When you wish upon a star, a FAMILY trip comes true. May 2011 UPDATE 6/21 p.10-2posts

I have the second pair of your mom's crocs and honestly, they may feel tight but they get comfortable! I wore them to the zoo last year and I'll be wearing them for at the very least the pool but probably out if it rains as well! She won't regret getting both!

Phew, I'm so glad to hear you're still able to go to Disney! When I read the update before this one I got so nervous for you because I knew how crushed you would be if you had to cancel :thumbsup2

Girl, that part you wrote about Austin's job could have been written by me, about Chris. Seriously, almost the same situation. Luckily, they haven't given him a hard time about vacation yet. But, they flex their muscles on a daily basis of how all the employees there should be thankful that they even have a job in this economy and basically treat them like crap! It's starting to affect Chris personally, too! So sad and I totally see where you guys are coming from! It's terrible that places like that take advantage of good employees just because they can. Good luck to you both on finding employment. I totally know your feelings on trying to find a teaching job because there are ZERO in NY let alone on Long Island. They're laying off so many teachers on Long Island that there's NO WAY I'm finding a job when I finish my master's in December. Hence the reason we are moving to FL after we get married! You should move there too ;)

Great choices on the shoes! Disney shopping is soooo much fun!!!

That is such a tough situation to be in a job you hate but stuck for the most part! My DH is in a similar situation but they aren't that bad! He still comes home every night saying he is going to start searching for a new job. He gets in bad moods too due to work and thankfully (for the most part) leaves it at work.

just READING that made me crazy annoyed :furious: Ive been in a similar situation with my husband - maybe it something that happens to us all after awhile - but take it as a blessing in disguise. My experience:

DH is a Sr. Application Developer for an enviornmental firm. Layman's terms: Hes a really smart nerd that does things on a computer (as far as I can understand) So previous employment treated him really, really poorly. I had lost my job in Boston in the recession and he was stuck bearing the weight of our new house in a bad job. Finally - he snapped and had enough, and jumped at a job he was unsure of, yet closer to home. Long story short: He LOVES his new job - they pay AND treat him better than before, and he is a much (MUCH) happier person to be around.

So maybe this is the kick he needed - because that it just so unfair. They give him "vacation" time - and then tell him how hes allowed to use it? Die.

I say GOOD FOR YOU - Jump, and the net will appear ;) Stay Positive doll!

Thank you! and Welcome! :wave2: Did you get a degree in Education too? I knew going into this field that it would be hard to get a job- I didn't realize how hard because of all the current changes, but I am trying to stay optimistic. I have more to share about that today.. so look for it in my new update!

Have you stayed onsite at any of the values? If so, which ones? and what did you like best?

I majored in Psychology and minored in Speech-Pathology with an emphasis on Education. I just have to take one prerequisite for the Speech program and I'll be good to go.

For values, I've only stayed at Pop. We love it there. For our last trip we stayed at OKW. I rented DVC points from a poster on the rent/trade board in the DVC section of the DIS. They typically charge $10 a point and we only ended up spending what a 4 night stay at a value would cost. I'll definitely be doing that again!

I'm sorry Austin had to go through all of that. It sounded like he made the best decision though. My boyfriend gets put through that crap at his job almost on a daily basis. He's been going back and forth on whether or not to leave.

Ugggg! I'm sorry, first that Austin has had to deal with that kind of a work environment for so long, but also that your life plan is so up in the air right now. I know that has to be stressful. In the long run it will be better though!

I'm looking forwad to hearing about your trip to Chicago, and I totally agree, good Chicago style pizza can only be found in Chicago!!

I know- I keep telling myself we will get everything figure out and "in the long run" things will be better. It's just stressful with all the NEW changes that are taking place.

I'll probably share the Chicago trip today or tomorrow!

I have those second Crocs you bought-- the Malindi's. Those are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! They're great in the rain, breathe well, etc. LOVE THEM!
Ugh, I think it was the right decision for your husband to quit. That's just ridiculous-- no one ought to have the power to try someone else like that-- it's just not right. I hope you both find something in the area you want!!

Yes, they are very comfortable. I've only wore them once all day- to break them in and I don't think I will need to. The 1st pair- pink ones- are even more comfortable than the Malindi's in my opinion. But they are both very very comfortable. I'm mad I waited so long to purchase them!

Thank you- I hope we both find something too! :goodvibes

I'm glad you said that because my mom kept saying "these all feel tight and I don't think I like that" and she purchased the other pair because they are lose and comfortable. I'm hoping once she breaks them in, she will be a lot more comfortable and like them more. I think they are cute! I wish we wore the same size shoe! hehe;)

Well I'm sad to hear that Chris is in the same situation and I hope that they both find new employment in a better environment! Actually, our original plans were to move to FLORIDA! I have already applied for some jobs- and thats why we were saving money or going to save money over the summer to move there. But with everything going on- idk if we will be able to afford to make that move. ugh.. it makes me so sad when I think about. :sad1: We've basically been planning on relocating to FL after I graduated for over a year now. For the past 4-5 years we have talked about "maybe someday in the future" So I'm not going to give up on the future still. Even if its not this summer- maybe next summer. For sure, there are A LOT more jobs there than here!

and YES I love shopping for Disney! I wish I had unlimited funds for my disney shopping account! :rotfl:

Well thank you- hearing this story does make me feel a little better.:upsidedow I know that whatever place he gets will work out better than this place at least for a while. I'm scared to see a worse place! I'm hoping that his new job is something that he enjoys!

Wow, your degree sounds very interesting! I love Psychology! My minor for teaching started out at Psychology- but then they decided not to offer it anymore. But thats another story. hehe

I have considered using DVC points in the future, but I heard the whole "renting" points thing is changing. Is that true? But when I have more time to research that and plan to do it- I believe I will try it. I have heard a lot of great things about doing so.

Hello Everyone!! :wizard:

This morning was a rough one for DH and I. We spent the whole morning arguing.. about moving and finding jobs and other things. I guess we both woke up on the wrong side of the bed and were both in bad moods, snappy, and stressed. So I decided to post on here to make myself feel better! :goodvibes

Last night I did more shopping online! I don't know if it was because of all the stress from everything else- but I have really been worrying about finding my Disney shirts! This is the longest vaca I've ever taken to Disney.. and buying 9 Disney shirts for the trip has been a lot to take in; especially because I've been having a hard time finding ones that I like. EVEN on the Disney Store. I think I've finally calmed down;) and realized that I don't NEED 9 shirts for the trip, I don;t have to have all Disney themed shirts for each day. I just need to do what I can and buy what I like and be done with it! The important thing (quoted from my mom the other day) is that "we do the best we can with buying everything we need and then just enjoy the vacation. We are going to have a great time". So ok motherrr I'm listening now.

So I believe it was in the fall of last year when I purchased this shirt. It was right after we booked the trip.
This shirt I purchased from hottopic.com. They usually have cute Disney shirts but lately- not so much. Or its insanely expensive. I actually believe I seen tinkgurl wearing this shirt on her last vaca. And surprisingly, I haven't wore it yet- although its been really hard seeing it in my closet!
This is the only pic I could find online- I don't know this girl! hehe

This next one is dedicated to my love of all things Alice in Wonderland. I am a huge fan of the Disney movie, the classic story, and the author. Last semester I did a huge unit project incorporating "Alice's Adventures to Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll and it was one of the funnest things I've ever created. I never thought I would have the opportunity to teach it but that was part of the rules. The good news is- my host teacher from my student teaching experience, teaches a World Literature class (all seniors) and at the end of the year she uses that at the end. She focuses on the theme of "individualism" and "growing up".. which is basically what my unit was on. So maybe, just maybe that dream will come true someday!
Anywho, here's the shirt! I purchased this from disneystore.com about 2 months ago. The detail in the shirt is sooo amazing. If you want- go to the website and zoom the picture.

104889M.jpg

I also purchased DH a shirt too- because it was 2 for $24 deal. He loved this shirt. He loves the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm still debating getting a girly version shirt of this movie- so we can match! I like matching.. especially at Disney! (Yeah I'm that kind of person) hehe
104439M.jpg

Side note- disneystore.com really has some great shirts for men. It was hard for me to decide for him. I like to surprise DH with shirts- otherwise he says "I don't need them" cause he doesn't want to spend the money on them. hehe So if I surprise him, then he doesn't care. I believe I am going to shop for him this weekend. maybe. ;)

These next 2 shirts I purchased from oldglory.com and I must say, I HIGHLY recommend this website for Disney themed shirts- as well as other movies, tv shows, etc. I found this website on accident the other day searching for Disney shirts I liked. I happen to click on a picture that took me to this website and I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of shirts they have. So if you are still shopping for Disney stuff- do check it out. The average price for a shirt is $22 but if its a tank top its cheaper.. and there are tons of things on sale. It was a hard decision... but this is what I chose..

This one was only $10 and it has neon colors! So I had to get it! :thumbsup2

And this last shirt, I purchased on Ebay- and it's new with Tags- or it better be when I get it!

I like Lady and the Tramp but I thought this shirt was soo freakin cute!
D355CDD2.jpg

As you'll notice.. I also like variety in my shirts.. I don't want all Mickey- or anything like that. So I try to get a variety of characters. I really want Toy Story for DH and I- as our matching but its so hard to find ones we like. Especially for ladies..

Alrighty, I hope you all have an amazing Wednesday!

Next post- Pics from Chicago trip, and Kolty!

I love your t-shirts! It is REALLY hard finding shirts that I like-- especially Disney princess tanks! 80stees.com is a great website to find more, though!

Yes, I have thought about that as well. My hope is that they will be really surprised with everything, and they will see all the plans I did and understand the importance of it. DH was kind of like that we went, and then when we arrived- he said "This is the best vaca I've ever had- thank you for planning it all". and I knew that my hard work was worth it!

Oh I don't knock Kmart.. my mom swears my that store.. hehe and they are getting a variety of styles in their fashion dept. hehe

:upsidedow
LOL I wanted to go to WDW when I graduated from college, but DH would not take the vacation time. I was SO THRILLED (and only a little smug) :rotfl: when on the plane from from our trip in '07 DH apologized and said he had no idea how much fun it was, and he was sorry we'd missed so many years of going to WDW before Katie !

Hello Everyone! This is my last week student teaching (tomorrow is my last day..:sad1: and :yay:) so I've been really busy this week.. but I wanted to say hello.. and I will definetely post by this weekend.. I have some news...

It's not really good- not bad- just kind of weird and confuses things.. and little annoying. But I guess we are taking it day by day and "taking it as a sign".. I know this probably confuses you all.. but I swear I will explain it in my next post.

Heres a few clues.. not approved for vacation days, relocating, finding a new job, goodbye 50 days til disney...
.

this is worrisomepopcorn::(but i've read ahead now:laughing:)

Good News:

My shoes:
These are my favorite and most comfortable. My feet just gush in them; if that makes since. hehe:laughing:
10335_pair_66G.jpg

My white pair "I can wear with almost anything" color. hehe
11215_pair_12U.jpg

I also have the Disney- Mickey- Maryjane style crocs.. I bought these last summer for this trip (we originally planned to go in Jan.) and I feel special because I don't think they make them anymore..
Red was the only color they had and these were the kids sizes...hehe Thank goodness for small feet.

LOVE the shoes!:thumbsup2

Bad News:
Well.. I won't get into the whole story, but basically Austins work has been messing with him and all the employees for soo long now. The petty annoying things they do to show they are in control is soo obnoxious. Recently, Austins supervisor was fired after working their for 15 years and received no warning. So much crap goes on here because there is no union. DH has wanted to quit for a while now but he makes good money and his training in EMS doesn't get paid good in this county because of the company that is here. So he opted to stay where he is at until I graduated.

Our initial plans were after I graduate (May 7th!!! :cool1:), I would search for employment- most likely out of state because its a teaching position and there aren't many here in MI. But with having a MI certification in teaching a lot of states will accept that certification because our Teacher Preparatory Program is really difficult and out state testing is really hard compared to other states I guess. (I have been told this anyways). We were hoping that this summer I would find employment and we could relocate. Austin was planning on staying at his employment until I found a new job and then he would find other employment in that location as well. Well in a perfect world- plans like that work out.. but in the real world- it doesn't always.

After DHs supervisor was fired, this other main human resources supervisor took over the position until they refilled that position. He just happens to be one of the worst people that works there, he is a son of a dad who works there and in charge, so this idiot treats people like crap, constantly yells at them, and does whatever he wants because he can. About 3 months ago, DH requested the vaca days off for Disney- his old supervisor said that it was to early to request the time off. So he waited until 1 month- 3 weeks and requested it again (under the new supervisor aka jerkwad.) When Austin requested the dates, the supervisor said "Because of your position (Austin is coordinator of his dept) you are unable to request that many consecutive days in a row off for vacation". This has never happened before, he has been there for almost 3 1/2 years and has always gotten his vaca days. If it was his old supervisor, he would have gotten it no problem. But this guy doesn't want to have to find someone to replace DH for the week, so he said no, and there is nothing he can do about it.
When DH tried to talk to him and explain that he's never been turned down for vaca before, and we have been paying on this for a year now, and how much money we would lose if we canceled it. (We would lose $950 in flight alone). All the supervisor said was "Looks like you need to figure it out" and walked away.:mad: Seriously?!!

After that moment, it was the final straw for us. There is no reason you should treated in the way they are at this establishment, and to deny vacation days for no good reason (even though they give him 10 days off a year), is not acceptable. It wasn't even like we could reschedule it because he told him he wasn't allowed to take that many days off in a row. So basically, you can never take a week vaca, and the annoying part is DH didn't even want to be the coordinator because of the all crap you have to deal with, and when he told them he didn't want to (before they moved him to this position), they said "well we need someone responsible that we can depend on and you are the only one- so you have to do it". They basically gave him a promotion, he didn't want, with no pay raise.

It sounds petty and immature when we think, Austins quitting because he didn't get his vacation days, or because "we can't do to Disney" in my eyes. But that isn't the reason at all. It was the final straw and he just can't work in that environment anymore. It's getting worse and worse. I feel so bad having DH work there because he was hated it for so long and I see that it affects him personally. It's slowly making him depressed and in a bad mood. And I've told him so many times before to find new employment but because he makes good money- he wouldn't leave until I was done and we could move.

New plans- We are still going to Disney. Theres no point in canceling, if we cancel we will lose a lot of money, we might as well go and enjoy it while we are there. DH is going to work there until he finds new employment, or until May 26th- the day before we leave for FL). He is afraid to give his 2 weeks, because in the past when people would give their 2 weeks- they would tell them to "just leave now" and he doesn't want to be without pay for 2 weeks. Since he won't be at this employment all summer- this kind of messes up out plans for relocating outside of MI because of the costs. If he doesn't work there and has to start a new job- chances are we will have to move to another city and fork out costs for deposits for moving and so forth. Our plan was to save for the summer and then move, but now we are planning on moving in June.

As of right now, we don't have a set location, but we are looking into the northern part of the state. DH has always said that if we stay in MI, he wanted to live Upnorth. The Northern part of MI is so beautiful, lots of nature, places to fish, beautiful beaches. It;s great for the outdoors type.
As for me, I'm still looking for teaching positions, but its hard to find them in MI. So I've decided if I don't get one in MI this year, I look into full time subbing, teacher mentor, or something like that and do that for a year. Then maybe we can relocate. I don't see many jobs Upnorth, they are mostly in Detroit area- and I don't want to live there.

So everything is up in the air right now, and we are just trying to live it day by day and plan the best that we can. I'll keep you all updated when we find or hear new information. We are just crossing our fingers that he finds new employment before we leave for FL and can begin before or right after we return.:confused3

Next update, Disney shirts I purchased. and pictures from our Chicago trip. and a picture of my nephew Kolty.

I'm glad that you are still going. His new jerkboss sounds awful. I say don't give notice, just before he goes make a note that he's on vacation for 10 days and will be back on x date. leave it in the air. Bet they are so desparate for his help that they don't fire him. buys you more time to search, but even DH does quit, its the right choice.

I love your shirt pics, too.
gotta go!

My majors and minors were originally going to be switched but I majored in psychology because I wouldn't have graduated on time.

Oh no really? I'll have to look into it. If they were to change the rules, I bet Disney wouldn't allow DVC owners tor reserve for other people or something like that.

I love all your shirts! I have the Lady & the Tramp one. It's so cute :cutie:

Love the new t shirt purchases!!:thumbsup2 I will have to check out those websites.

Thanks! It was a hard decision and I want to shop more! hehe:upsidedow

I love your t-shirts! It is REALLY hard finding shirts that I like-- especially Disney princess tanks! 80stees.com is a great website to find more, though!

Yes- I have looked at 80stees.com and I do like some of the shirts on there too. How is there shipping costs? I'm sure I'll buy more before my trip and I'll look there!

Awesome shirts!! I really like the Lady and the Tramp shirt!!

Thank you- I think I bought that shirt for $8! Thats why I love ebay! You can buy new items online for soo much cheaper than they really cost!

Thats great that his outlook changed! DH changed to after we visited the 2nd time. The first time he enjoyed it- but he wasn't all about returning.. to FL yes, to Disney not really- but then on the 2nd trip- he said it was the best vaca he's ever had. I think the dining plan helped out! hehe

I'm not sure what DH is gonna do about the notice.. I'm just happy that he is finally going to be done. It will be stressful until we figure things out- but it will work out in the end and we will both be A LOT happier!

I don't know what the change is... if you find out- let me know! I love that shirt too! I only paid $8 for it and free shipping! CHA-CHING! hehe Thats why I love shopping on ebay. You get new items for soo cheap! and so far I haven't had a bad experience with it!

Awww girl, I hope you and Austin are doing better today  Keep me updated on everything with his job and finding a job for you after graduation!

So, I have to tell you that after I read your shoe update the other day I went to shoebuy.com and bought myself a pair of the first pair of crocs you posted. You got them in pink and I got them in black but they're so cute and I know how comfy crocs are! So thank you for your inspiration!

Well, since you helped me with my shopping (and because I like you haha) I have to tell you that I did find a women's Toy Story tshirt at a Disney store near me. I bought it all the way back around Christmas time though so I'm not sure if they'll still have it but it's blue and it says "Let's hear it for the toys" on it. See if you can find it somewhere online because I think you would like it!

Wow.... where do I start?! It's been so long, I feel so rusty...

I guess I'll start with by saying Howdy :wave2: and welcome to my first annual Disney World family vacation onsite!!

See it's not my first time, not my husbands first time- but it is my parents first time onsite... and it's our first Disney family vacation staying onsite as a family. Well.. partial family.. cause my DB and his GF aren't going.

Who: Me (Jen), DH (Austy), DM (My Mom), DD, (My Daddio)
What: Walt Disney World Vacation of course!
When: May 27 - June 4, 2011
Where: Disney World- All Star Movies Resort
Why: Celebrating my graduation of college, and my parents are celebrating their first time staying onsite.
How: Airtran will get us to Orlando, and then Disney will take care of the rest.

Ok, before I go any further.. I suppose I should introduce the crew (for those of you who don't know me, or forgot me because its been so long;)) and tell my story of how this trip came about. (I told you I'm rusty- I'll explain the reason for this later as well).

jenface.jpg
(This is me- from last summer, when I was tan, super blonde, and enjoying summer).

I'm Jen, Jennifer to my host teacher and sometimes DH Austy, Jenny to my long time best friends, Jenfer Rosa to my DH.. and many others. But honestly.. I prefer Jen! Like most of you, I have a huge Disney LOVE/OBSESSION for all things Disney. It all started when I was born and raised on all the classic films and then finally in 4th grade, during a family vaca to Florida- we went to the Magic Kingdom. I guess it was always there deep down inside my heart. But it wasn't until after my 3rd year in college did I finally return to the magical place. When I arrived, it was as if I died and gone to heaven. It was the most amazing experience I've ever had and I realized sooo many things about myself. The most important being that I truly loved Disney things and had a deep passion for it. I guess life got in the way of me figuring this out earlier, but I'm happy that my DH (DB at the time) decided to take a trip. Anywho, I am an OLD senior in college compared to most. I'm 27 years old (boo hoo :sad1: wahhhh). I've been attending college since I graduated high school in 2002. So basically, I've been going to school for almost 21 years! The whole story of my college years and reason why it took SO long, its another story for another day. The important thing is that I'm finally GRADUATING on May 7, 2011. YIPPY! and my dream of becoming a teacher will finally come true... well if I can find a job that is. ;) I'm willing to make the sacrifice of a movng as far as Tennessee, Georgia, or even Florida if I have too. :goodvibes I love pink and green, especially neon pink in the summer. It's like my teen alter-ego returns. I love all things outdoors; such as tanning, beaches, swimming, bike trails, hiking, camping, bonfires, walking my doggy. As far as disney goes, I'm a fan of the classics.. and I mean classics- Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Song of the South, The Three Caballeros, Fantasia, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks to name a few. I don't know why but there is just something special about the classic Disney films. More about me later!

DH (Austin or best known as Austy): (This is a pic I took on our Chicago trip in Nov.)

Austin is my very best friend and husband. We have been together for 9 years on June 7, 2011 and married for 3 years! He loves Disney World and some of the movies such as The Lion King, and the Song of the South but he's not exactly Disney obsessed and like many of you fellow disers, he has stated that he does want to have other vacations besides Disney... :sad2: Ok, I suppose so do I someday.. He is a guitar player, loves old video games, the Discovery & History Channel, his idol is probably Bear Grylls. He is also an outdoors-man in the summer.

momdadmegwed-1.jpg

(My parents at my cousins wedding.. my dad being goofy like always. P.S. my mom hates this picture-but its the best one I have of them right now.. so shhh)
DD (My Dad):
I have always considered myself a girl version of my dad.. in the sense that we share sooo many of the same things. For instance, our love for cheese, and corn on our mashed potatoes, our goofy humor, our "glass is half-full" attitude, and our easy-going drama-free personality. My dad is my idol and always has been. He is such a good person, he is a "giver", he lives his life to give to others and take care of others, and he has a huge heart. I have always tried to be the same and become the same great person. I know for sure I get my goofiness from my father.. he is always stating off the wall, sometimes not appropriate jokes, dancing around the house, or being playful. P.S. my dad is responsible for making this trip come true. My dad is a fisherman and hunter at heart.

DM (My Mom):
My mom is definitely a family person. She could spend every single day with us, and have us all living together in one house our whole lives. She can be controlling, negative, and likes drama/arguing but she means well and would do anything for her family. She is a nail tech (who does amazing nail art), loves the spring and summer, planting flowers, and going to the beach. She also loves "family movie night".

The way I see it- My dad and I are alike, and my mom and brother are alike.

I will introduce my DB, his GF, my animals, and much more later.

Now on to the trip, I feel so crazy, like I need to make a list of all the things I have to write about. See.. usually when I plan a trip to Disney I start my PTR like 9 months in advance.. and here we are 2 MONTHS AWAY today, and I'm just starting.. there is soo much to share; about the trip, things I've bought, dining reservations, my trip to Chicago to see The Lion King on Broadway, my student teaching experience, my graduating in May, my possible moving and life changing (new chapter) of my life, wow. I suppose I'll make a list in the mean time.. and spend the next few posts recapping on everything I haven't shared. I've missed you disfriends and it feels good to be back. I felt so bad for not starting my ptr sooner, and not reading your posts.. but I was just so busy there just wasn't time. Next week is spring break, and then the week after that is my last day of teaching. Then I have a break until.. well.. until either I get a job, move...

P.S. Next time, I'll make the pictures smaller. hehe

Hello Disfriends! I told you that I would post an update this past weekend, and I planned on doing just that.. but because I had new plans to shop for disney on Sat. and then on Sunday- it was 81 degrees outside!!!!:rotfl: So I spent the entire day outside! I even got a little sun on my face..:) Yesterday, DH's siblings came up (with my nephew (I don't think I told you guys about him.. geess.. well I'll share a pic)). They actually came up Saturday night to stay because we live over an hour away from them. Austin's brother JJ, his sister Brytiani, her husband Johnathon, and their cute wittle baby Kolt. On Sunday, we woke up early made homemade sausage gravy and biscuits. Then we headed to the park to ride this middle motorcycle thing that Johnathon brought up.. it was fun and goes really fast. We then played a few games of PIG on the basketball court. This only reminded me of how horrible I am at shooting hoops. hehe Then we headed back home. After they left, Austy and I went on a 6-mile bike ride through the bike trails. I absolutely LOVE riding bikes. It's such a relaxing and peaceful exercise. I love the wind blowing in my face and going through the trails you hear animal noises. It's great! When we got home, we had a little cook-out. I made homemade coleslaw (which turned out ok- but not the recipe we used in the past), and had "coleslaw dogs"! Then we finished with going grocery shopping, and relaxed until bed time. It was absolutely amazing.. and it made me excited for spring to finally be here, going to Disney with wonderfully warm weather, and summer of course. My favorite 2 months of the year. hehe:laughing:

Anywho.. I last posted that there were things going on and that I would share the issue. I've decided to make this post a Good News/Bad News posting.. And I want to start with the good news!

Good News:
I've been narrowing down QS choices and surprisingly it has been a lot easier then I expected. Once I have them finalized or at least a list of places we will choose from- I will share.

As I mentioned earlier, we had a surprise Disney shopping spree on Saturday. Saturday morning my mom called and asked if we wanted to go to the outlets and look at some Crocs for Florida. We had been "saying" we were going to go for a while now. I guess with the nice weather, it was just meant to be. Saturday afternoon, DH and I meant my parents at the outlet mall. This is the only Crocs store in our area. It's like a halfway meeting point from my parents and us. So we just meet there.

This trip I really wanted to try those Vibram Fivefinger shoes.. but they are soo expensive (not that I wouldn't pay that for them if they worked), but it hard to find reviews on them, and I was afraid that my feet would sweat wearing them all day. I had told my parents about Crocs a while back, telling them how convenient they are for Disney and comfortable. The things I love most about them is that my feet can breathe, I hate wearing shoes especially in the summer, but walking all day I need decent support. Crocs also have good support- I can wear these all day and have no issues. And lastly, if it rains or if they get wet- they dry instantly and you don't have to worry.

So my parents were convinced they wanted to have some too. After searching around the store for about 45 minutes and trying on 20 different pairs and colors.. we all finally decided what we wanted. I was kind of disappointed because there were many styles online that weren't the store, I'm assuming they are new and not at the outlet store. Nonetheless, I love the shoes I got.
My shoes:
These are my favorite and most comfortable. My feet just gush in them; if that makes since. hehe:laughing:
10335_pair_66G.jpg

My white pair "I can wear with almost anything" color. hehe
11215_pair_12U.jpg

My mom's shoes:
She opted for the newly updated classic style. She said she didn't like the shoes fitting tightly. These are pretty, like my white ones. They look like Pearl and have a shimmer to them.
10126_pair_100.jpg

This pair she liked, and decided to get even though they were tighter fitting.
11072_pair_66G.jpg

My Dad, He had a really hard time finding ones that he liked, and of course- the one pair he finally did like was the most expensive in the store. hehe But when he first put them on, he said "these feel weird on my feet" and I told him "just wear them for a little bit- you will get use to it and like them"
He got the leather style:
10123_pair_280.jpg

Lastly, Austy (who couldn't find anything he like in his size, and finally opted to the classic style.. ) I told him he was being boring.. but he wore them all day yesterday to break them in- and he said he loves them. So yay!
His are actually two-toned with light and dark brown, but I couldn't find a picture of them.
10001_pair_200.jpg

I also have the Disney- Mickey- Maryjane style crocs.. I bought these last summer for this trip (we originally planned to go in Jan.) and I feel special because I don't think they make them anymore..
Red was the only color they had and these were the kids sizes...hehe Thank goodness for small feet.
hart1a_disney_girls_minnie_mouse_mary_jane_crocs.jpg

So now shoes are taken care for our trip. Now I just have 7 more Disney shirts to buy- if I plan on having a Disney shirt for each day. oh boy. (I should mention I have searched all around and just don't see/find ones that I like).

After shopping, we stopped at ate at Uno's-Chicago Bar and Grill. DH and I tried the deep dish pizza for the first time, and while it was really good- it didn't compare to the pizza we had in Chicago.

Bad News:

Well nice to gey all the crocs that everyone wanted but really sucks for your DH and tough choice for yourself. It's a good thing your DH didn't say or do anything that he may regret later. I hope it all works out for the better for you guys...I know it's hard sometimes but you have to try and stay posotive. good luck.:)

YAY! You will love those shoes! They are soo sqweeshy and amazing on your feet. I wore them the other day and I am extremely happy with them. One of the kids told me that I was wearing "Barbie shoes".. I'm not sure she was saying that because of the color or style but I'm ok with it!;)

I have searched ALL over online for TS shirts. I will try searching those words and see if I can find one. I have seen a few on the disneystore website but I don't care for them. But it was the one you had. It sounds really cute. So thank you!

Just started reading your PTR and can't wait to get caught up...love it so far and will be subbing:woohoo::banana:

YAY! Welcome and Hello!! :goodvibes I'm glad you are reading! I need to make sure I stay up on this and not fall behind!

:)

Thank you! We are dealing with it all! I/We have been applying many many jobs. I feel like I have a part time job finding new employment. This weekend we went in the northern part of the state to apply for some places. I just want a teaching job :sad1: I'll share more in the next post.

And we are both trying to stay positive! :wizard:

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday, I had written out an entire post while uploading pictures from Chicago to photobucket.. BUT google chrome froze and I had to close out of it- then when I restarted- there was nothing there!!! So I'm going to try and repost it today! (instead of reading your reports.. grr).

Sorry I have been MIA for about a week. On Thursday, I subbed and then I spent Thursday night packing for "upnorth". On Friday, I spent the entire day, packing, cleaning out the car, cleaning the house, doing laundry.. etc.. just so we could go upnorth for the weekend. When DH got home from work, we left and stayed there until Monday night. We went up there to apply/ look for jobs, and places to live. Right now we are renting a duplex with a garage, but we are both ready to have our own place and yard again. So we have been looking for houses for rent. OF COURSE, in the city that we want there is nothing for rent- except for amazing condos that are over $1000 to rent- and thats not work it to me. If I don't have a yard, my own driveway, and a garage- I'm not paying that. I don't care the view. Ok- maybe I would if it was on a beach in FL or at Disney.. but not these places- there is nothing special about them. Anyways, so we spent the entire weekend driving and looking and calling. We spent 1 night at DH's Aunt/Uncles house. and then the remaining time at a hotel. I didn't take a pictures because it was to tiring and and busy of a weekend.. and it wasn't very fun either. ;)

I keep missing countdowns on my trip- every 10 days I have marked on my calendar and I get soo excited when 10 more days have gone by. I always want to say "Happy- 50- 40- and now I'm almost at 30. But I keep missing it- so today I'll say HAPPY 35 DAYS!! Which just reminded me, I need to make the countdown for 30 days.. I hope I have time this weekend...

For the first time in my life, I can say, that DISNEY is coming faster than I can handle for soo many reasons. omggooodness.

Now as promised,
Chicago--
In Nov. 2010, DH and I went to Chicago for my birthday. We only went for a weekend by train, but it was amazing. It was the coolest place I've been to besides Disney.. so far. And the reason I want to share this trip is because 1. it was my first time there, 2. It was my first real broadway show, 3. It was for Lion King on Broadway!!
The show was amazing and I cried during the song "The Live in You"-which isn't a original song from the movie but still amazing. The Live in You song Here a link to the song, it doesn't compare to performing live but you can still get the idea and here the song.

So here are a few pics from the trip- that I picked from about 300! hehe
Our first view of Chicago.. raining yet still wonderful.
