When Your Dog Comes Home from Being Boarded...

when I picked up one of our dogs from the kennel years ago, she looked at me and then at the lady that had boarded her and did this two or three times before she got in the car, as if to say she didn't know who to stay with. I felt horrible like she hated me, but was glad that she got along so well with the woman that cared for her. At least I knew she had good care.

As for the younger one's eating habits, we're not sure. He used to eat so fast and as much as he could (we limit how much is in his bowl but he'd eat Whiskey's leftovers). He barely eats one bowl a day since he's back. We're not sure if the weather's affecting him or if he's just matured enough to eat less and more slowly.

One of our dogs is just like this - always bolts her food, will eat however much she can get access to, and is always eating the other one's leftovers. We've had to start putting them in seperate rooms at mealtime, because she was starting to gain weight from it - she can intimidate the other one enough to basically drive her away and eat all her food. I don't think there's much hope for her to mature out of this behavior now, since she's 10 years old!

Our dog would ignore us when we went to pick him up at the kennel. He would not come to us when we called him for a few days. The longer we left him the longer we got the cold shoulder treatment. His attitude was "You talking to me?" "What, you want me know?" "I will let you know when I am no longer mad at you"

Oh, that is exactly what my dog does. Only this time he is much older and I was given the cold shoulder from the time he came home last Monday, until last night. I thought he wasn't gonna get over it. Then last night he comes and rubs my foot and today he is back to normal. We were gone a week, but because the vet closed early last saturday, we couldn't pick him up till Monday afternoon. He was boarded 10 days
