We were able to plan a "late" trip to WDW June 2-6, but can't get our all-time favorite, must do restaurant 'Ohana. My oldest says it won't be the same without eating there. :sad1: I've been trying everyday since we found out we could possibly be going and there's just nothing available during those dates. Wishing I could've known just a little bit sooner!!
Any suggestions or tips?? Is there another restaurant that is similar to 'Ohana??

I wouldnt give up keep trying up until you leave. You may need to take a earlier or later time to get it tho..

One yr I couldnt get it and so we went to Kona just b/c we really wanted to eat at the Poly.. You can get the bread and wings at Kona that Ohana has as well as the dumplings and you may be able to ask if you can get some of that bread pudding for your dessert.

Also you can ask the front desk of your WDW resort each morning to see if there is an opening..

Keep checking the cancelled reservations thread on the Reservations board (where I'm moving this) for June. This will let you know if anyone on the DIS is planning to cancel a reservation there, and if it's for enough people you might be able to go online and snag it.

Please remember, though, that requests to transfer or trade reservations aren't permitted, nor are "reservation wanted" posts.

Just keeping on checking everyday, I think alot people recommend going right before they open where they could put your name on a list and you wait. We didn't get to go to Ohana this past trip, we missed it due to transportation problems and it was the last seating of the day, we only been once before so I have nothing to go on. But every restaurant we went to including signatures like Narcoossee and Flying Fish, and the hard to get Le Cellier was taking walkups, we booked Le Cellier and really enjoyed it, when we went to our adrs they were many people doing walkups with success, so we decide to do the same later on in the week and they took us, the actually wait time was just maybe 5 minutes

I agree! Take advantage of the concierge services! Now there is of course no guarantee that they will be able to help, but they generally will try very hard for you. And while Kona is definitely not 'Ohana it wouldn't be bad alternative. 'Ohana is a must-do for our family as well not just for dinner but also breakfast so I understand how you would be disappointed, but keep trying! :goodvibes

If I were you, I would make back-up plans... but still keep checking! People who buy MYW packages have until 45 days before their trip to cancel. And often trips are canceled right around that 45 day mark... which means people cancel their ADRs too! In the past when I haven't been able to get ADRs for a certain restaurant, something has opened up right around 45 days before my trip! So if you're going in early June, then 45 days before your trip should be around mid-April.

So yeah, definitely keep checking every day! And maybe check more often throughout the day in mid-April :)

Good luck!!!!

DONT GIVE UP! I made some mistakes in my ADRs ,yesterday I called disney and they told me : "sorry we dont have anything available for that day" :headache:, I was freaking out, I had tried to do the modification online and no luck neither :sad2:... and everyone in my party is so excited about Ohana...How do I tell them we dont have Ohana anymore? :guilty:...Anyways yesterday I spend at least 4 hours of my afternoon checking online every 10 minutes or so ..when magically :wizard: online ress gave me the one hour and date that I really need!! :wizard:..I think someone cancel and I was lucky enough to be online
I would say make a plan B just for back up but KEEP TRYING! once the one that you wants appears cancel plan B .
Good Luck !

I feel your pain, I cannot snag an Ohana either. There is a 9:30pm which won't cut it given my kids are 7 yrs old and under. I have the same problem with Tusker House - trying to get an AM ressie the morning its early magic hours. I feel like I have a better chance of seeing a unicorn!!!

Definitely keep an eye on the thread for your month's ADR cancellations. That's how I got my 'Ohana reservation. Our trip was originally booked for May 27-June 3, but due to VERY high airfare for those dates, I moved our trip earlier. I was able to get all of the restaurants we had originally booked, rebooked for our new dates, EXCEPT 'Ohana. That was the one place that I really wanted to eat this trip. I subscribed to the May ADR cancellation thread and after a couple of weeks, someone posted that they were cancelling 'Ohana for a day/time that I was looking for, and I was able to get it!!! Just keep checking regularly...hopefully something will open up for you!

Good luck!

GOT IT!! Got a 6:30p Ohana for a day that will work out perfectly!! Thanks so much again. Persistence pays off....took about 2 weeks, but I finally found a great time. Felt like I was addicted to the WDW ADR site though. :rotfl2:
Thanks again for all the support. Must have been some fairy dust from everyone here! :tinker:
