Where are indoor resting places in DL?

Are there any places in DL indoors, where I could sit and rest for an hour or so? I'm going a few days after July 17th, and I'm afraid that if I leave, the park might reach capacity, be closed, then I won't get back in. How likely is this? So where might I rest inside the park? I was thinking of maybe going to a counter serve place, ordering a soft drink, and sitting in a corner for a while. Any thoughts on this? And any suggestions of places?

The Hall of Presidents used to be a good place. :rolleyes1

::ducks::

The Hall of Presidents is in WDW :) Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln has been put away temporarily while they show 50 years of Disneyland w/Steve Martin & Donald Duck.

You might try the Golden Horseshoe, Rancho del Zocalo - both in Frontierland. You can also sit & rest at the Plaza Pavilion - it's outside, but shaded & relaxing. Also, there is the Hungry Bear Restaurant - go upstairs to the back area & sit & relax while you overlook the Rivers of America.

Innoventions is another option.

In DCA the Animation building is a great place to cool off and rest for a bit!

The Animation Building USED to be a good place until they removed the seating :(

Another good place is the River Bell Terrace they have both indoor and outdoor seating, you could buy a soda and sit it and relax.

When did they remove the seats? We were there in December and they were still there. BUMMER!!!

Maybe they put them back in. When we were there last April 2004, they were gone and the lobby was being used as a character greating area.

We were just there this last week, and no chairs in the front lobby of the animation building, although plenty of room to sit on the floor, also you could sit in on the animators workshop

Are they really anticipating capacity crowds a few days after July 17th?

Yea, we saw a ton of characters in there, but they definatley had the couches or benches or whatever! Weird! Maybe they put them in when it's not busy. We always go offseason. Who knows with Disney!!

Don't think this is exactly what you're looking for, but one year when we lived in So. Cal. and had family visiting who wanted to go to DL, we went and I got a terrible migrane headache. I was able to go to the first aid station and got aspirin and was able to lay down for about an hour there. I even fell asleep. Happily, when I woke up, my headache was gone. Yay! Anyway, that might be an option.

I do not expect the crowds to be at Capacity, except for on the 17th itself. May people will stay for a few days before &/or after the 17th, but the locals will be back at work on the 18th.

Whew! So I may get to go back to Plan A, and go over to the GF, curl up in a chair with a good book for a while. Mary Jo, I can't wait to see the Hungry Bear resturaunt-that sounds like a great one!

Pretty hard to go to the GF, unless you are in Florida ;). But yes going over to the GC to read would be a great way to spend a few hours on a hot July afternoon.

Ooops! Sorry-habit! I've been to WDW more times than I can count-gotta remember, Grand Californian!

Pinnochio Village Haus has indoor seating that is pleasant, though it could be loud if it is really crowded.

A couple of other ideas are the Aladdin show in DCA, it's about 45 minutes long in a nice, dark air conditioned building. In similar settings are the California Movie, Muppets 3D & Playhouse, though the last 2 are a little noisier. Other ideas are riding either of the boats around the Rivers of America or pulling up a piece of floor in the Main Street Theater.

I don't think this is what you had in mind, but I ALWAYS fall asleep in the Tiki Room! :smooth:

(I even fell asleep on POTC once! pirate: )
