no, but i was named after my grandmother and great grandmother thought enough of my dd not to name her it also

I was actually named by my mother's doctor. My Maternal Grandfather had died it Jan and I was born in April. Mom said if it's a boy his name will be Victor George. Apparently the doctor told my Mom - you haven't got a Victor George but a Victoria Georgeanna. It stuck. I'm glad, she was going to name a girl Deborah Ann. Victoria was much more uncommon and my nickname Tori - given by my Aunt - was even more so back in the 1960s ;)

My middle name is Lee. My Dad's name is Leland, so my mom thought Lee would be a good middle name for me.

Me & my dad have the same first name, but I'm not a junior-different middle name. Our neighbor had the same first name also, so when someone hollered "Jimmie!", we all came running, LOL!!!

Yes, I have my Mothers Middle name for my first name & my Grandmother's middle name for my middle name.

DH has both of his father's names (reverse of his fathers)

But I broke the mould when I had my kids.......

I vowed I would not name either of them after anyone living or dead.

I was slighlty temtped with DS#2 as we lost my Dad during the pregnancy, but I held strong & he is not named after anyone else.

I believe we all are entitled to our own idendity & therefore naming our children after ourselves or some other family member is unfair.

That's just my opinion of course....a lot of people would disagree with me & that's fine.

Nope. I was supposed to be named Luvenia Catherine (family tradition for first born girls) but my mother tells me that she couldn't bring herself to give me that name. So, she sort of made up my name. It is probably the result of the Scopalomine they used to sedate her during delivery

Katholyn

Sort of.... My name is Beth (yes, just Beth), my mom's middle name is Elizabeth. My dad didn't want people calling me 'Liz', so they just named me Beth.

My sister's first daughter's middle name is also Elizabeth and her second daughter's first name is Annelise, which is my middle name (Ann) and my sister's middle name (Elise) put together. But, that was an accident. She had no idea, someone mentioned it to her after she was born.

I was given my uncles Spencers name as my middle name he was killed in a car accidnet about 2 years after I was born. My son was born on the same day as my uncle Spencer was and within an hour of his birth so we named him Spencer James the same as my late uncle. My oldest daughter was given one of my cousins names as a middle name my cousin died when she was jus 1 and my middle daughter was given one of my aunts names as a middle name and if you put the first initial of the kids names together in order of age we have Paige Madison and Spencer.

every day of the year hehehe.

No. If I'd been born a day earlier, I would've had my mom's middle name. Unfortunately, since I was born a day late, I have my grandmother's middle name.;)

My first name is a version of my mother's middle name and my daughter's middle name is a version of my first name. Elizabeth, Lisabeth, Elisabeth My middle name she just liked.

I share my middle name with my mother and my paternal grandmother. And my daughter will have it as well. If I were a boy, I would have had both of my grandfather's names.

Most of the names my sisters and I have claimed for our future children are family names.

My middle name is the same as my mom's middle name (Lynn), but she goes by her middle name, I go by my first name. I named my DD12 after my mother's 1st name and my DH's mother's 1st name (Crystal Suzanne). DD8 was named after DH and DH's dad (Jamie Danielle). My whole family was named for someone in the family. I like it! It makes me feel connected.

Yup, my middle name is Ann and mom was Anna. My DD's middle name is the same as my first name.. and DS is named after his daddy, too. Guess we just aren't original people!:D

My mom gave me my grandma's middle name, Ann. And my mom was going to have my middle name be Lee. So I would have been Sarah Lee, after the pie and then everyone would think I make the pies. LOL :teeth:

Actuially,, family history dictates ,,, first born male is middle maned allen,, grandad, g grandad, dad, gg grandasd was Willian daniel so not sure why they skiped the allens,, but if we back track 1 generation it starts over and follows back as far as we can trace the family,, thinking maybe willian dan was not the oldest kid,, that maybe there was an older one we dont have recoprded.. but it continues,, nephew is steven allen now,, its funny,, both my dad and i own property on my street ,, both are listed J.A. we never get the right bills when they come that way,,lol,, we have to open them and check the additional info to make sure its the right mail..lol...

My mom's middle name is Victoria--which is my first..she just loved the name though-she didn't really name me after herself. My middle is Emma, after her grandma.
My daughter has my mom's maiden name as her middle-she is Julia Lindsey____.
If I had had another daughter she would have been Emma Grace...but we had a son--whose middle name is his Dad's first(and my FIL's first name as well). He is Matthew James ____. :o)
I love using the middle name as a way to honor relatives. First names are whatever we like, middles are for who we love.

My mom and I have the same first name. It's a bummer, I have always wished I had a name of my own.

No, not named after anyone in our family or otherwise. My mom just liked the name Deena and my grandma picked out my middle name Rena (Renee).
When my great grandma saw my name she thought it was Deena Rena (Reena) .

My mother's middle name is Marie, my middle name is Marie, and my dd's middle name is Marie. I've already gotten a promise from my dd that if she ever has a dd of her own she'll name her middle name Marie too. I think it's neat to carry down family traditions in that way.
