When you first registered to the DIS....

when i first came to the DIS, i was planning my wedding and honeymoon there in orlando...so i spent lots of time on the trip planning boards...eventually wondered into the CB and just never left! i do visit some of the other boards every now and then, but the CB is my home, for the most part. :)

When I joined there was only one board and Pete himself was the monitor and posted frequently. I still have my DIS tshirt too. Somewhere along the way they expanded and we all had to reregister our nicks. Back in the "old" days Pete did quite a bit to personally help peeps plan trips....which was highly appreciated. Which reminds me of Figaro....wonder if Pete still has him. I must say thats the one thing I miss is not seeing Pete post anymore. As the site grew more and more people have become mods and others with several trips under their belts have become a great source of all things Disney. This is without a doubt the best place to find not only great people but great and accurate information on Disney. Thanks Pete!!!!!!!

I started at the Cruise board and worked my way over here. :)

When I too first joined the DIS there was only one board.:)

When I first registered, there was only one board.

When I first registered I mostly posted on the Theme Parks and Teen Board. Now I feel a little too old for the teen board because most kids there are about 12-13 years old, and nobody really posts there anymore anyways.

I registered when I was planning our June 2000 trip, so spent most of my time on Resorts, Theme Parks, Transportation, etc. When we got back, I continue to lurk, and then found the DVC board. Spent a lot of time there, mostly lurking, then I found Rewards, and really got into that. Then heard about the CB from there. Now I spend most of my time here. I am planning a Sept/2003 trip, so I have been on the Theme Parks board a lot. Also tips and Rewards. I guess I look at a lot of boards, but the CB is where I make my home.

I started on the DVC boards then migrated to the Cruise Line Board before finally settling here on the CB. This is where I usually start my DISing. I don't make it over to CLB too often because we don't have any cruises planned in the near or distant future. I make an occasional stop on the DVC board, but am not a regular there either.

When we were on a Disney Cruise this past November, I was surprised at just how segregated the DIS boards are. The folks that I met on the cruise had no clue who "nativetxn" or "Dan Murphy" were. But they all knew "inkkognito". It's an awful lot like the church that we attend. We have two services on Sunday morning. It's fun to go to the "other" service and see how many people greet you thinking that you are a visitor to the church even though we've been members for over 15 years.

One other thing that I've noticed. I don't think that a single post that I've made on the Collector's Board has ever been answered. I guess being a regular on a particular forum has its benefits.

Hey, Phorsenuf.

For those of you that only had 1 board when it was here, what was the name of the board? Was it DISboard, or did it have a name like the Community Board?

Good golly Miss Molly errrrr browneyes :p That was a long time ago. Not a clue on the board name but I do remember some of the peeps since there werent all that many. CC prolly remembers.

I am on the community board most often but I like to visit the others also

I spent most of my time on the Trip Reports board for a couple of years and only looked at the other boards once in a while. Now, I spend most of my time here.

I found the DIS right AFTER we got back from a WDW trip in July 1998. We had such a great time at Wilderness Lodge but I think I drove people nuts constantly talking about those crickets and the music from the lobby!!!!!!! ;););) A few people here remember that WL fan group!!

I think there was only 1 board then but then it was two....I think they were called Theme Parks Board and R&R Board(resorts and restaraunt board).

You know.....after all those WDW trips I have made (30+) I STILL learn something new from these boards before each trip!!

Oh and back to the original question..I usuallt hang out on the COmmunity Board and DVC Board until we have a trip planned, then I check the planning boards too.

Karen

I have also been here from the very beginning and I don't really remember what the boards were.
I used to spend most of my time on theme parks, resorts, trip reports boards but now that I have been around the boards for 4 years and 5 trips later.......:p .......I don't need as much planning info so I mostly come to the CB for my entertainment. ;) ;)

I started on the Budget Board and still consider it "home"--we penny pinchers understand one another! I come to the Community Brd. for fun and also visit Dis for Families often.

I started with the DVC board then moved to the CB although I check out a few of the others regularly.
