Where are all of the BWV contracts?

Dh and I have been considering buying a small BWV contract for the last 6 months. There have always been plenty of contracts on The Timeshare Store to choose from but now that we've made the decision to buy, they're all gone! There is currently 1 listing - just 1. Does the BWV market normally fluctuate like this or is this an odd thing that's happening?

There definitely looks to be less BWV contracts then usual. Try looking at some of the other brokers if TTS doesn't have enough inventory.

Hi OP,
I can't answer your question, but I definitely agree. We went to ROFR on a BWV contract on April 11th, and I was monitoring three of the major brokers regularly in case Disney took it back -- I wanted to be prepared in case we needed to start over. It was amazing how the availability dried up seemingly the moment we got going on our contract, and list prices on what little was left have gone up quite a bit. We feel so lucky to have ours in progress (and hopefully all will proceed smoothly to closing). There must be a cycle to this, though, and supply should increase eventually, no? I have to believe it's just a matter of time until more becomes available again. I'm sure a good one will come your way eventually. As resale buyers know, this process takes awhile, but the savings are worth it! ::yes::

Yes, TT is low on BWV though they just got a slew of BC listings. Try Fidelity out, they have 10 listing for BWVs though the lowest is 200 points. There are other sites with listing as well. Just google DVC timeshare resale. Good Luck!

While I don't really see how this can relate to the shortage of BWV resales available, I spoke with my guide a few days ago. When I asked about adding on a small contract at BWV, his reply was "I can get you anything you want at Boardwalk, any pts or UY" Kinda surprised me.:confused3

This is what I was thinking, that maybe DVC has been scooping up BWV contracts. Any idea what price/point DVC is offering for BWV?

I was quoted $115 a pt. Still pretty high compared to resale but I guess it depends on how long you are willing to wait for one to come to the market. We have been looking too but aren't in any rush.

:rotfl2: We aren't in that much of a rush! :rotfl2:

There were some rumors in a recent thread that suggested boardwalk would be the next to offer an extension. Not sure if this has any bearing on the sudden shortage of resale contracts, but something must be up because only a year ago boardwalk contracts outnumbered beach club by about 15 to 1. Now beach club resales seem to outnumber boardwalk by about 3 to 1. That's a pretty dramatic shift in just 12 months.

Some comments on this:

Last year Disney was ROFR'ing BCV and pretty much only BCV. Currently to my knowledge all their ROFR efforts are on non-extended OKW contracts. (which of course generates the legitimate rumor that they will start a OKW extended contract offering now that they need some points to sell in the next couple years, but that discussion is :offtopic: )

Also since there were so many BWV resales (and purchases) over the last couple years, many of the current owners may not be in the market to sell. Either long-time owners who are still happy, can still afford it/want it and/or new owners who would not want to sell yet as they just purchased.

That said I think BWV will be offered an extension, my guess, and only an uneducated one at that, is that Disney is going to do it's OKW extended contract push first OR...............they have, in their minds, figured out the best way to offer extended contracts and going to offer extensions at multiple 2042 resorts.

As long as my BWV contract makes it through ROFR I'll be happy. Still 2-3 more weeks of waiting to go.

If you want a particular resort, do sign up for the timeshare companies' mailing list. I'm currently in closing for a BWV contract that I called and made an offer on the second I got the email listing it. the company I bought from emails new listings out before posting them on their website.:yay:

My guide called me some time ago to ask me if I would be interested if they offer an extension to my Boardwalk contract.
He said nothing was official, but he still wanted to know how I feel about the extension...

Did you buy your BWV contract direct or through resale?

Did you buy your BWV contract direct or through resale?

I bought my 4 contracts resale.

The guide is the one I met when I did the tour. Even if I did not buy direct, it looks like they keep the info somewhere because he is the one who is assigned to my account.

Just when I want to add on at BWV the contracts for resale have really dried up! I'm in no hurry so I'll just keep looking.
