When's the best time?

OK so since my daughter and mother have gone to FL just about every 6 months now I figured it's time for us to all go as a family, meaning adding possibly 3 more ppl...Usually they go and stay with my sister but my sister will not have room for all of us..I think I'd like to stay on site just due to having my son who might not deal well with the heat and long days in the parks and if i want then i can go back to the room while they stay in the parks...I'd like to stay at least 7 days, maybe more...

so here's my questions: 1. When is usually the best time to go? If we could get free dining even better and I don't mind taking my daughter out of school if we have to 2. I'm assuming the value hotels are gonna be our best bet, am i right? 3. How cheap do you think I can do a trip? I don't have credit cards so it will be a cash trip, unless I can get a credit card by that time..4. in the past when has free dining been offered? ..I'm pretty sure my sister and her boyfriend can get us into disney for free or very cheaply so I don't think we need to worry about tickets unless as part of free dining we have to purchase them.any other tips and advice would be appreciated..thanks!

I have enjoyed going at the end of September beginning of October. It has a low amount of crowds, and the weather is nice not too hot nor chilly. We have scored free dining in the past at that time also.

How would your sister get you in for free? Does she work for WDW? I don't get it.

I'm pretty sure you need a credit card to book any hotel room anywhere or atleast a debit card don't you? If not wouldn't you have to pay a large depoist for incidentals? How does that work?

Free dining is typically offered part of August through part of October but this year they are really extending the offer to a lot more dates.

Value resorts will allow 4 people in a room onsite and is the cheapest place besides Fort Wilderness Campground. We have done packages at Values before for about $1400 for 10 days tix and 11 nights in the hotel. Just go to the website and enter your info for some price quotes.

Good Luck!

My sister's boyfriend and his friends work for disney....and yes i have a debit card, just not a regular credit card..i know we won't be going anytime this yr so i'll play around with the dates for next year..thanks!

I agree with Malibu, late September/early October are great times to go.

We love the first week of December. Great weather no crowds and fun Christmas decorations are up. But I also love October but I think we went cheaper in December

Ahhh okay. That's what we have a debit card only so we don't charge any vacations either. The only thing with room only is I don't believe you are eligible to get free dining since you won't be booking a package including tickets. But if you are able to get free or discounted tickets you would make a much better savings there than you would probably on free food especially since most people believe their package prices are elevated at that time to make up for the FD offer.

Great to hear! We are planning our next trip at that time!!!! I don't have any experience at that time thus far but I guess it just depends if the PP wants to experience Christmas decorations or Halloween ones!

honestly the difference between the 2 holidays makes no difference to me..i guess it would depend on the temperatures. granted in Dec i'd be getting away from snowy WI lol
