your view if you are in the wrong place.
