Last week of October or last week of January? We just went the this past January and had an awesome time! Weather was nice, low crowds, great room rate. But my husband and I both have the last week of October off. So now we are wondering when to go. If we went in October my son would turn 5 at Disney, which I think would be cool and I would love to attend the halloween party. But how crowded is it during the week? We would do monday - friday.

October will be more crowded than the last week in January, but the Halloween party is supposed to be awesome. The weather would be warm in October, so you could swim, and you already have the week off, so it seems a Halloween birthday celebration in Disney makes sense to me!

I've been in October, and honestly, it's my favorite time to go. I love the Fall decorations, and the weather is warm enough to swim, but not so hot that you die.

This is going to be a very subjective group of posts. I always avoid October at the parks personally because I DON'T like all the festivities. End of Jan is obvious as can be for me. However, now that we have EP and MK literally in our backyard, we may at least go some in F&W fest time. Not because of the fall decor tho. Food & Wine fest is super busy tho. And for all our sakes, here's hoping for a hurricane free fall! (Another reason I don't plan much in Oct. But it's different when you live there... Guess I'll find out.)

Anyway the answer to this question is the same as which color is better, red or blue?

October is more Magical in my opinion. There's a lot of fun Halloween things to do and the Water Parks are both open.

If crowds are your biggest concern, then I'd say last week of January. But the weather is often pretty lousy at that time. Based on our two early February trips, don't even think about any kind of pool time. Hours are often short at the parks, too.

But if you are ok with moderate crowds (still not overly crowded), then I'd go with October. The Halloween decorations are fun even if you don't go to any of the parties (we don't) and the weather is basically perfect.

October! I love the fall decorations and MNSSHP. It's probably my favorite event we have been to so far at Disney... Although Star Wars Weekend in 19 days may change that!:yoda:

Its a hard choice for us, we love low crowd levels and pools are not high on our must do list. But at the same time the park hours are shorter and there are no decorations/special events etc in January. My husband would put more importance on the low crowds and I like the idea of being there near halloween and our DS birthday. OT- we stayed at the Poly and really enjoyed it but would like to try something new. Opinions on the Contemporary and Beach Club?
