Where are all the Louisiana WDW lovers? UPDATED 1ST POST WITH DATES!

Since we were already in Baton Rouge on Friday and our girls were competing on Sunday he just drove us to New Orleans Friday afternoon after the graduation and sent DD and I to Orlando for the weekend.

Lucky thing I never take our WDW passes out of my wallet. We stopped in Gonzales and bought some appropriate clothing, caught the 6:25 Southwest flight and off we went.

Is there anything better than waking up on a Saturday morning with all day to spend at Disney World when you didn't expect it? We had a great time squeezing in everything we could. Did a lot too. It was wonderful.

Sunday was just as good. We hit the parks for a couple of hours then went to the competition. Our Cheerleaders placed second in their Division. Not bad for your first try. Then we went back to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day and closed it out with "Wishes".

Monday we flew back home to DH, school, work, and routine. Happy, a little tired, and satisfied to wait for our May / June trip.

How awesome, what a great DH you have! Now you know I'm gonna ask this....Where did y'all eat?

What a great story!!! I'm glad you guys had a fun weekend! :cheer2:

Thanks! It was especially nice because it was so unexpected. I LOVE planning Disney trips but sometimes spur of the moment is even more fun.

Ahhh Penny, You lucky gal! What I wouldn't give for a quick Disney fix. Had to change my May/June Disney vacation to August.

I'm sorry you had to change your plans. I think we would have been there around the same time. I'm still pinching myself, nothing like spending a perfect Saturday in my favorite place. Especially with my DD. She will be a senior in high school next year and in collage long before my heart is ready.

Congratulations! I work on the State Police compound and probably saw him when they were on their afternoon runs![/QUOTE]

Welcome to the DIS! You'll find a lot of wonderful people and great advice here.

Small world, who would have thought you would see my post about my son and work on the State Police grounds. LOL, I think they did plenty of running while they were there. He was the tall, good-looking one. :cheer2:

Wasn't he a sweetie?

We had such a short time we didn't venture off property to eat except for breakfast at the McDonald's at the Crossroads. :lmao: We ate dinner at the Garden Grill Saturday night and at the Liberty Tree Tavern on Sunday night. Both were good but neither was as good as Ruth's Chris.

There will be TONS of Louisiana people there this weekend and next week! Gotta love getting away during Mardi Gras!

You guys have fun! :goodvibes

Who's ready for Mardi Gras???

I am so ready for the kids to have the week off of school but a little sad that we aren't going to Disney this year. Mardi Gras week is usually when we go but this year we are going at the end of May. My kids have always wanted to do the whole water park thing so we decided to give May a try. :confused3We are actually leaving on the last day of school and will jumpstart celebrating summer.

To all those visiting the mouse next week have a safe and fun filled trip.

We are from Lafayette too. Leaving here after school on Friday to spend the night in New Orleans and flying to Orlando early Saturday morning :cool1: :cool1:!! Everyone have a fun and safe trip!

Just updated the list to add new dates and new members to the list. While updated, I realized our thread is now over a year old and we're on page 33!

I see that a lot of us have already taken our trips to Walt Disney World. I would absolutely love to see trip reports and pictures. Come on somebody post them here so the rest of us can make it until our next trip!

We are checking the kids out of school in about an hour and hitting the road. We stop in Tallahassee tonight, arise bright and early, and drive that last leg to Disney. Everyone from here that I speak with is either going to Disney for Mardi Gras or knows multiple people who are going. We are going to show them how we do it in New Orleans! Look out Mickey, here we come!!! See you guys there. On the lookout for those alien green Mickeys.

 :cool1: :goodvibes :yay: :cheer2: :woohoo: :rotfl:

Top Ten Reasons Hurricane Season is Like Christmas

10. Decorating the house (boarding up windows).

7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".

6. Family coming to stay with you.

5. Family and friends from out-of-state calling.

4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities.

3. Days off from work.

2. Candles.

and . . . .

1. And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas . . .

At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house

Thought we could use a little funny in our lives!!!!

Love this list. But I have another one to add to it:

11. Tangled up electrical lights that do not work. (power lines)

Congratulations! I work on the State Police compound and probably saw him when they were on their afternoon runs!

HoneyLSU, I live right around the corner from where you work! In fact I use the LaCap ATM all the time there!

Welcome to our new Louisiana members!

Leaving tonight around 10 or 11 and driving straight through! At this point, I'm not crazy excited, but crazy nervous and anxious! Hope I don't forget anything or that nothing (else) goes wrong!

I'll have my alien green mickey head attached to my messenger bag at all times!

Happy Mardi Gras everyone!

I wish I was in Disney!! My aunt keeps sending me text messages from the parks. She LOVES the new American Idol Experience!

I don't know if I can wait until September!!!
